Build a fleet management app
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your fleet management app — vehicles, service intervals, walkaround reports, expiring paperwork, photos, and dashboards — and it builds it on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t fleet software priced around a fixed feature list — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, the forms, reminders, and dashboards. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a generic fleet template.
On this page, that app is a fleet management system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this page focuses on vehicle records, maintenance, walkarounds, paperwork, costs, and driver workflows.
Why build your own fleet system?
Many small and midsize fleets need practical records more than enterprise fleet software: which van is due for service, which driver flagged a defect this morning, which registration expires next month, and what each vehicle costs to keep on the road.
Kliv builds the system around your yard. Vehicles, drivers, service intervals, walkaround forms, photos, reminders, imports, and reports can live in one app.
What the yard knows
Five records carry the fleet’s daily work.
Vehicle files
VIN, plate, assigned driver, odometer, work orders, defects, documents, and history stay on the vehicle record.
Service intervals and work orders
Oil at 7,500 miles, quarterly tire inspections, recalls, and other intervals can open work orders based on logged odometer readings.
Walkaround reports
Drivers complete a phone-sized form for lights, tires, leaks, and defects. A failed item becomes a defect row with a timestamp, driver, and photo.
Expiry reminders
Registrations, insurance certificates, inspections, and driver medical cards can trigger reminders at 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry.
Fuel and cost per mile
Fuel fills and repair costs accumulate on the vehicle, so cost per mile can be computed from records instead of estimated.
The week, running itself
A fleet is a set of repeated checks. The app closes the loops.
Monday digest
A scheduled email can show services due, documents expiring, and open defects that still need attention.
Slack where the shop already works
A failed walkaround can post to a fleet channel with the photo attached, and closing the work order can post the resolution.
An assistant that reads your manuals
Upload service manuals and warranty terms, then ask questions answered from your own documents.
Photos attached to vehicles
Damage and defect photos stay dated, attributed, and private to the company on the vehicle file.
Numbers by vehicle
Downtime days, repair spend, and cost per mile can be computed from the fleet records and shown in dashboards.
An example: Ronny’s HVAC fleet
Here’s how one operations yard might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own vehicles, checks, intervals, documents, and reports.
Drivers start with the assigned vehicle
Ronny’s drivers sign in on their phones and see the van assigned to them that morning.
A failed walkaround opens a defect
A driver flags a brake pull and uploads a photo. The failed check becomes an open defect row on the vehicle file.
Mileage opens service work
A van passes the 7,500-mile oil interval. The app opens a work order instead of waiting for someone to notice the odometer.
Expiring paperwork is visible early
A registration due in August appears in the 60-day, 30-day, and 7-day reminder cycle before it becomes a road problem.
Replacement decisions use real numbers
Ronny reviews downtime, repair spend, and cost per mile by vehicle before deciding whether to replace van 14.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include vehicle counts, intervals, forms, reminders, imports, and reports. Here are three to build on:
Service van fleet
Intervals, walkarounds, defects, and paperwork.
“Build a fleet app for our 23 service vans and 4 pickups. Track VIN, plate, assigned driver, odometer, mileage-based service intervals, morning walkaround checks with photos, open defect tickets, and alerts before registrations, inspections, insurance certificates, and driver medical cards expire.”
Last-mile depot
Daily assignments and roadworthy status.
“Build a delivery fleet app where dispatch assigns drivers to vans each morning, failed walkaround items open defect tickets with photos, the depot board shows which vehicles are roadworthy right now, and closing a repair posts the resolution to our fleet Slack channel.”
Landscaping crews
Trucks, trailers, and seasonal equipment.
“Build a fleet and equipment app for our landscaping company. Track trucks, trailers, and mowers; use mileage-based intervals for trucks; use hour-based intervals for mowers and generators; and show repair spend and downtime by asset.”
How it comes together
The database can grow with the fleet. If the company adds refrigerated trailers or mowers, you can describe the new asset type and fields.
Fuel-card imports can be parsed. A server-side function can read the monthly fuel-card export and turn each line into a fill on the right vehicle.
Tests can protect the rules. Kliv can write tests for interval math, expiry reminders, and driver visibility, and publishing can wait for those tests to pass.
Fleet management is a common internal tool. The broader case for building tools around your operations is on internal tools on Kliv.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For fleet management, it can build vehicle records, forms, reminders, imports, dashboards, and role-based access.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your vehicle fields, service rules, walkaround form, document reminders, and reports are built around your fleet.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add asset types, fields, service intervals, reminders, imports, or dashboards later.
How do drivers actually use it?
From their phones. A driver signs in, sees the assigned vehicle, completes the walkaround, and uploads photos for defects.
Will it catch expiring paperwork?
Yes. Each document can carry an expiry date, and scheduled reminders can fire at the thresholds you set.
Does it cost more as the fleet grows?
Kliv does not price by your vehicles, drivers, or users. A new van is a new row in the app.
Can we track equipment that isn’t a vehicle?
Yes. You can describe generators, trailers, mowers, or other equipment, with hour-based or mileage-based intervals as needed.
Can drivers see the whole fleet?
Only if you give them that role. Drivers can be limited to their assigned vehicle and reports while office roles see the yard.
Can it integrate with Slack?
Yes. You can connect Slack so failed checks or resolved work orders post to the channel your shop uses.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The app can run on your own domain.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. The app is its own admin for vehicles, documents, forms, dashboards, and page text.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
