Build a teacher resource membership site
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your teacher resource membership site, with paid plans, gated downloads, revision emails, and a searchable lesson library, and Kliv builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a resource marketplace you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the rules, the screens, and the checkout. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run payments through your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a teacher resource membership site with subscriptions, gated files, update emails, and a searchable lesson library. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one of them, and that’s what the rest of this page covers.
Why build your own resource site?
After twelve years of teaching eighth-grade science, you may have a folder full of lessons that other teachers would pay to use: the density unit that finally works, the photosynthesis sequence you rebuilt four times, the worksheet you keep improving. Marketplaces can sell each file, but they keep the buyer relationship and treat every revision like a new listing.
Kliv builds a resource site you own. Members can subscribe to the whole library. Downloads open only for active members. When you fix a misprint or improve a lab, the teachers who use that unit get an email the same day.
What the library holds
Six parts of the membership site, and what each one does.
Units and files
Each unit is a record with a teacher guide, slides, printables, standards, and files stored behind the member gate. Search can find “45-minute intro to density,” not just a filename.
Members and plans
Offer monthly membership at $8, annual membership at $64, or a free sample unit. Each member record knows the plan, grade band, and units they downloaded.
Download access
Files open to current members and close when membership lapses. The rule is on the file, not on a link someone can forward to a whole department.
Revisions and changelog
Version twelve replaces version eleven in place, with a change note. The unit history stays with the unit, so teachers can tell what changed.
Update emails
When you revise a unit, Kliv emails the members and buyers who have that unit. The email uses your template and includes your change note.
Prep assistant
A member can ask “what fills a 45-minute block on states of matter?” and get an answer from your own units, with citations to the source lesson, not a guess from the open internet.
An example: Nadia’s middle-school science library
Here’s how one teacher might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own subjects, files, prices, and update rules.
Her teaching folder becomes a searchable library
Nadia uploads twelve years of units into the file store. They are indexed by topic, grade band, standard, and meaning, so teachers can search by what a lesson needs to do.
The membership opens the files
She sells membership at $8 per month or $64 per year and offers one free sample unit. Joining opens the full library right away.
A teacher joins before school starts
In August, a teacher subscribes and downloads the fall semester units in one evening. Nadia’s app records exactly which units that member has.
A revised lab reaches the right people
In October, Nadia fixes three data-table errors in the density lab and improves the warm-up. Saving the revision sends an update email to the 214 members who downloaded that unit.
A failed renewal gets handled
In February, a member’s card expires. Kliv retries the payment and sends reminder emails. If the grace period ends, the download gate closes until the member fixes the card.
The library gets more valuable over time
By June, new units and revision notes show the library is maintained. The product is not just a pile of PDFs; it is a paid shelf that keeps improving.
Describe the resource site you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Spell out the subject, prices, access rules, samples, and update behavior. Here are three to build on:
Science unit library
Membership plans, gated downloads, and update emails.
“Build a teacher resource membership site for my middle-school science units. Charge $8 per month or $64 per year, include one free sample unit, gate downloads to active members, and email everyone who downloaded a unit when I publish a revised file.”
Math intervention bank
Lessons organized by grade and skill gap.
“Build a subscription library for math intervention lessons. Organize lessons by grade, topic, and skill gap; let members search the index; gate downloads to active members; and offer a $99 yearly plan for school teams.”
ESL conversation packs
Levelled packs with a free sample and annual pricing.
“Build a membership library for ESL conversation packs from A1 to C1. Include one free sample pack, charge $12 per month or $96 per year, and email members when I add new packs or revise old ones.”
How it comes together
Access follows membership. A membership is the rule that opens the files. When someone joins, the shelf opens. If a payment lapses, it closes on the grace-period rules you set.
Updates are tied to revisions. Saving a new version can send an email to the members and buyers who hold that unit, using your template and your change note. Each send is logged against the unit.
Tax can be handled at checkout. If you register jurisdictions such as VAT or state sales tax, Kliv can calculate tax at checkout and prepare reports from the orders.
The source is yours. Your site’s code syncs to your own Git repository, including the library, the download rules, and the update flow.
You’re a creator selling expertise in a structured form. The creators solutions page shows what else can be built on the same rails.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder that builds custom web apps from a description. For a teacher resource membership site, it builds the library, member accounts, checkout, gated downloads, revision emails, and admin screens around your resources.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database, logic, screens, and access rules for your resource library. It is not a marketplace listing or a theme you fill in.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can ask for new plans, different download rules, new unit fields, or a changed email flow, and Kliv updates the app without starting over.
What happens when a member’s subscription lapses?
Payment retries and reminder emails run first. If the lapse stays past the grace period you set, the member loses access to current downloads, new units, and update emails until they renew.
Can I sell single units as well as membership?
Yes. Single purchases can live in the same catalog as the subscription. A buyer keeps access to the unit they bought and can still receive update emails for that unit.
Who receives update emails when I revise a unit?
Only the members or buyers who hold that unit. Kliv calculates that from membership, purchase, and download records, not from a separate mailing list you maintain.
Can members search the lessons by topic or standard?
Yes. You can structure units by subject, grade, standard, duration, and keywords, and Kliv can index the files so members can search by what they need to teach.
Can members ask questions about the material?
Yes, if you include the prep assistant. It answers from your uploaded units and cites the unit it used, so the answer is grounded in your materials.
Does Kliv take a cut of my sales?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do my members need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Members pay by card at checkout. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild from screenshots.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. The app is its own admin. You add units, upload files, edit text, publish revisions, and manage members inside the site.
