    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t an LMS you buy and configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, and the workflows. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template with your logo on it.

On this page, that app is a learning management system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example for training, compliance, and course records.

    Why build your own LMS

An off-the-shelf LMS is built for someone else’s training program. A food-processing plant may not need badges or leaderboards. It needs to know which workers are current on hygiene, forklift, and allergen-control training, and it needs to prove that quickly during an audit.

Kliv builds the LMS from your actual rules: which roles need which courses, what score counts as a pass, what happens after a failed quiz, and when certifications expire. Then “who is current?” becomes a database question, not a binder someone maintains.

    What the training record holds

Compliance training works when the training record has the right facts and rules.

    Courses and modules

Videos, documents, and quizzes can run in sequence. A module can require the one before it, and that order is enforced by the app.

    Cohorts and roles

Line workers, line leads, and contractors can each carry their own required courses. A new hire is enrolled because of their role.

    Attempts and pass marks

Every quiz attempt records the score, time, and questions. If the score is below the threshold, no certificate is issued.

    Certifications and expiry

A pass issues a certificate with an expiry date. Reminders can go out at 60 and 30 days, and a lapsed certificate stops counting as current.

    The auditor’s view

One report shows every person, every requirement, current or lapsed, with dates. The audit becomes an export instead of a week of reconstruction.

    The policy agent

Your SOPs and handbooks can live in a knowledge base. A worker can ask which course covers a line, and the answer comes from your own documents.

    An example: Elena’s food-processing plant

Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own courses, roles, pass marks, and certification rules.

    01

A new hire is enrolled by role

Elena’s plant creates an account for a new line worker. Their role enrolls them in hygiene, allergen control, and machine safety without anyone building a manual list.

    02

A failed quiz does not issue a certificate

The worker scores 72% on allergen control. The attempt is recorded, but it is not a pass, and the retake waits for the supervisor sign-off Elena’s policy requires.

    03

A pass updates the shift-planning view

When the worker passes, the certificate is issued. The shift-planning view now counts them as assignable for the work that requires that certification.

    04

Expiry reminders start before the deadline

Sixty days before expiry, the worker gets a reminder. Thirty days before expiry, the supervisor is copied. The messages use the plant’s wording and schedule.

    05

The refresher follows a different rule

The 12-month refresher can be shorter than the original course. The new certificate replaces the old one with a fresh expiry date.

    06

The audit report reads the history

When an auditor asks who was current on June 1, the report comes from the rows: every certificate, every date, and every lapse.

Describe what you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include roles, required courses, pass marks, expiry windows, and reports. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    Plant safety training

    Roles, pass marks, expiring certificates.

“Build an LMS for our food-processing plant. New line workers must complete hygiene, allergen-control, and machine-safety courses. Quizzes require an 80% score. A failed quiz requires supervisor sign-off before retake. Certificates expire after 12 months, with reminders at 60 and 30 days, and the auditor report must show who is current by role and date.”

    kliv.dev

    Customer academy

    Ordered onboarding modules for customers.

“Build a customer training portal for our inventory software. Each customer account gets five onboarding modules in order, each module has a quiz that must pass before the next unlocks, admins can see completion by customer account, and customers get a completion certificate when all modules are done.”

    kliv.dev

    Continuing education

    Credit hours and verifiable certificates.

“Build a continuing-education LMS for licensed professionals. Sell individual courses for $79 each, record credit hours per course, require all quizzes to pass at 80%, issue certificates with verification codes, and show each learner’s progress toward a 24-hour annual requirement.”

What the platform brings to class

Training files stay gated by enrollment. Videos and documents are private by default. A contractor sees the induction course they were assigned, not the plant’s entire SOP shelf.

You can charge outside learners when needed. If contractors need a $95 induction course, the same system can sell it. Checkout runs on your own Stripe account, and payment opens the course.

The LMS can change as the plant changes. New line, new allergen rule, new role: describe the change, and Kliv updates the app. You can keep a snapshot before trying larger changes.

An LMS for paying students, marketing pages, curricula, and community is a different shape. That is covered on the courses solution page.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the custom web app you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For an LMS, that means courses, roles, quiz rules, certifications, reminders, and reports built around your program.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database, logic, and screens for your training rules. It is not a generic LMS skin with a few settings changed.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can ask to add a course, change a pass mark, change expiry rules, add reports, or create a new learner role later.

Can it prove compliance to an auditor?

It can produce the records: who took what, when, what they scored, and when each certification expires. The standard you need to satisfy is yours; the system’s job is to keep the evidence clear.

    What happens when someone fails?

The failed attempt is recorded and no certificate is issued. Your retake policy can require a waiting period, supervisor sign-off, or an attempt limit.

Can workers use it on the floor?

Yes. It runs in a browser on a shared tablet or phone, with real accounts so each attempt is tied to the right person.

    Do we pay per learner?

No. Kliv does not price your app by learner count. Three hundred employees and three thousand quiz attempts are still your training system.

Can outside contractors pay for required training?

Yes, if that is how your program works. You can sell a course through checkout on your own Stripe account and open access when payment succeeds.

Do learners need their own Stripe accounts?

No. If you charge for a course, learners pay by card. Payments run through your own Stripe account.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The LMS can run on your own domain, with sign-in and access rules for learners, managers, and auditors.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
