Build internal tools by describing them
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the dispatch board, approval queue, tracker, roles, rules, and audit trail you need, and it builds a real app for your team.

What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a form builder or a per-seat operations platform — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, rules, screens, sign-in, roles, and workflows. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can keep changing it by asking. It isn’t a template your team has to work around.
On this page, that app is an internal tool. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; dispatch boards, approval queues, trackers, and operations dashboards are common examples.
Why build your own internal tools?
Many companies have a spreadsheet doing the work of a real system. It might track jobs, parts, customers, warranty claims, approvals, and schedules. It works until two people edit at once, the wrong person sees a customer address, or nobody can say who changed Tuesday’s route.
Kliv builds the tool around the way your operation actually works. You describe the records, roles, and rules, and it builds a real app for the office and the field.
What the dispatch board knows
An internal tool earns its keep by holding the rules the spreadsheet only implied.
Jobs
Every job has a status, assigned technician, appliance serial number, and driveway photos. A job cannot close while its parts request is still open if that is the rule you set.
Technicians and roles
Dispatchers see the whole board. A technician signs in and sees today’s route and nothing else. Access is based on roles and rows.
Parts requests
A request rides on the job it belongs to: submitted from the van, approved in the office, and marked received at the shop.
Warranty claims
Serial number, fault code, plate photo, manufacturer deadline, and status stay visible to the office instead of disappearing into an inbox.
Audit trail
Every change to every job is recorded: who moved it, when, and from what to what. The schedule argument ends by reading the record.
Manuals agent
Service manuals and bulletins can be indexed so an agent answers from your documents. The answer is logged beside the job it touched.
An example: Lena’s appliance-repair dispatch board
Here’s how one repair company might use an internal tool built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own jobs, roles, and approvals.
The board replaces the spreadsheet
The day’s jobs live as records. Dispatch assigns them, and each technician’s phone shows their own route. The group text goes quiet.
A warranty claim starts from the driveway
A technician photographs a serial plate and files the claim on the job record. The office sees it before the van leaves.
Parts move through approval
A compressor request enters the approval queue. The office approves it, and the shop’s Slack channel gets the update from the app.
A reschedule stays honest
An afternoon job moves to next week. The board updates, the technician’s route changes, and the audit trail stores who changed it and when.
The owner reads the digest
Friday evening, a digest sends itself: jobs closed, parts pending, claims filed. The old spreadsheet becomes seed data for the app.
Describe the internal tool you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include records, roles, permissions, workflows, reports, and edge cases. Here are three to build on:
Dispatch board
Jobs, routes, photos, parts, and audit trail.
“Build a dispatch board for our appliance-repair company. Office staff assign service jobs to 12 technicians, technicians update status and upload photos from their phones, parts requests require office approval, and every schedule change is logged with who changed it and when.”
Purchase approvals
Requests routed by amount and posted to Slack.
“Build a purchase-approval tool for our 85-person agency. Employees submit requests with vendor, amount, budget code, and receipt. Anything over $500 needs a manager, anything over $5,000 needs a director, and approved requests post to our finance Slack channel.”
Onboarding tracker
New-hire checklists with owners and overdue email.
“Build an employee onboarding tracker. Each new hire gets a checklist, IT owns laptop and account tasks, HR owns contracts and payroll, the manager owns first-week tasks, and every Friday email lists anything overdue.”
How it comes together
It changes as the operation changes. A new fridge line can need a commissioning checklist. You describe the new fields and workflow, and Kliv updates the app without starting over.
Changes can be tested before they publish. You can ask for tests, including a Scenario where a technician tries to see another van’s route on a throwaway database. The refusal is logged, and publishing waits for tests to pass.
Nothing about it is hostage. The tool’s source syncs to your own repo, and your data is rows you can export. Leaving is a git pull, not a migration project.
Internal tools rarely come alone. A dispatch board may lead to a parts catalog or supplier tracker. The wider pattern is laid out on the internal-tools solution page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For internal tools, it builds the database, roles, workflows, screens, and rules your team needs.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. It has your records, permissions, and workflows, not a generic tool with renamed fields.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add fields, screens, reports, roles, imports, and workflow steps by asking for changes.
Do we pay per user?
No. Kliv is a plan for you, the builder. Whether four people or forty sign in to your app is not a per-seat line item.
Can field staff use it on their phones?
Yes. It is a responsive web app on your own domain. A technician can sign in from the van and see only the rows their role allows.
What happens to the spreadsheet?
You can import it. Describe an import page, upload the sheet, map the columns, and the history becomes rows. Export works the other way at any time.
Can we change it without breaking Tuesday?
Yes. Snapshots are restore points, visual edits stay invisible until publish, and tests can gate releases.
Can it connect to Slack?
Yes, where you ask for it. For example, a parts approval can post to a Slack channel, and a Slack message can create a ticket if you build that workflow.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The tool can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your data can be exported.
Do I need a separate admin tool?
No. The app can include its own admin screens, imports, dashboards, and record editors.
Can the app enforce permissions?
Yes. Roles and row-level rules can decide which jobs, customers, routes, and reports each signed-in person can see.
