    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a quiz plugin or course template — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the assessment app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, item bank, timers, review queues, accounts, dashboards, and billing rules. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.

On this page, that app is an assessment platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this page focuses on exams, practice attempts, review, seat packs, and readiness reporting.

Why practice exams outgrow quiz plugins

A serious certification school needs more than shuffled questions. It needs domains, timed attempts, short-answer review, company seat packs, and dashboards that show which topics are weak before exam day.

Kliv builds the exam hall as one application. The item bank, attempts, examiner marks, seats, billing, and readiness data all live in the same database and follow the rules you describe.

    What one attempt carries

The records that separate an assessment platform from a pile of quizzes.

    The item bank

Questions are tagged by domain and carry their answer key and study-guide reference. Retired questions stay attached to past attempts, so history remains clear.

    A timed attempt

A 90-minute, 60-item attempt uses a server-side timer. Closing a laptop does not create extra time, and keyed items score when the attempt is submitted.

    The review queue

Short answers wait for an examiner with the rubric beside them. Each mark records who gave it, and results release only when the queue clears.

    Seats and cohorts

A company can buy a ten-seat pack. Each seat is one named login, and a supervisor sees pass status per seat without seeing wrong-answer detail.

    The readiness dashboard

Readiness appears by domain, candidate, and cohort. If a cohort is weak on rigging angles, the gap shows up before exam day.

    Built for the pass rate

The parts that do the work around the exam itself.

A tutor that studied your guides

The tutor answers from the study guides you upload, not the open internet. Sessions are saved for the lead instructor to review.

    Seats sold at checkout

Walk-in candidates can buy a $45 attempt pack, and firms can buy ten-seat packs with their tax ID on the invoice. Access opens when payment clears on your own Stripe account.

A deadline that has been tested

A Scenario test can sit the mock exam in a real browser, start the clock, let it expire, and confirm auto-submit and scoring before candidates use it.

    Item statistics for the bank

Attempts feed the numbers. Questions that teach nothing can be retired with evidence attached, while useful discriminators stay in the bank.

An example: Tessa’s arborist certification school

Here’s how one school might use an assessment platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own domains, timers, rubrics, seats, and pricing.

    01

The item bank matches the syllabus

Tessa imports questions tagged by tree biology, pruning, felling and rigging, pest and pathology, and safety. Each item keeps its answer key and guide reference.

    02

Timed mocks run on the server

Candidates take a 90-minute, 60-item mock exam. Keyed items score on submit, and the timer cannot be extended by closing a laptop.

    03

    Short answers go to examiners

Short responses enter a review queue with the rubric beside them. The result releases only after the examiner marks the queue.

    04

    Companies buy named seats

A tree-care company buys a $390 ten-seat pack. Each seat becomes one named login, and the foreman sees pass status without seeing private attempt detail.

    05

    Weak domains show early

The readiness dashboard shows that March’s cohort is weak on rigging angles, giving Tessa time to teach the gap before the real exam.

Describe the assessment platform you want

Kliv builds from your description, so include the domains, timing, scoring, review rules, seat packs, prices, and reports. Here are three examples:

    kliv.dev

    Arborist exam prep

Five domains, timed mocks, review, and seat packs.

“Build an assessment platform for my arborist certification school. Create an item bank tagged by tree biology, pruning, felling and rigging, pest and pathology, and safety. Include 90-minute mock exams with 60 items, examiner review queues for short answers, $45 individual attempt packs, and $390 ten-seat company packs.”

    kliv.dev

    License-prep drills

    State-specific banks and monthly access.

“Build a real-estate license prep platform with state-specific question banks, timed 75-question practice tests, per-topic readiness scores, and a $29 monthly subscription with a 7-day free trial.”

    kliv.dev

    Forklift safety assessments

Photo questions, retakes, and supervisor dashboards.

“Build a workplace assessment tool for forklift safety. Include photo-based questions, per-site cohorts, automatic retake scheduling 7 days after a failed attempt, supervisor dashboards, and certificates after passing.”

    The machinery under the exam

A seat is a live entitlement. When a firm’s payment clears, ten logins open. When the pack is used, the next candidate has to buy access. The roster and payment record are connected.

Results arrive properly. Pass letters come from your domain, in your wording, when the review queue clears. A scheduled job can nudge examiners whose queues are getting old.

Wrong answers stay private. A supervisor may have paid for the seat, but attempt detail belongs to the candidate. The database enforces that boundary.

An exam hall works best attached to the classroom that feeds it. For lessons, drip content, and completion certificates, take the course side next: courses on Kliv.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the assessment platform you need, and Kliv builds the item bank, attempts, review queues, accounts, billing, and dashboards.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. It is built around your item bank, timing rules, review workflow, seat packs, and reports, not a generic quiz template.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can add domains, change attempt timing, revise rubrics, add seat packs, or change dashboards by asking.

Does the AI grade the exams?

No. Keyed items score themselves on submit. Short answers go to your examiners with your rubric. The tutor can explain material, but grading authority stays with the people you named.

What stops candidates sharing one login?

A seat is one named identity, with sign-in options such as passkeys and two-factor. Attempt timing and history can surface suspicious patterns.

Can we sell to companies and individuals at once?

Yes. The same catalog can hold individual attempt packs and company seat packs, with tax IDs on invoices when needed. Access opens when payment clears.

Does Kliv take a cut of assessment sales?

No. Payments run on your own Stripe account, and card fees are between you and Stripe.

Can we import a question bank from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Columns can become fields, domains can become tags, and guide references can attach to each item. Edits create revisions instead of rewriting past attempts.

    Can supervisors see candidate answers?

They can see the status you allow, such as pass status or readiness, while wrong-answer detail can stay private to the candidate.

Can timers be tested before launch?

Yes. A Scenario test can run the exam in a real browser, expire the timer, and confirm auto-submit and scoring before candidates use it.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
