What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a quiz app or course template — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the drill logic, records, dashboards, parent views, enrollment, payments, and schedules. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and keep changing it later by asking for changes. It isn’t a generic practice app with your content pasted in.
On this page, that app is an educational tool for a teaching studio. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one for turning a precise teaching method into software.
Why build your own educational tools?
A teaching studio’s method is often more specific than a generic quiz app. A soroban academy may need drills by kyu grade, timed mental-arithmetic sprints, error patterns, grading-day registration, and parent views that show one child.
Kliv builds the tool around the method. The grades, drill generator, attempts, errors, enrollments, and family views all live in one app.
Beads, grades, and the drill bank
The studio’s method becomes tables and functions the app can run.
The student record
Each student can have a name, kyu grade, start date, and grading history. The grade is what the drill generator reads before creating work.
The drill generator
A typed server-side function can create problem sets at the edge of the student’s level: three digits before four, division only after 6th kyu.
The sprint clock
Timed anzan runs can happen in the app. Numbers flash, answers land, and every attempt is stored with speed and score.
The error log
Wrong answers can be kept, not only counted. The log can show carrying errors or other patterns, and the next set can focus on them.
The grading day
Registration can use a real seat count, results can be entered once, and a pass can update the student’s grade immediately.
The family window
A parent can sign in to see one child’s sprints, grade history, and next grading date. Other students are outside that session’s view.
An example: Kiyomi’s soroban academy
Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own teaching method, levels, practice records, family view, and enrollment terms.
A student enrolls for the term
Tomo’s family pays $96 for the spring term through the studio’s Stripe account, and his student record opens at 10th kyu.
The drill matches his current grade
On Tuesday, the generator creates two-digit addition problems at his grade’s pace. The sprint clock records each attempt before the beads stop moving.
The error log finds a pattern
By week seven, Tomo has repeated the same carrying mistake across four sessions. Kiyomi sees it early, and the next set focuses on that pattern.
A grading day updates the drill level
Tomo registers for one of 20 seats at the March grading. When he passes to 9th kyu, his next drill set uses the new grade.
The parent view accumulates itself
By June, his family sees 41 sprints, one plateau, and one certificate. No one assembles the report by hand.
Describe the educational tool you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include levels, practice rules, attempts, parent views, enrollment, and payments if you charge.
Soroban academy
Level-tuned drills, sprint attempts, gradings, and family views.
“Build a soroban practice platform. Generate drill sets by kyu grade, run timed anzan sprints, record speed, score, and wrong answers, show parents only their own child’s progress, manage grading-day registration with 20 seats, and sell spring term enrollment for $96 through Stripe.”
Spelling bee trainer
Word lists by round level and coach review.
“Build a spelling trainer for my coaching studio. Match word lists to each student’s round level, record every practice attempt and misspelling, show coaches patterns by student, and send parents a weekly progress note.”
Sight-reading gym
Music-reading reps and paid recital sign-ups.
“Build a sight-reading practice tool for my piano students. Assign daily exercises by level, keep a practice log parents can see, track accuracy and tempo, and run recital sign-ups with a $25 fee paid online.”
The studio’s second shift
The method can run after class. Drill generation can be code the studio owns: deterministic, level-locked, and adjusted as the teacher refines the method. A nightly job can write tomorrow’s sets.
Enrollment can open the gate. A family that takes summer off can return in autumn with history intact. Terms, grading fees, and re-enrollment can run through one checkout the studio controls.
A family view can stay one student deep. Parents see their own child; the teacher sees the room; class standings can show bands rather than named rankings. Those boundaries are row rules.
Swap soroban for spelling lists or scales and the structure still works. When practice grows into curriculum, cohorts, and certificates, courses on Kliv covers that broader case.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the educational tool you need, it builds the app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the drill logic, records, dashboards, parent views, enrollment, payments, and schedules around your teaching method.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change drill rules, add levels, add reports, change parent views, or add new programs later.
Can parents see other students’ results?
No. A family login can be served only that child’s rows. Rankings can be shown as grade bands instead of named lists.
Does the app teach soroban?
No. The teacher does. The app runs the drills, clock, records, enrollments, and parent views around the teacher’s method.
What happens when a term ends?
The term can close access on schedule and reopen when the next term is paid, with every sprint and certificate still on the record.
Can grading days run through the same system?
Yes. Registration can sell seats with a real count, fees can run through checkout, and a recorded pass can update the student’s grade.
Can the tool send family notes?
Yes. A scheduled job can turn practice attempts into weekly family notes in the studio’s voice.
Do parents need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Parents pay by card. Payments run through your Stripe account.
Does Kliv take a cut?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Kliv does not take a percentage of tuition or grading fees.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
