Build an animal rescue and welfare platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your rescue’s intake, foster rules, vet records, adoption process, donor giving, and reports, and it builds the platform around them.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a fixed shelter database — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, forms, public pages, private portals, payments, files, reminders, reports, and admin screens. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, live on your own domain, and you can keep changing it by asking for changes.
On this page, that app is an animal rescue and welfare platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; nonprofit and civic tools are one example.
Why build your own animal rescue platform?
A foster-based rescue needs to know more than a spreadsheet can show: where each animal is tonight, which vaccines are due, which foster has capacity, which adoption applications are waiting, and what the county report needs this month.
Kliv builds one system around those records. Animals, fosters, applications, vet files, donors, and reports live in the same database the rescue owns.
What the intake book holds
These records replace the whiteboard, binder, and group chats.
The animal record
Intake date, source, microchip, temperament notes, current placement, and status: quarantine, foster, adoptable, or adopted. The public adoptable page is a filter on this table.
Foster homes
Capacity, yard, other pets, children, and current animals. A foster signs in and sees their own animals, notes, dates, and pickup logistics.
Vet history and documents
Every visit and vaccine is a dated entry with clinic paperwork in the file store. Certificates can follow the animal to its adopter.
Adoption applications
Applications land in a queue with states: received, reference-checked, home-check scheduled, approved. Two coordinators do not call the same family twice.
Donors and monthly sustainers
One-time gifts and monthly giving run on the rescue’s own Stripe account, tied to the person you thank later.
An example: Nora’s foster-based dog rescue
Here’s how one rescue might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own animals, fosters, adoption rules, and reports.
A stray gets an intake record
Animal control drops off a shepherd mix. A volunteer creates the record on a phone: photo, weight, chip scan, and intake source. Quarantine starts, and the county report gains a row.
Vet work becomes reminders and files
Vaccines, bloodwork, and dental notes are attached to the vet visit. A booster due in three weeks becomes a reminder for whoever fosters him.
Placement uses foster constraints
The system helps find fosters with capacity and no cats. The Hendersons accept, and feeding notes plus vet dates are waiting when they sign in.
Applications move through review states
The dog goes public and 11 applications arrive. Reference checks and home-check scheduling happen in the queue instead of across two coordinators’ inboxes.
Adoption closes the record properly
The adopter pays the $150 adoption fee at checkout, the contract is signed and stored, and vaccine certificates transfer with the record.
An alumni photo supports the next donation drive
Six months later, the adopter submits a photo. A volunteer approves it from the moderation queue, and it appears in the success-story gallery.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Describe intake, placement rules, vet files, application states, fees, donors, and reports. Here are three to build on:
Foster-based dog rescue
Placements, vet files, adoption applications, and fees.
“Build an animal rescue and welfare platform for our foster-based dog rescue. Track intake records, foster assignments by capacity and household constraints, vet history with documents, an adoptable-animals page, adoption applications with review states, and a $150 adoption fee at checkout.”
Cat sanctuary
Long-term residents and monthly sponsors.
“Build a cat sanctuary platform where each resident cat has a profile, medical history, and private update feed. Let supporters sponsor a specific cat monthly at $25, pay through our Stripe account, and receive approved updates for that cat.”
County welfare coalition
Shared reporting with rescue-level privacy.
“Build a coalition platform where member rescues log intakes and outcomes into a shared county database, each rescue sees only its own animals, and the county receives aggregate monthly reports by source, outcome, and date.”
The parts that carry weight
Monthly donors stay recoverable. Sustainer giving runs as subscriptions. If a card expires, retries and a recovery email run before the donor is treated as lost.
Private records stay private. Foster addresses, adopter references, and medical costs are scoped in the database. A foster sees their animals; an applicant sees their application; the board sees totals. The public sees the adoptable page.
The county report writes itself. Intake, outcome, and dates are rows, so the monthly report can be a scheduled job that assembles the month and emails it on the first.
Photos have approval steps. Animal galleries live in the file store, with full-resolution intake shots for records and public images that publish only after a person approves them. Campaigns, volunteers, and grants are the rest of the mission’s machinery; see the nonprofits solutions page for how the whole organization runs on the same foundation.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder that creates custom web apps from a description. For a rescue, it builds animal records, foster portals, vet files, adoption applications, payments, donor records, reports, and admin screens.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds around your intake flow, foster rules, adoption states, donor needs, and reporting obligations.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add animal fields, change review states, add a foster rule, revise public pages, or add donor campaigns later.
Can we take adoption fees and donations online?
Yes. Adoption fees and donations can run at checkout on the rescue’s own Stripe account. Donations can be one-time or monthly.
What does Kliv take from each donation?
Kliv does not price by donors or donation volume. Card processing is between you and Stripe.
Do adopters or donors need Stripe accounts?
No. They just pay by card. Payments run through your Stripe account.
Will fosters actually use it?
They can get one simple page: their animals, feeding notes, next vet date, and a way to ask for help. Reminder emails can carry the important dates.
Can we prove county numbers?
Yes. Every intake and outcome is a dated row, so the monthly report is reproducible instead of reconstructed from memory.
Can fosters see each other’s addresses?
No, unless you explicitly allow it. Foster records can be scoped so each foster sees only their own animals and logistics.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The rescue site and portals can run on your own domain and go live as soon as you build them.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
Do I need a separate donor or adoption admin?
No. Intake, fosters, applications, donor records, public pages, and reports can live in the same app.
