Employee & HR Management
Build an HR policy hub with an AI assistant
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your HR policy hub: uploaded handbook, role-aware answers, citations, Slack escalation for unanswered questions, transcripts, and must-read acknowledgments.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a chatbot you bolt onto a document folder. It’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the document store, search, screens, permissions, assistant behavior, escalation flow, and reports. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is an HR policy hub that answers from your handbook, cites sources, and escalates when a person should take over. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one employee and HR example.
Why build your own HR policy hub?
A handbook PDF is hard for staff to use. For a 140-person company with warehouse staff, drivers, and office employees, the same questions about rest-day pay, shift swaps, and leave can keep landing in HR’s inbox.
Kliv builds a policy hub from your documents. Employees ask in plain language, the assistant answers from the uploaded handbook, cites the section it used, and escalates when the answer is missing or needs a person.
What the hub knows
Five records make the assistant useful and auditable.
The policy corpus
Every policy is an uploaded document. Kliv indexes the documents so the assistant answers from your material, not from outside guesses.
Audiences and roles
Drivers, warehouse staff, office staff, and managers can have different policy visibility. Manager addenda can stay manager-only.
The question log
Every assistant conversation is stored as a transcript in your database, so repeated questions show where the handbook is unclear.
Escalations
If the corpus has no answer, or the question is really a request, the assistant can post to your HR Slack channel with a transcript link.
Acknowledgments
Must-read policies track who has confirmed them. The dashboard shows exactly who still has not acknowledged a required change.
An example: Marta’s cold-chain logistics company
Here’s how one HR team might use a policy hub built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own handbook, roles, sites, and escalation path.
A driver asks after hours
At 21:40, a driver asks about public-holiday pay. The assistant answers from the compensation policy, quotes the clause, and links the document while Marta is offline.
A missing answer escalates
The next day, someone asks about taking accrued leave in half days. The handbook is silent, so the assistant says so and posts the transcript to #hr-questions.
HR fills the policy gap
Marta answers the employee, then sees that the handbook caused the gap. The missing policy area is now backed by a transcript.
A revised policy becomes searchable
She uploads the amended leave policy. Kliv indexes it, and the next half-day question gets the current answer with the new clause cited.
A must-read update tracks acknowledgments
The revision is marked must-read for drivers. Staff confirm from phones, and the dashboard shows who is left.
The monthly report shows what to fix next
A scheduled email lists the most-asked questions and every escalation, so the next handbook revision starts from data.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so include the documents, audiences, escalation rules, acknowledgments, and reports. Here are three examples:
Logistics policy hub
Two warehouses, drivers, and one HR person.
“Build a policy hub for our 140-person logistics company. Warehouse staff, drivers, office staff, and managers should ask an assistant that answers from our uploaded handbook, cites the policy section, respects role-specific policies, and escalates unanswered questions to #hr-questions in Slack.”
Agency handbook assistant
Policies by team, with must-read tracking.
“Build an internal handbook site for our 40-person agency. Group policies by creative, accounts, and operations teams, add an assistant that cites the policy it used, and track must-read confirmations for new travel and expense policies.”
Multi-site HR portal
Local rules layered over company-wide ones.
“Build an HR portal for three factory sites. Each site should see its local policies plus company-wide policies, the assistant should answer from the right site corpus, and HR should receive a monthly email of the most-asked questions and escalations.”
How it comes together
It is a knowledge base, not a chat window alone. The policies you upload are indexed by meaning. The assistant retrieves the relevant clause, answers from it, and cites it.
Answers are scoped to the asker. The assistant reads under the same access rules as the app. A driver asking about a manager-only addendum does not receive that document.
Slack is the handoff, not the archive. Unanswered questions can post to the HR channel your team watches, while the transcript and policy history stay in your own database.
An HR hub is often the first internal tool a company builds this way. The wider pattern is described under internal tools.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the HR policy hub you need, and it builds the app, document store, assistant flow, permissions, and reports.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your handbook, roles, Slack escalation, transcripts, and acknowledgments are built into your own policy hub.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can upload revised policies, change audiences, add must-read tracking, or adjust escalation rules by asking.
Will the assistant make up answers it does not have?
No. It answers from the uploaded corpus and cites what it used. If the corpus is silent, it can say so and escalate.
Can managers see policies that staff cannot?
Yes. Each policy can carry an audience, enforced by access rules across browsing, search, and assistant answers.
What happens when a policy changes?
You upload the revision, and Kliv indexes it. You can also mark it must-read and track acknowledgments person by person.
Where does employee data live?
The transcripts, acknowledgments, and policy files live in your own database for the app, with access controlled by the roles you name.
Can unanswered questions go to Slack?
Yes. The hub can post to your HR Slack channel with a link to the transcript so a person can take over.
Can we see what employees ask most?
Yes. The question log can feed reports such as most-asked questions, unresolved questions, and topics that triggered escalations.
Can staff use it from phones?
Yes. It is a web app, so staff can ask questions and confirm must-read policies from a phone browser.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. The hub is its own admin for policy uploads, audience rules, page copy, and acknowledgment lists.
