Build a security guard scheduling and shift management system

Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your security guard scheduling and shift management system — sites, licenses, rosters, check-ins, client views, and hours evidence — and it builds the app on your own domain.

What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a generic rostering app you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, all of it. What you get is a real, working app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own domain. It isn’t a template with your name on it.

On this page, that app is a guard scheduling system for your contracts and sites. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; guard scheduling is the part this page covers.

Why build your own guard scheduling system?

Contract security does not schedule like a café. A post is a paid obligation. Each site has orders. Guards may need a license class, a site induction, or a permit. An unfilled post can be a contract breach.

Tunde’s company runs sixty guards across fourteen sites. Kliv builds the scheduler around contracts: sites, post orders, licenses, shifts, check-ins, incidents, client views, and hours evidence in one app.

The roster and what it answers to

Each record comes from the contract file and carries a rule.

Sites and post orders

A site carries its client, posts, hours, staffing requirements, and orders for the officer on duty.

Guards and licenses

Guard profiles hold license classes, expiry dates, and site inductions. Assignments fail while still in draft if the guard is not eligible.

Shift ledger

Planned hours and worked hours sit on the same shift row. Double bookings and rest-rule breaks can be refused before the roster is published.

Check-ins and checkpoint scans

Shift starts, patrol scans, and handovers arrive as timestamped rows from the guard’s phone.

Client window

A client signs in and sees coverage, incidents, and hours for their own site only.

An example: Tunde’s Northgate contract

Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own sites, contracts, license rules, and billing periods.

01

Post orders become roster rules

Tunde walks the yard and records the post orders: one officer from 18:00 to 06:00, dog handler’s permit required, three checkpoint scans per night.

02

The induction gap appears early

Planning starts that afternoon. Two guards have not completed the yard induction, so the draft roster says so a week before the shift.

03

Night coverage is logged without the office

On Friday, scans land at 18:02, 22:41, and 02:15. The office is asleep, but the rows prove the patrol happened.

04

A client dispute has evidence

The client asks whether anyone was on post when a door was found open. The answer is the scan history plus an incident note filed at 03:12.

05

The invoice carries proof

At month end, contracted hours and attested hours meet on one page. The invoice leaves with supporting rows attached.

Describe what you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include sites, post orders, license classes, rest rules, mobile check-ins, incidents, and client views. Here are three to build on:

kliv.dev

Shopping centre detail

Day and night posts with license checks and incidents.

“Build a scheduling app for mall security. Track day and night posts for each site, require the right license class on every assignment, block double-booked guards, collect checkpoint scans from phones, keep an incident log, and let each client read only their own site.”

kliv.dev

Event staffing desk

Open shifts, guard claims, and client hours.

“Build a shift management tool for event security. Publish open shifts per venue, let licensed guards claim shifts from phones, require supervisor approval for high-risk posts, and roll worked hours into a per-client hours sheet.”

kliv.dev

Mobile patrol routes

Timed scans, missed-scan alerts, and nightly summaries.

“Build a patrol management app with routes, timed checkpoint scans, missed-scan alerts after 10 minutes, incident notes with photos, and a nightly summary email to each client on our own template.”

What the contract turns into

Schedulers, guards, and clients use one database. Guards see tonight’s post and scan button. Clients see their own site. The office sees everything. Access rules make those views safe.

Calendar jobs handle recurring chores. A Monday sweep can email guards and the office about licenses expiring within sixty days. Another job can close billing periods and assemble attested hours.

A guard company’s tool is tested in the field at inconvenient hours. The internal-tools overview shows related intake desks, approval queues, and operations tools.

Common questions

What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder that builds custom web apps from a description. For guard companies, it can build rosters, license checks, post orders, mobile check-ins, incidents, client views, and billing evidence.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database, screens, and rules for your contracts and guards.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. Ask for a new license rule, rest rule, client view, checkpoint requirement, or invoice report.

What happens when a license expires mid-contract?

Before expiry, the app can email the guard and office. After expiry, assignments requiring that class can be refused.

Can a client dispute invoice hours?

They can ask, and you can answer from check-ins, checkpoint scans, and worked-hour rows for that site.

Can invoicing follow different contracts?

Yes. One site can close monthly and another per event if that is how you describe the billing periods.

Do guards need to install anything?

No. The roster, post orders, check-in, and scan button can run in a phone browser.

Can each client see only their own site?

Yes. Client access can be scoped to that client’s sites, incidents, and hours.

Can supervisors block unlicensed assignments?

The app can block those assignments automatically from the guard’s license and site-induction records.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The app can run on your own domain.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository.
