Sell anything, right from your app
Products, subscriptions, checkout — describe what you want to sell and Kliv builds the whole storefront. You own the experience; Kliv handles the payments, orders, and billing.
Built-in commerce engine
A commerce engine built in, not a store added on top
Kliv has a real commerce engine built in — catalog, checkout, subscriptions, tax, fulfillment, and billing that all work together. There's no separate store to connect and no plugins to keep in sync. You just describe what you need, and it's there.
The life of a sale
The best way to judge a commerce engine is to follow one purchase all the way through. Here is what happens — and what you never had to build.
Catalog
Describe what you sell and it becomes data: products, prices, features, meters. The pricing page, the checkout, and the feature gates all read the same catalog — there is exactly one authoritative answer to what a given price includes.
Checkout
Embedded in your app on your own domain, or hosted if you prefer. Tax calculated, payment collected, receipt sent — and a customer record created with the order attached.
Entitlement
The purchase opens what it promised, immediately: the plan's features, the gated files, the members-only pages. No webhook code to maintain, no nightly sync — access opens the moment payment clears, because they are the same system.
Renewal
Subscriptions renew on schedule, with fair proration for mid-cycle changes. Customers upgrade, downgrade, pause, and resume on their own billing page — without emailing you.
Recovery
An expired card looks like a lost customer. It isn't — it's a mechanical hiccup the system clears on its own. Failed payments are retried on a schedule while recovery emails ask the customer to update the card — most would-be cancellations are saved before anyone notices.
Refund
A refund request waits for your approval before money moves — a decision, not an accident. Prefer goodwill? Issue a credit instead, and it applies to their next invoice.
Tax
Calculated at checkout from the registrations you hold, collected with the payment, reported in file-ready form. The tax on the receipt and the tax in the report are the same number.
The record
Every order, invoice, refund, and credit lands on the customer's record — the history your support agent answers from, your analytics count, and your accountant closes the books on. When a customer asks to be exported or erased, that's a single action, not a hunt across half a dozen systems.
Everything a real store needs
Built in, managed for you, and yours to control.
A storefront from a conversation
Catalog, pricing pages, and a checkout that works on the first try — embedded in your app or hosted for you. Describe what you're selling and it's live.
Subscriptions done right
Plans, free trials, upgrades and downgrades with fair proration, pause and resume. The finicky details of recurring billing are handled for you.
Sell features, not just products
Put any part of your app behind a plan. Customers unlock exactly what they pay for — enforced automatically, right down to the data.
Usage-based pricing
Charge per unit of value — per render, per consult, per extra brief. Meters count each customer's signed-in activity and bill with the subscription.
Orders and fulfillment
Real order management — shipping, charge-on-ship, cancellations, and refunds — not just a list of unmatched payments to reconcile.
Own your billing experience
Give customers a self-service billing page inside your app — update cards, switch plans, view invoices — instead of sending them off to someone else's portal.
Stop losing revenue to expired cards
When a payment fails, Kliv automatically retries it and emails the customer to fix it — quietly recovering subscriptions you'd otherwise lose, without you having to send a single reminder.
Sales tax and VAT, handled
Register where you owe, calculate automatically at checkout, and get file-ready reports — without ever leaving Kliv.
Six ways to price, one catalog
Businesses rarely charge one way. Every model below coexists in the same catalog, grants entitlements the same way, and appears on the same billing page.
Subscriptions
Monthly or annual, with trials, fair proration, pause and resume. The recurring-billing details that take teams months are the default behavior.
One-time purchases
A product, a lifetime unlock, a spot in a cohort — sold once, kept for good, coexisting with subscriptions.
Metered usage
A base plan plus a price per unit of value. Customers see what they've used before the invoice ever arrives.
Bundles & collections
Things that sell together, priced together — each item unlocks separately in the buyer's collection.
Promotion codes & scheduled prices
Introductory prices that open and close on schedule, codes for your subscribers — the calendar you announce is the one the store enforces.
Free products
Free products run through the same checkout and entitlement flow — a $0 product builds your customer list the way a sale does.
The parts nobody budgets for
Every store plan covers checkout. This is the work that actually consumes your first year — already handled.
Refund approvals
Money leaves only after someone says yes — every refund is a recorded decision with a name on it.
Credits
Goodwill without a refund: issue a credit and it applies to the customer's next invoice.
B2B invoices
Customers add their tax ID, invoices carry it, and finance departments stop emailing you.
Lifecycle email
Receipts, renewal reminders, failed-payment recovery, welcome mail — on your templates, automatically.
Data requests
Export or erase a customer on request — compliance as an action, not a project.
The operator's view
Pending refunds, subscription states, usage per customer — the back office is part of the same app.
Test before you ship
Build and test your whole store before you charge a single customer
Start in the Sandbox — a complete store with simulated money and nothing to sign up for. Then fork a Scenario and fast-forward time to watch a year of renewals, trials, and failed payments play out in seconds. You see exactly what your customers will experience, long before they experience it.
See how it worksGo live when you're ready
When it's time for real money, connect Stripe in a few clicks — Kliv walks you through it, including the verification Stripe needs before your first payout.
How going live worksCommon questions
Do I need a Stripe account to start?
No. You build and test the entire store in the Sandbox with simulated money — checkout, subscriptions, refunds, failed cards. Stripe enters when you're ready for real money, and Kliv walks you through connecting it.
Whose Stripe account do payments go to?
Yours. Kliv connects to your own Stripe account — the customers, the charges, and the payouts belong to you.
Can I mix subscriptions, one-time products, and metered pricing?
Yes — they're shapes in one catalog, not separate systems. A customer can hold a subscription, own a lifetime unlock, and accrue metered usage at once, and it all lands on one billing page.
What happens when a customer's card fails?
The charge is retried on a schedule and recovery emails go out with a link to fix the card. Access can narrow while billing is unresolved instead of being cut off all at once — and most failures recover.
How do refunds work?
A refund request routes to an approval step; money moves only after someone approves it. For goodwill cases you can issue a credit instead, which applies to the next invoice.
Does it handle VAT and B2B customers?
Yes — register the jurisdictions where you owe, and tax calculates at checkout and reports file-ready. Business customers can add their tax ID, and it appears on their invoices.
