What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a loyalty vendor with a fixed app — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, and the workflows. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template rewards card.

On this page, that app is a loyalty and rewards program. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example for points, tiers, rewards, and campaigns.

Why run loyalty on your own system

A small chain may not need a loyalty platform with another company’s app, logo, and points rules. It needs clear answers to practical questions: who is this customer, how many points do they have, what can they redeem now, and is today a campaign day?

Kliv builds that as your own application. The points ledger, tiers, rewards catalog, register lookup, and campaigns are records and rules in your database.

What the program remembers

A rewards program is a promise with arithmetic. These records keep it honest.

The points ledger

Every earn and redemption is a row with visit, amount, and shop. A balance is a sum over history.

Members and tiers

Regular, Dozen Club, and Gold can be computed from the ledger. Reaching a tier opens its perks automatically.

The rewards catalog

A free dozen can cost 500 points. Birthday rewards can appear during a birthday month and expire afterward.

The counter lookup

Staff can find a member by phone number, see the balance, and apply a redemption on any screen at any shop.

Campaigns and windows

Double-points Tuesday can open at 6:00 and close at store close. The campaign runs on the schedule you announce.

What it is worth

Visits per member, redemption rates, and revenue by shop can show whether the program is working.

An example: Talia’s three bagel shops

Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own earning rules, rewards, tiers, campaigns, and register workflow.

01

A customer joins with a phone number

Talia’s staff signs up a customer at the register with a phone number. The confirmation email uses the shop’s wording, and the customer does not need to download an app.

02

Points turn into a free dozen

After enough visits, the ledger crosses 500 points. The register offers the free dozen and records the redemption next to the earns.

03

Gold opens without staff noticing

At 2,000 lifetime points, the member becomes Gold automatically. The perks open the next morning at all three shops.

04

The birthday reward appears on schedule

During the customer’s birthday month, the reward appears and an email tells them. It expires at month-end because the rule is on the reward.

05

Quiet customers get a win-back offer

After six quiet weeks, a scheduled job flags lapsed regulars and sends the come-back offer through the Mailchimp audience.

Describe what you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include earning rules, rewards, tiers, campaign windows, staff roles, and reports. Here are three to build on:

kliv.dev

Bagel shop points

One point per dollar, three shops.

“Build a loyalty program for our three bagel shops. Customers earn one point per dollar, staff look up members by phone number at the register, 500 points redeems a free dozen, Gold status starts at 2,000 lifetime points, Gold members get a birthday reward, and double-points Tuesdays run from 6:00 a.m. to close.”

kliv.dev

Bookshop reader card

Member pricing and early access.

“Build a rewards program for our bookstore. Members earn 10 points per dollar on books and event tickets, 1,000 points unlocks member pricing for one year, members get 48-hour early access to signed editions, and staff can adjust points with a reason recorded.”

kliv.dev

Car-wash club

Punches, not points.

“Build a punch-card program for our car wash. Staff add one punch from a tablet after each wash, every 10th wash is free, members see progress online by phone number sign-in, and unused punches never expire unless staff marks an account closed.”

Where the money meets the points

A paid tier can be part of the program. If Dozen Club costs $6 a month, the subscription can open the perk and close it if payment lapses.

Campaigns can start and stop on schedule. GRANDOPENING can give double points for a month, and the window can expire without someone editing it by hand.

You can test the math first. Rehearse a year of purchases, redemptions, and tier changes on a fast-forwarded clock before issuing real points.

The machinery underneath — catalogs, subscriptions, entitlements, refunds that wait for a human yes — is the commerce engine. See the commerce page.

Common questions

What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the custom web app you need, it builds it, and you own the result. For loyalty, that means points, tiers, rewards, campaigns, staff lookup, and reporting.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database, ledger, staff screens, member screens, and rules for your program.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can change earning rates, rewards, campaign windows, tiers, or reports later.

Does it work across all our locations?

Yes. One database can serve every till. A member can earn at one shop and redeem at another.

Do customers need an app?

No. Members can check points and rewards in a browser, and staff can run lookup on any device with a screen.

Can staff adjust points?

Yes, with the right role. Every manual adjustment can be recorded as a ledger row with the staff member and reason.

What keeps balances honest?

The ledger. A balance is computed from earn and redemption history, not typed in as a loose number.

Can I run double-points campaigns?

Yes. Campaign windows can start and stop on schedule, such as every Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to close.

Can I add a paid club later?

Yes. A paid tier can run through your own Stripe account and open perks while the subscription is active.

Do members need their own Stripe accounts?

No. If you sell a paid tier, members pay by card through your own Stripe account.

Does Kliv take a cut of purchases or rewards?

No. Payments, if you use them, run on your Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
