Build a software asset management system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the software asset register you need, and it builds agreements, install imports, assignments, renewals, and reconciliation views.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a large SAM suite — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the records, imports, permissions, reports, and reminders. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own domain, connect it to your own accounts, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a fixed dashboard template.
On this page, that app is a software asset management system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; license registers and audit tools are one example.
Why build your own software asset register?
Large SAM suites are built for companies with thousands of seats and licensing teams. A smaller firm can still receive an audit letter, and the answer may be scattered across agreements, deployment exports, and offboarding notes.
Kliv builds the register around what was bought, what is installed, who has each seat, what renews next, and where the signed agreement lives.
What the firm is licensed to run
The register keeps the facts an audit asks for.
Agreements and entitlements
Each contract stores product, seats or network licenses, version rights, renewal date, and the signed PDF beside the numbers it supports.
The install ledger
Your deployment tool’s export can import each month and diff against the previous import. New installs are listed by machine.
Assignments
Each seat can belong to a person with a start date. When someone leaves, their assigned seats can become returnable.
The renewal calendar
Every agreement has a renewal date and a reminder, such as 90 days out, so the firm can count usage before renewing.
The reconciliation view
Entitled, installed, and assigned counts sit side by side per product, with each number traceable to the agreement or export behind it.
An example: Gwilym’s engineering firm
Here’s how one IT team might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own products, imports, and renewal rules.
The audit letter arrives
A CAD vendor asks for a deployment declaration within 30 days. Gwilym no longer has to walk the office with a clipboard.
The reconciliation view gives the first answer
The register shows 62 entitled seats and 71 installs. The nine-machine gap is listed by machine name.
The gap separates mistakes from real use
Six installs are unused plotter-room PCs imaged years ago, and three are active engineers. The firm removes six and true-ups three.
The reply traces back to records
The declaration includes counts, dates, and agreements from the register.
The monthly habit stays
The import diff keeps running after the letter is filed. The next renewal is negotiated from usage rather than fear.
Describe the register you need
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include agreements, imports, assignments, renewal reminders, and audit views. Here are three to build on:
License audit register
Entitlements, installs, assignments, and reconciliation.
“Build a software asset register with agreement records for each product, entitlement counts, renewal dates, signed PDFs, monthly install imports from our deployment tool, per-person seat assignments, and a reconciliation view showing entitled versus installed versus assigned per product.”
SaaS renewal calendar
Service owners, seat cost, and reminders.
“Build a SaaS subscription tracker where every service has an owner, per-seat cost, team, renewal date, contract file, and reminder emails 90, 30, and 7 days before each renewal.”
Seat assignment desk
Offboarding and finance totals.
“Build a seat management app where each license assignment belongs to a person and team, offboarding marks seats returnable, team leads see their team’s seats, and finance sees monthly cost totals per team.”
The quiet months between audits
The import is a function, and the drift is a diff. Your deployment tooling already knows what is installed. A server-side import can ingest its export on the first of the month and email only what changed.
Different people see different columns. Engineers can see what they hold. Team leads can see their teams. Finance can see costs and renewal dates without machine names.
Most internal tools answer to colleagues. This one is also built to answer a vendor audit. Systems with that record-first temperament live at the record-first end of Kliv.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the software asset register you need, it builds the working app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds agreement records, imports, reconciliation views, reminders, and permissions for your process.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for a new import field, renewal reminder, role, report, or product category.
Does Kliv scan our machines?
No. Your deployment tool keeps doing that job. Kliv imports its export and turns the results into a ledger and reconciliation report.
Can it track SaaS subscriptions too?
Yes. A seat or subscription can be a record either way, with owner, cost, renewal date, and assignments.
Who gets to see the money?
Whoever you allow. Costs and agreement terms can be scoped by role.
What triggers a true-up conversation?
Any month where installed or assigned counts exceed entitlements. The gap appears before a vendor asks for it.
Can it store the signed agreements?
Yes. PDFs can live in the file store beside the agreement records they support.
Can it remind us before renewals?
Yes. Renewal reminders can go out on whatever schedule you describe, such as 90 days before renewal.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The register can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
