Build a knowledge management and collaboration platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your knowledge system — documents, pages, project rooms, semantic search, cited answers, and weekly changes — and it builds the app.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a wiki product you rent — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the file handling, the permissions, the screens, the search, and the agent behavior. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a generic workspace.
On this page, that app is a knowledge management and collaboration platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one is for teams that need their own archive, pages, project rooms, and cited answers.
Why the shared drive is not enough
A shared drive can store files without remembering what they mean. A folder named final_v3_FINAL does not tell a new hire which municipality accepts which groundwater method, where the 2009 sediment study lives, or whether a document is confidential to a project team.
Kliv builds the knowledge system as the firm’s own application: documents, pages, projects, and people in one database, searchable by meaning, with access rules written where the data lives.
Where the knowledge lives
Six kinds of team memory, with the walls attached.
The document archive
Reports, surveys, and permit decisions are files with fields that matter: site, municipality, methodology, year, and project. Files are private by default.
Search by meaning
A search for old contaminated harbour sludge data can surface the right sediment study even if the filename says nothing useful.
Living pages
Methods, checklists, and municipal notes are pages the team edits. Every edit keeps author and date.
Project rooms
Client-confidential material is scoped to the assigned team. The boundary sits on records and files, not on memory.
The firm’s agent
The agent answers from the archive and attaches the source document, so answers can be checked and weak pages can be fixed.
The weekly delta
A scheduled digest can email what changed: new uploads, revised methods, and fresh pages.
An example: Margit’s environmental consultancy
Here’s how one firm might use a knowledge platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own archive, fields, project rooms, search rules, and approval flow.
The old archive becomes searchable
Two decades of PDFs are bulk-uploaded into the file store. The semantic index reads them, including scanned reports that have not been opened since 2011.
Interviews become living pages
Juniors sit with Margit and turn practical knowledge into pages: which municipality wants which sampling method, and why. Each page links to the reports that support it.
The agent answers with citations
Partners ask what they would have asked Margit. When the answer cites a source, the document opens beside it. When it is wrong, the team fixes the page or upload it used.
A retirement stops being a crisis
Margit leaves in June. The knowledge she helped organize stays in the archive, pages, fields, and cited answers.
A new hire finds the right study
In September, a new hire asks for old data on contaminated harbour sludge and finds the 2009 sediment study by describing it.
A regulator’s question becomes a query
When a regulator asks which projects used a superseded methodology, the answer comes from document fields and project records instead of a month of opening files.
Describe the knowledge platform you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Say what documents you have, what fields matter, who can see which rooms, and what the agent should cite. Here are three to build on:
Consultancy knowledge base
Reports with fields and answers with citations.
“Build a knowledge base for our engineering consultancy. Upload reports with project, client, municipality, year, and methodology fields. Staff should search by meaning, project rooms should restrict confidential material to assigned teams, and an agent should answer methodology questions with citations to the source document.”
Agency playbook wiki
Pages, client rooms, edit history, and a digest.
“Build an internal wiki for our marketing agency. Include playbook pages with edit history, a private room per client team, review states for pages that need lead approval, and a Friday digest of everything that changed.”
Field manual
Manuals and incident reports available from phones.
“Build a knowledge platform for our wind-turbine service crews. Store manuals and incident reports in one archive, let technicians ask questions from their phones, and make every answer cite the exact document it came from while respecting team permissions.”
Underneath the wiki
Files, search, and answers share permissions. Files go into a store with access rules. A semantic index makes them findable by meaning. The agent reads with the asker’s permissions, so a confidential project can be answered only inside that project’s room.
Collaboration is data. Comments, mentions, review states, authors, and dates are records. A method page can require partner sign-off before it counts as current practice because that is the workflow you described.
The memory stays yours. The app’s source can sync to a Git repository you control, and the archive is files and rows in your database.
A wiki is often the first internal tool a team builds, not the last. See what teams build next once the archive is in place.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For knowledge management, it can build document archives, pages, project rooms, search, cited answers, and digests.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the records, permissions, search, and screens around your team’s archive and workflow.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add fields, change approval rules, add project-room types, or adjust how the agent answers.
Is client-confidential material safe in one system?
Project rooms scope files and records to the assigned team. The agent reads with the same limits as the signed-in user.
What does loading years of documents involve?
You can bulk upload the files, then describe the fields you want: site, year, method, client, project, or anything else that matters. Indexing builds as documents arrive.
How is this different from renting a wiki?
It is your application, with your fields, approval flow, project data, and access rules. It can grow into other internal tools in the same database.
Can the agent answer clients too?
Yes, if you build that deliberately. A client-facing agent can be restricted to published or client-approved material while the internal one sees more.
Does the agent cite sources?
Yes. Answers can include the source documents or pages they came from, so people can check the original.
Can we search scanned PDFs?
Yes, the archive can include scanned reports as part of the indexed document set.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. Pages, documents, fields, and page text can be edited inside the app.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The platform can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your archive remains files and rows you control.
