What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t admissions software with a fixed workflow — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the practice you need in your own words, and Kliv builds the real app: the database, the logic, the screens, the payment flow if you sell packages, and the access rules. You own it, run it on your own accounts, and change it later by asking. It is not a template.
On this page, that app is an admissions counseling platform with family rooms, school lists, essay reviews, deadlines, and weekly updates. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one.
Why build your own admissions platform?
An admissions counselor may work with thirty seniors at once, and each family expects full attention. What they should not need is the counselor’s memory. Deadlines, supplements, recommendations, essay drafts, and parent updates all move at the same time.
Spreadsheets and email threads do not know who should see what. Kliv builds one room per family, with database rules that keep families separate and a deadline board that does not have to be rebuilt from an inbox.
What each senior’s file holds
The platform keeps the records that make a season manageable.
Family room
The student, parents, and counselor sign into one private workspace. Each login sees that senior’s records and no other family’s.
School list
Each school has its own row with round, deadline, supplement count, and status, from researching to submitted to decision received.
Essay drafts
Drafts move through writing, with counselor, back with notes, and final. Old versions stay available, so good earlier lines are not lost.
Deadline board
Requirements roll up two ways: per family, so students see their week, and across the practice, so the counselor sees the crunch coming.
Document vault
Transcripts, score reports, and fee-waiver letters are scoped to the family that owns them and shared outward only on purpose.
Intake agent
The agent answers routine questions from the handbook and FAQ pages the counselor wrote, then routes strategy questions to the counselor.
An example: Amara’s admissions practice
Here’s how one admissions practice might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own packages, deadlines, review rules, and family visibility.
A family buys the senior package
A family buys Amara’s $1,900 senior package through checkout, and their private room opens. The purchase and access are one record.
The school list becomes structured
The student builds a list of twelve schools with reaches, matches, and two favorites. Each school carries its round, deadline, supplements, and status.
Essay drafts move through review
Draft three goes to Amara on Tuesday. Notes come back Thursday. The draft state shows whose turn it is without anyone searching an email thread.
Parents see progress, not every draft
Parents can see deadlines and essay states, but the draft mid-revision stays between student and counselor until it is released.
Weekly updates go out automatically
Every Sunday, each family gets an email listing what is due, what changed, and what is done. Amara does not compose thirty separate updates.
Decision day becomes the record
Statuses land one by one. The family keeps a complete record of what was asked, written, sent, and answered.
Describe the admissions platform you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include who signs in, what parents may see, how drafts move, which reminders go out, and how packages are sold.
Deadline command board
School lists, requirements, and practice-wide due dates.
“Build an admissions tracker for 30 seniors. Each student’s school list should include round, deadline, supplements, recommendation status, and decision status. I need a practice dashboard sorted by what is due soonest.”
Essay review room
Draft states and parent visibility rules.
“Build an essay workspace where drafts move through writing, with counselor, back with notes, and final. Keep old versions, let parents see progress and deadlines, but hide draft text until the student and counselor release it.”
Family progress portal
Private rooms and weekly digests.
“Build a family portal where each student and parents sign in to their own room, see school deadlines, upload transcripts, and receive a weekly Sunday email listing what is due, what changed, and what was completed.”
How the platform works
The important rules are social, and the platform holds them as data. A parent can see the deadline board and essay state; a draft mid-revision stays between student and counselor until it is released. Files behave the same way: a transcript is scoped to its family when it is uploaded.
The $1,900 package can run through checkout on Amara’s own Stripe account. The room it opens can stay readable after the season, so alumni families keep their own record. Export is a button, not a request.
If Amara turns a junior-year workshop into a self-serve course later, recorded sessions, worksheets, and a spring cohort can run on the same database. Courses on Kliv covers that part of the platform.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder that builds custom web apps from a description. For admissions counseling, it can build private family workspaces, deadlines, essays, documents, package checkout, and reminders.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the data, screens, and access rules for your practice. It is not a fixed admissions theme.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can ask for new fields, changed review states, different emails, or extra dashboards later.
Can parents read essay drafts?
Only if you allow it. A common setup lets parents see status and deadlines while draft text stays between student and counselor until release.
Does the agent give admissions advice?
No. It answers routine questions from pages you wrote, such as policy definitions and logistics. Strategy questions route to the counselor.
How do families stay separate?
Each family login can fetch only that senior’s records and files. The separation is enforced in the database on every query.
Can I sell packages up front?
Yes. A senior package can be sold through checkout on your own Stripe account, with access tied to the purchase.
What happens after decision day?
The family can keep read access to the record, and you can export it whenever needed. The next season starts with a clean process.
Can weekly reminders go out automatically?
Yes. A scheduled email can tell each family what is due, what changed, and what was completed.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The portal can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull.
