Employee & HR Management
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your employee and HR management rules, and it builds a real app for records, certifications, time off, onboarding, and private documents on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
Kliv isn’t an HR suite with fixed modules — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the records, approval logic, reminders, private files, sign-in, and role-based screens. You own the result, run it on your own domain, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template with your company name on it.
On this page, that app is an HR system built around the rules of a specific workplace. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
A small machine shop’s HR work is not just an org chart. It has TIG-welding certifications that expire, forklift tickets the insurer may ask about, time-off requests that can break a shift, and contracts that should be visible to exactly the right people.
HR suites often charge per employee and expect the shop to fit their modules. Kliv builds the app around the shop’s rules instead: who sees what, which certifications gate which machines, and how a request becomes an approval.
The shop’s people, records, and rules live in one app.
One row per person: role, shift, machines they may run, and start date. The employee sees their own record, the shift lead sees the crew, and the owner sees the shop.
TIG, forklift, and first-responder certifications each carry an expiry date. The shift board can compute who is current, and reminders send 30 days before renewal is due.
A request routes to the shift lead with the roster impact beside it. A second night-shift absence for the same week is flagged before the schedule breaks.
Day one through week six becomes checkable work: safety walkthrough, machine sign-offs, locker, payroll forms, and owners for each item.
Contracts, reviews, and doctor’s notes live in the file store. Access is limited by rule, so guessing a URL returns nothing.
Here’s how one workplace might use an HR system built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own roles, shifts, certificates, documents, and approval rules.
Rosa hires a machinist for the September intake. The signed contract is uploaded to the employee file, visible only to the machinist and the owner, and a 14-item onboarding checklist appears with owners and due dates.
After the safety walkthrough, mill and lathe sign-offs are recorded as dated certifications. The shift board starts counting the machinist only for the machines she is allowed to run.
In December, the machinist requests a week off. The shift lead sees the request and the roster impact in the same view, approves from a phone, and the calendar and balance update together.
In March, the insurer asks who is forklift-certified. The answer is a query over current certification rows, not a search through binders.
Thirty days before a welding certification expires, both the employee and shift lead get the reminder. Recertification is booked before the machine schedule has to change.
At the annual review, notes go into the employee file. The employee and owner can see them; other employees cannot.
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Name your roles, shifts, approval rules, document access, and certification dates. Here are three to build on:
Employee records, certifications, shifts, and private documents.
“Build an HR system for our 35-person machine shop with two shifts. Track employee role, shift, start date, and machines they may run. Store TIG, forklift, and first-responder certifications with expiry reminders 30 days before renewal, route time-off requests to shift leads, and keep contracts visible only to the employee and owner.”
Sites, rosters, site-lead approvals, and head-office views.
“Build a crew management app for our three cleaning sites. Site leads approve hours and time off for their own site, head office sees all sites, and requests should flag when approval would leave a site below its minimum staffing level.”
Checklist templates with owners and deadlines.
“Build an onboarding tracker where each new hire gets a checklist from the template for their role. Every item has an owner, a due date relative to start date, and a completion status, and HR can see progress across the company.”
Privacy is enforced on the rows. Pay grades, reviews, and medical notes are visible only where the rule says they are. An operator’s request for a colleague’s review returns nothing at the database.
Sign-in fits the shop floor. Employees can use email and password, passkeys, or two-factor TOTP. A shared floor terminal does not have to mean one shared password protecting payroll data.
The handbook can answer questions. Upload the handbook and safety procedures to a knowledge base, and the shop’s agent can answer from them. “How far ahead must I request vacation?” cites your policy and can use the signed-in employee’s own record where it matters.
Scenario tests check the walls. Before the system holds real contracts, a test can sign in as an operator and try to open a colleague’s review. The run uses a real browser and a throwaway database, and its log shows what was refused.
An HR system is rarely the last tool a shop builds once building is this direct. The internal-tools solutions page maps the territory around it.
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the HR system you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For HR, that means records, reminders, approval flows, private files, and role-based access built around your workplace.
A real app. Kliv builds the database, screens, reminders, tests, and access rules for your case. It is not a fixed HR template.
Yes. You can add a certification type, change an approval flow, add a checklist item, or revise who can see a document by asking in plain words.
Only if your rule says so. By default, private records are not served to colleagues. Visibility is enforced by row-level security on every query.
A scheduled job scans certification rows and sends reminders on your template at the intervals you choose, such as 30 days before expiry. The shift board reads the same rows.
No. Kliv does not charge per employee record or per signed-in user of your app. Hiring another machinist is not a software line item.
Yes. Routing can go to the shift lead, then to the owner above a threshold, with roster impact shown at decision time. Your December exception can be part of the rule.
Yes, if you choose to put them there. They live in the file store and are served only to the roles you name.
Yes. The app can use email and password, passkeys, and two-factor TOTP for sensitive roles, so a shared terminal does not mean shared access.
Yes. If you upload your handbook and safety procedures, the app’s agent can answer from those documents and cite the relevant policy.
Yes. The app runs on your own domain with the roles and sign-in rules you define.
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
