Build a flood monitoring and response system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your flood monitoring and response system — gauges, levee segments, pump stations, stage checklists, public status, and logs — and it builds the app on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a generic incident log or dashboard product — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, forms, maps, checklists, public pages, roles, and exports. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template with gauge fields added.
On this page, that app is a flood monitoring and response desk. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this page focuses on readings, stages, pumps, inspections, public status, and event records.
Why build your own flood response system?
During a flood, the work and the record happen at the same time: who read the gauge, what stage was declared, which pump ran, which road closed, and who did each action. Rebuilding that later is slow and unreliable.
Kliv builds the system around the district’s gauges, levee segments, pump stations, trigger stages, and reimbursement records, so the log is written while the work happens.
What the district watches
The desk is quiet most of the year, but these records matter when water rises.
Gauges and readings
Every reading stores the gauge, number, reader, observed time, and filed time. Trends come from rows, not memory.
Levee segments
Named segments can hold inspection history, seep spots, landowner contacts, and map location.
Pump stations
Each pump station can keep service history, run logs, maintenance notes, and budget history.
Trigger stages and checklists
When a reading crosses a stage line, the stage checklist can open with owners and recorded completions.
Event log
Pump starts, patrols, road closures, sandbag deliveries, equipment hours, and attachments can all become timestamped log entries.
Public status page
Residents can see current stage and road status from the same records, while operational notes and contacts stay private.
An example: Ramona’s drainage district
Here’s how one district might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own gauges, stages, pumps, roads, roles, and claim format.
The first high reading starts the trend
Ramona’s patroller logs Gauge 7 two feet above seasonal, with observed and filed times. Nothing activates yet, but the trend is recorded.
A stage line opens the checklist
A later reading crosses stage two. Patrols are assigned by segment, sandbag stock is counted, and the board notification is sent from the checklist.
Pump history supports the budget case
Pump 4 overheats after nineteen hours. The note lands beside the similar 2023 entry, so the rebuild request has history behind it.
The public page gets the safe version
Road status and current stage update for residents. Patrol notes and landowner contacts stay visible only to district roles.
The claim exports from the event log
After the water drops, Ramona exports hours, actions, equipment time, timestamps, names, and attachments for the reimbursement file.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include assets, readings, triggers, roles, public fields, and export formats. Here are three to build on:
Levee district desk
Readings, stages, pumps, and claims.
“Build an operations desk for our levee district. Patrollers should log gauge readings with observed time and filed time, stage thresholds should open checklists with owners, pump stations should keep service logs and run hours, and the event log should export reimbursement claims with timestamps, names, equipment hours, and attachments.”
Town flood response
Rainfall, gauges, roads, and public status.
“Build a flood response tool for our public works crew with rainfall entries, gauge readings, road closures with reopen states, assignment notices for crews, and a public status page that shows only stage and road status from the same records.”
Reservoir release log
Operator records and downstream notices.
“Build a reservoir operations log where each release change records the operator, time, amount, reason, downstream notification emails, and an export for annual review by date range.”
Machinery for the quiet months
Readiness can be scheduled. Monthly pump test runs, quarterly levee walks, and gauge calibration can open tasks and remind owners until entries exist.
Alerts can carry the district’s voice. Stage changes and patrol assignments can send district emails and Slack messages when the stage flips.
Two audiences can read the same records differently. Operations staff see patrol notes and contacts. Residents see stage and road status. The difference is access, not a second copy.
Specialized district software has a small market. Kliv’s approach is internal tools built one district at a time.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For flood response, it can build gauge forms, maps, checklists, pump records, public pages, alerts, and exports.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your gauges, stages, pump stations, roads, roles, and claim format are built into the workflow.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add gauges, change thresholds, adjust checklists, add public fields, or change export formats later.
What happens when a patroller has no signal?
Readings can store both observed time and filed time, so an entry made later still lands at the right point in the event history.
Can residents see the operations side?
No. The public page can show stage and road status while patrol notes, seep watches, and landowner contacts stay private to signed-in roles.
Does it call the crew out?
It can send the notices you configure: stage-change emails, Slack messages, and assignment emails. Phone calls can remain a human process.
Will the log satisfy a reimbursement audit?
The log can be shaped around actions, operators, timestamps, equipment hours, and attachments, then exported in the format your state expects.
Can it track pump maintenance outside flood events?
Yes. Pump service history, test runs, run hours, and repair notes can stay on each pump station record.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The operations app and public status page can run on your own domain.
Will the public page show up in search?
Yes. Public pages are prerendered and readable to search engines, with a sitemap generated for the site.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. The app is its own admin for records, public text, status fields, checklists, and exports.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
