    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a course product you configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the lessons, the practice logic, the booking rules, the member areas, and the payment flow when you need one. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template course site.

On this page, that app is a language learning and practice platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one is for teachers with their own method, drills, speaking practice, and subscriptions.

Why build your own language platform?

Large language apps teach many learners the same material in the same order. A teacher with a specific method may need a different shape: kanji before vocabulary, output from the start, grammar drilled in context, or small speaking tables where mistakes are safe.

Kliv builds the platform around that method. Tracks, drills, bookings, subscriptions, learner records, and teacher-authored notes can all live in one app instead of being spread across a course platform, calendar, and spreadsheet.

    What the platform knows

A practice platform remembers where each learner stands and what should happen next.

    Learners and levels

Each learner has placement result, current track, drill streak, and speaking-table history.

    Tracks and lessons

Ordered lessons from N5 through N2 can include grammar notes and audio. A subscription tier controls which tracks are open.

    Drill decks

Daily ten-minute decks can be scheduled around weak points. Recent misses return before older wins.

    Speaking tables

Weekly video tables can have six seats. The seventh learner is offered the next table because capacity is enforced.

    The teacher’s assistant

An agent can answer grammar questions from the teacher’s uploaded notes and link to the lesson it used.

    The subscription

Monthly track tiers can open higher levels. A lapse closes paid tracks on your schedule while preserving the learner record.

An example: Aiko’s Japanese practice platform

Here’s how one teacher might use a language platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own language, tracks, drills, tables, pricing, and support rules.

    01

    Placement opens the right track

A new learner takes a short placement test. The result writes to the learner record and opens the right starting track, so nobody repeats material they already know.

    02

    Daily drills build the habit

Ten-minute drill decks arrive each day. An evening nudge sends only to learners whose deck is untouched; learners on a streak are left alone.

    03

    Speaking tables respect capacity

The learner books a Thursday table. Six seats mean six learners, with confirmation and calendar reminders sent from Aiko’s templates.

    04

The assistant answers from Aiko’s notes

The learner asks why 食べられる appears in an example sentence. The assistant answers from Aiko’s grammar notes and links the lesson where she explains it.

    05

A paid tier unlocks the next level

When the learner outgrows N4, she switches tiers on her billing page. The N3 track opens immediately because access follows the subscription.

    06

    Progress becomes a report

After 90 days, a scheduled digest summarizes streak, drills cleared, and tables attended. Retention becomes something Aiko can see.

Describe the language platform you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Say how levels work, what learners practice daily, how speaking seats are booked, what is free, and what is paid. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    JLPT practice tracks

Graded tracks, daily drills, and speaking tables.

“Build a Japanese practice platform for JLPT learners. Include N5 to N2 lesson tracks, ten-minute daily drill decks with streaks and review scheduling, six-seat weekly speaking tables, a free N5 sampler, and paid monthly tiers at $19 per month that unlock higher tracks.”

    kliv.dev

    Conversation club

Themed tables and weekly vocabulary decks.

“Build a Spanish conversation club site where members pay $15 per month, book themed video tables capped at five seats, receive a weekly vocabulary deck matched to the theme, and get reminders if they have not practiced before their table.”

    kliv.dev

    Exam writing coach

Essay submissions with paid review packs.

“Build an IELTS writing practice platform where students submit essays, receive my marked feedback per band criterion, buy packs of five reviews for $60, and see a progress chart by criterion over time.”

    How it comes together

The method is data. Tracks, decks, and review schedules are rows in your database. When you reorder a track or retire a drill, you describe the change and the app changes with it.

The assistant uses your material. It is grounded in the knowledge base you author: grammar notes, lessons, and transcripts. It can also see the signed-in learner’s record, so a question can get a personal answer. Every conversation can be reviewed.

Money matches practice. A $19 monthly tier, a free N5 sampler, and promotion codes for January can run through checkout on your own Stripe account. You can test renewals and lapses with test payments before real cards are charged.

Speaking tables, drills, and streaks are one part of teaching online. When the teaching grows into cohort courses with certificates and drip curricula, the course-platform page shows the wider shape.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For language learning, it can build tracks, lessons, drills, bookings, subscriptions, learner records, and progress reports.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database and practice flow around your teaching method.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can add lessons, reorder tracks, change drill rules, adjust speaking-table capacity, or change pricing later.

Can I author drills without code?

Yes. Drills, tracks, and lessons are content in your database with admin screens built for you.

What enforces the seat limit on speaking tables?

The booking table enforces capacity. A seventh learner is offered another table instead of overbooking.

Can learners talk to each other between sessions?

Yes. Table-mates can have a shared thread scoped to their group if you want that feature.

Do lapsed learners lose their history?

No. A lapse can close paid tracks, but the learner record, streak, placement, and drill history stay.

Can the assistant answer from my notes?

Yes. You can upload your own grammar notes and lessons, and the assistant can cite or link the material it used.

    Do learners need Stripe accounts?

No. Learners just pay by card if you charge. Payments run through your own Stripe account.

Does Kliv take a cut of subscriptions?

No. Payments run through your Stripe account, and card fees are between you and Stripe.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The platform can run on your own domain.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository.
