What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a district school platform you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, all of it. What you get is a real, working app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own domain. It isn’t a template with your name on it.

Why build your own school management system?
Large school platforms are often built for districts and then sold to smaller schools. A 400-student primary school may have a two-person office, a fee schedule with sibling discounts, and modules it will never use. That is how schools end up back in spreadsheets.
Kliv builds from your school’s rules. The student record is shared by enrolment, the register, the timetable, term invoices, report cards, and the parent portal. One fact changes once, and every view reads it.
What the office holds
Students and guardians
Students link to one or more guardians. Each guardian signs in and sees the children linked to them, and no one else’s.
Classes and timetable
Classes have rooms, teachers, and periods. Room clashes can be refused when the timetable is written.
The register
Attendance can be daily or per period. An unexplained absence can trigger a guardian email after the delay you set.
Term fees and invoices
Issue one invoice per family per term, apply sibling discounts by rule, and take payments through checkout on the school’s own Stripe account.
Report cards and documents
Marks become report cards. Each PDF sits behind an access rule naming that student’s guardians and can release to everyone at the time you choose.
The office agent
An agent can answer from the school handbook and calendar. Signed-in guardians can ask about their own child’s attendance, and no one else’s.
An example: Priya’s primary school
Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own school structure, family rules, fees, and releases.
Enrolment creates the student record
An application arrives on Priya’s school form. Approval creates the student record, assigns a class, and invites guardians to the portal.
The family invoice applies the discount
The first term invoice is $2,150 minus the sibling discount because the student’s brother is in year 4. The family pays online and receives the school’s receipt.
Absence follow-up happens on time
The register marks the student absent at 9:05. No note arrives by 9:30, so the guardian email goes out and the reply lands on the student record.
A changed address updates every view
A guardian updates the address in the portal. The register, invoice, and emergency list all read the same updated record.
Teachers enter only their own marks
During exam week, teachers enter marks for their own classes. Rows outside their classes are not available to write.
Reports release at the same time
At 3 pm on report day, every family gets access to its own report-card PDF. No guardian sees another child’s document.

The mechanics behind the school app
Privacy can be tested. A Scenario can sign in as one guardian and try to open another child’s report card on a throwaway copy of the database. The test must be refused before publishing.
Fee day can be rehearsed. In the Sandbox, run a term’s invoicing, a failed payment, reminders, and dashboard states before connecting Stripe.
The database can grow with the school. If next year adds houses, clubs, or a second campus, you describe the change and Kliv updates the app and its data structure.
When teaching itself is the product — evening courses, summer programmes, or paid classes — the courses picture picks up where the office leaves off.

What exactly is Kliv?

Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database, logic, and screens for your school’s structure and policies.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for a new fee rule, class structure, report release, club, or portal field.
Can parents in two households both use the portal?
Yes. Guardianship is a link, not one email field. Each guardian has their own account and sees the students linked to them.
How are term fees collected?
The office can issue one invoice per family per term. Guardians pay by card through checkout on the school’s own Stripe account, with paid and unpaid status visible to the office.
Can teachers take the register on phones?
Yes. The register is a page in the app, so it works from a classroom, sports field, or trip, wherever a browser works.
Who can see report cards?
Only the guardians linked to that student, and staff roles you allow. The access rule is checked when the PDF is opened.
Can the office agent answer parent questions?
Yes. It can answer from the school handbook and calendar, and signed-in guardians can ask about their own child where you allow that.
Does Kliv take a cut of tuition payments?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Kliv does not take a percentage of each fee.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The app can run on your own domain.
What happens if we change systems later?
Your data is in your app, and the source code syncs to your own Git repository, so you are not trapped in a closed school platform.
