Build an assignment and grading workflow
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the assignment and grading workflow you need — submissions, jurors, rubrics, release windows, appeals, and exports — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t an LMS module with fixed quiz assumptions — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, logic, screens, file handling, and access rules. You own the result and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a generic gradebook template.
On this page, that app is an assignment and grading workflow. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one handles submissions, rubrics, sealed results, appeals, files, and exports.
Why the LMS does not fit every program
Some assignments are not quizzes or essays. A conservatory may grade performance videos with three jurors and a shared rubric. A design program may need critique rounds before final marks.
Kliv builds the grading workflow around the program’s real process: submissions, rubrics, independent scoring, release windows, appeal threads, and registrar exports as records with enforceable rules.
What lands in the jury folder
These records keep grading clear and defensible.
Assignments
Each brief stores due date, submission format, and requirements such as camera angle or movement.
Submissions
A video file uploads onto the assignment and is visible to the student and assigned jurors only.
Rubrics and scores
Tone, accuracy, interpretation, or your own bands are scored on separate juror rows.
Release windows
Scores can exist before students see them. Visibility follows the release timestamp.
Regrade threads
An appeal opens a thread on the submission, with adjustments, reasons, and timestamps kept on record.
Gradebook
The registrar export comes from the same rows students and faculty use.
An example: Ms. Arai’s piano department
Here’s how one department might use a grading workflow built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own assignments, rubrics, release rules, and appeal process.
The brief posts with its deadline
Third-years must upload one étude and one Romantic work, with camera angle showing hands, by Friday 18:00.
Videos arrive through one door
Forty-three uploads land on the assignment with timestamps. The upload page closes at the deadline unless the late policy says otherwise.
Jurors score independently
Each juror sees their own scoresheet. Other jurors’ scores are not visible while scoring is open.
Grades release together
At Friday 17:00, the cohort’s grades become visible at once because the release time was set on the assignment.
An appeal stays attached to the submission
A student questions an interpretation score. The chair re-listens, adjusts the band, and records the reason on the thread.
The registrar export uses the same rows
The semester export comes directly from the grades, with no retyping step.
Describe the grading workflow you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include assignment formats, rubrics, graders, release timing, late policy, appeals, and exports. The more detail you give, the closer the first version.
Conservatory juries
Videos, rubrics, sealed release.
“Build a grading workflow for a music conservatory. Students upload performance videos by Friday 18:00, three jurors score tone, accuracy, and interpretation independently, grades release to the whole cohort Friday at 17:00, and regrade requests open a thread on the submission.”
Bootcamp projects
Submissions, resubmission windows, and progress.
“Build an assignment system for my coding bootcamp. Students submit project URLs and GitHub links, instructors score a rubric, resubmissions are allowed for seven days, and each student sees a progress dashboard with passed, needs revision, and missing work.”
Studio critiques
Feedback rounds before final marks.
“Build a critique workflow for a design program. Students upload work-in-progress files, receive two structured feedback rounds, final grades stay sealed until term release, and the appeal thread records any changed mark and reason.”
The staff behind the staves
Large files are normal. Videos can live in the file store with access rules per submission, so only the student and assigned jurors can open them.
The seal can be tested. A Scenario can check that a student sees “pending” before release and the grade after release, before the real workflow goes live.
Continuing education can use the same access rules. If a division sells jury-prep coaching at $340 a term, checkout can run on the conservatory’s own Stripe account and open submission rights for that term.
Email reads the calendar. Juror digests and student release notices can be scheduled from the same tables the grades live in.
Grading is one workflow in a teaching business. The courses solutions page follows the wider arc, from enrollment to certificate.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe your grading workflow, and it builds a real app for assignments, submissions, rubrics, release windows, appeals, and exports.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your assignment formats, rubrics, juror rules, release windows, and exports are built around your program.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change rubrics, release rules, late policies, appeals, reports, or file requirements by asking.
Can a student see a classmate’s video or scores?
No. Submissions and scores are scoped to their owners and assigned graders.
Can grades change after release?
Yes, through a regrade thread that records the adjustment, adjuster, timestamp, and reason.
What about late submissions?
Your policy controls it. The upload door can close at the deadline or accept late work with the flag and penalty you define.
Does Kliv charge per student?
No. Kliv does not price by student count.
Can we sell continuing-ed seats?
Yes. Payments can run through your own Stripe account, and access can follow payment status.
Can large video files be handled privately?
Yes. Files can live behind per-submission access rules.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The workflow can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
