Build a course creation and management platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your school’s rules — cohorts, capacity, modules, quizzes, checkoffs, certificates, payments, and reminders — and it builds the platform.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a course marketplace or lesson template — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, checkout, learning flow, admin screens, and rules. What you get is a real web app that’s yours. You can run payments on your own Stripe account, use your own domain, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a course platform for a school with cohorts, gates, checkoffs, certificates, and reminders. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own certification school?
A blended first-aid school may teach online modules through winter, then run a field weekend where students practice skills in person. The important rules are not just “lessons” and “completed”: cohorts have capacity, quizzes gate the field day, skills are checked off, and certificates expire after three years.
Kliv turns those rules into records. Enrollment opens modules, the quiz opens the field weekend, checkoffs attach to the student record, and recertification reminders schedule themselves when certificates are issued.
What the system knows
A course platform should hold the shape of the teaching.
Courses and cohorts
The course is the curriculum. A cohort has dates, location, roster, and capacity. The tenth seat in a nine-seat cohort is refused at purchase.
Modules and lessons
Lesson videos live in the file store behind the enrollment gate. Paid students can stream them; everyone else cannot fetch them.
Quizzes and field checkoffs
The scenario quiz gates the field weekend. On the day, the instructor checks off each skill on a phone, straight onto the student’s record.
Certificates and the three-year clock
Each certificate has issue and expiry dates. At 33 months, a recertification email can send with upcoming cohort dates.
The roster and the money
A $395 seat, a $345 early-bird price, and refund requests that wait for instructor approval can all run through the school’s own Stripe account.
An example: Maya’s wilderness first-aid school
Here’s how one school might use a course platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own courses, cohorts, gates, checkoffs, prices, and reminders.
A student books the early-bird seat
She books the March cohort in November for $345 because the early-bird window is still open. Her payment and module access are tied to the same enrollment record.
Modules show who is stuck
Lessons unlock as she completes them. The instructor can see that one student is stuck on module four and send a nudge before the field weekend.
The quiz opens the practical day
She passes the scenario quiz, and the field weekend opens on her dashboard. A classmate who has not passed sees the gate still closed.
Field skills attach to the record
During the March weekend, the instructor checks off splint, carry, and handover on a phone. By the drive home, the certificate exists with issue and expiry dates.
Recertification starts before expiry
At month 33, the reminder sends with upcoming cohort dates and an alumni discount code. The school does not keep a separate expiry spreadsheet.
Describe the course platform you need
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include cohort rules, prices, gates, certificates, refunds, and reminders. Here are three examples:
Blended certification course
Online modules gating a practical day.
“Build a course platform for my wilderness first-aid school. Charge $395 per student, offer a $345 early-bird price until 30 days before the cohort start, cap each cohort at 9 seats, require a passing scenario quiz before the field weekend, and issue certificates that expire after 3 years.”
Cohort-based workshop
Fixed starts, assignments, discussion, and alumni space.
“Build a cohort-based writing workshop site with fixed start dates, 20 seats per cohort, weekly assignments, a discussion space per cohort, live session links, and an alumni area that opens after completion.”
Self-paced course catalog
Multiple courses and completion certificates.
“Build a self-paced course catalog where students buy individual courses for $95 each, track progress per lesson, pass a final quiz with at least 80%, and download a completion certificate.”
How it comes together
The gate and payment are one system. Enrollment is an entitlement. Paying for the March cohort opens its modules, and a refunded seat closes them on the same logic.
Study help can use your materials. Upload the course manual and protocols into a knowledge base. Students can ask where hypothermia staging is covered or what the field day expects, with answers grounded in your material.
Refunds and transfers stay decisions. A cancellation two weeks before the field weekend can queue for instructor approval. Money moves only after the decision.
You can rehearse before selling seats. In the Sandbox, the school can run an enrollment cycle on simulated payments and a simulated calendar: early-bird closing, a cohort filling, and a refund.
A certification school is one shape of teaching business. The courses solutions page covers the wider ground, from drip curricula to communities that outlast the course.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For courses, it builds the catalog, checkout, modules, gates, cohorts, certificates, and reminders you describe.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. It is built around your teaching rules, cohort capacity, prices, quizzes, checkoffs, and certificate timing.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for a new cohort rule, certificate term, quiz gate, or pricing window, and Kliv updates the app.
Can a quiz really block access to part of the course?
Yes. The field weekend can be gated by a passing quiz result on the student’s record, checked on every request.
How do certificate expiries turn into bookings?
Each certificate has an expiry date. A scheduled job scans for approaching expiries and sends your reminder template with upcoming cohort dates.
Can I run early-bird pricing without policing it?
Yes. Price windows are part of the catalog. Checkout charges $345 during the early-bird window and $395 after it closes.
What about students who never finish?
Progress is recorded per lesson, so stalled students can receive an automatic or personal nudge.
Does Kliv take a cut of course payments?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do students need Stripe accounts?
No. Students pay by card. The Stripe account is yours.
Can I cap cohort capacity?
Yes. Capacity is checked at purchase, so the system can refuse the tenth seat in a nine-seat cohort.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The course platform can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your records and files are exportable.
