Build an AI-powered essay grading and feedback platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your essay feedback workflow, and it builds drafts, rubric scores, approved feedback letters, student portals, packs, and an assistant grounded in your material.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a grading product with a fixed rubric — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, payments, and student portal. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account if you sell packs or subscriptions, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is an essay grading and feedback platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own essay feedback platform?
Essay coaching often depends on a specific rubric, a comment bank, and a reviewer’s judgment. Email attachments and shared documents do not show whether a student is improving, which draft got which score, or which feedback was approved.
Kliv can build the studio around your rubric. Drafts, scores, letters, questions, packs, and student access all attach to the student record, so feedback becomes a system with history.
Inside the marking pile
The platform stores the work, the rubric, the feedback, and the rules around access.
Drafts and versions
Every submission is a record with its version history. Draft two sits beside draft one, so progress can be measured.
The rubric
Criteria, point bands, and your exact wording are stored as data. Every score can name the criterion and band it came from.
Feedback letters
Letters can be assembled from your comment bank and held in a review queue. Nothing reaches a student until you approve it.
The student’s shelf
Each student sees only their own essays, scores, letters, and transcripts. Privacy is enforced by the app’s data rules.
Packs and balances
A six-essay pack can track six paid drafts. The balance decrements per draft and can point the seventh submission to checkout.
The writing assistant
The assistant answers questions from your rubric, craft guides, and the signed-in student’s own letters, never another student’s work.
An example: Marisol’s essay coaching studio
Here’s how one coaching business might use an essay feedback platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own rubric, packages, approval rules, and student portal.
A draft enters the queue
A student uploads draft one. Her pack balance drops from four to three, and the essay joins Marisol’s queue with the right rubric attached.
Scores are tied to criteria
Marisol scores evidence 3 of 5 and voice 4 of 5. Each mark stores the band wording behind it, not just the number.
Feedback waits for approval
A letter assembles from Marisol’s comment bank and stays unpublished until she signs it off.
The assistant handles follow-up questions
On Sunday night, the student asks why evidence scored a 3. The assistant answers from the rubric band and Marisol’s letter, and the exchange stays beside the essay.
Draft two shows the change
The resubmission is scored against the same criteria. Per-criterion changes show what improved and what still needs work.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include your rubric, package terms, approval step, and student access rules. Here are three to build on:
Admissions essay studio
Packs, approval queue, and student portal.
“Build an essay coaching platform where students buy a six-essay pack for $180, submit draft versions, receive rubric-scored feedback letters only after my approval, and see remaining pack balance in their portal.”
AP Language sections
Nine-point rubric with version history.
“Build an essay feedback site for my AP Language sections with a nine-point rubric, per-criterion scores, version history on every submission, a private shelf per student, and an assistant that answers only from my rubric and craft guides.”
Writing center triage
Tutors claim drafts and supervisors approve.
“Build a university writing-center platform where tutors claim submitted drafts, feedback passes through a supervisor approval queue, students book 30-minute follow-up slots, and every draft keeps its feedback history.”
Where feedback becomes a system
The pack is a real product. Kliv’s commerce tools can treat a six-essay bundle as a prepaid balance and an unlimited-revision month as a $59 subscription. When access lapses, the submit button can close on schedule because permissions follow payment.
The assistant is grounded in your standards. Upload craft guides, banned clichés, thesis advice, and rubric wording. The assistant answers from those sources and from the signed-in student’s own record.
The queue is enforced. An unsigned letter has no route to the student portal. The app can include tests that prove a draft letter stays invisible until approval.
When the studio grows into full courses with cohorts, drip lessons, and certificates, that build is covered at the courses solutions page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For essay feedback, it can build drafts, rubric records, approval queues, student portals, pack balances, and an assistant grounded in your material.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds your rubric, workflows, portals, and payment rules into software for your coaching process.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change rubric criteria, package terms, approval steps, or student portal behavior by asking for updates.
Does the AI do the grading?
No. The scores are yours. The platform stores your rubric, routes work through your approval flow, and lets the assistant explain marks from your own wording.
Can students see each other’s essays?
No. Each student’s shelf is scoped to that student, so copied links do not expose another student’s work.
What happens when a pack runs out?
The balance is authoritative. A seventh submission can be declined or sent to checkout, and a new pack opens submissions when payment completes.
Can I change my rubric mid-season?
Yes. Old scores can keep the bands they were graded under, while new submissions use the updated rubric.
Can feedback wait for approval?
Yes. Feedback letters can stay unpublished until you approve them, and the student portal only shows approved work.
Can parents or guardians see progress?
If you want that, Kliv can build a scoped view that shows the trend or status you allow, without exposing other students.
Does Kliv take a cut of essay-pack sales?
No. Payments can run through your own Stripe account; card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Can I offer subscriptions as well as packs?
Yes. The source pattern supports prepaid packs and subscriptions, with access following the product the student paid for.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app source can sync to your own Git repository, and your student records, essays, and feedback remain yours.
