Inventory Management
Build a custom warehouse management system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your racks, receiving rules, pick waves, cycle counts, and roles, and it builds a WMS around your floor.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a WMS product you sign up for and configure. It’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, and the workflows. What you get is a real, working app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own domain. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a warehouse management system built around your floor. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one of them, and that’s what the rest of this page covers.
Why build your own WMS?
Many warehouse systems are built for parcel hubs, large conveyor operations, or generic pallets. Your floor may be different: vintage-specific stock, bonded goods, customer-specific storage, aisle rules, and pick waves that need to match how people actually walk the racks.
Kliv builds the WMS around the floor you describe. Bins, receiving, stock, pick waves, counts, discrepancies, roles, and exports all sit in one database you own.
What the warehouse remembers
These records keep receiving, picking, and counts tied to the same stock ledger.
Bins and zones
Every location is a row with aisle, level, contents, and rules about what may go there. Putaway suggestions can follow your map.
Cases and vintages
A 2019 and a 2021 Rioja are different stock with different counts. Producer, vintage, and format stay on the SKU.
Receiving against the PO
A delivery is checked against what was ordered. A shortfall becomes a discrepancy record, with a photo attached if needed.
Pick waves
Open order lines can collapse into pick lists sorted by aisle, so pickers move through the floor once and flag missing stock at the shelf.
Cycle counts
A few bins can be counted each day. If a count disagrees, the system opens a variance and keeps both numbers until someone resolves it.
An example: Sofia’s wine import warehouse
Here’s how one warehouse might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own bins, products, receiving rules, pick waves, count process, and roles.
Receiving records the shortfall
Forty-eight cases of Douro red arrive against a purchase order. Sofia’s receiver checks them in on a phone, records two cases short, and attaches a delivery photo.
Putaway follows stock rules
The system proposes bins by zone and velocity. Bonded cases route to the cage and stay unsellable until duty status changes.
Thursday’s pick wave follows the aisles
Three hundred restaurant order lines become pick lists sorted by aisle. The allocation logic is code in the app and can be covered by tests.
A missing case opens a variance path
A picker finds five cases where the system says six. One tap flags the bin, substitutes from another location, and adds the bin to tomorrow’s count.
Discrepancies post where buyers work
The morning discrepancy summary posts to the buying Slack channel through a connection Sofia authorized.
Quarter-end uses the records already made
Rolling counts and variance logs mean the auditor reads a report instead of closing the warehouse. Adjustments show who made them, when, and why.
Describe the WMS you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include your bins, stock identifiers, receiving process, pick flow, count policy, and roles. Here are three to build on:
Wine import warehouse
Vintages, bonded stock, receiving, and aisle-sorted waves.
“Build a WMS for a wine importer with 900 bin locations, producer-vintage-format SKUs, bonded and cleared stock states, receiving against purchase orders with discrepancy photos, and Thursday pick waves sorted by aisle.”
Spare-parts depot
Serialized parts, reorder flags, and service-job picking.
“Build a warehouse system for our machinery spare-parts depot. Track serialized parts by bin, flag minimum stock for reorder, and create a picking queue for service jobs with substitutions when a bin is short.”
Third-party storage floor
Per-client stock walls and monthly statements.
“Build a warehouse app for a third-party storage business. Each client should sign in to see only its own pallets, request outbound shipments, and receive a monthly storage statement.”
How the floor stays honest
Roles can match the floor. A receiver, picker, buyer, and third-party client can use the same database with different reach. One client’s pallets do not exist for another client’s login.
Scheduled jobs can build tomorrow’s count list, send open-discrepancy summaries, watch minimum stock, and draft reorder sheets. These are functions in your app, not a separate plugin subscription.
You can upload SOPs, such as receiving rules and bonded-goods procedures, so the app’s agent can answer from your documents and the rows that signed-in person is allowed to see. The wider story of operations software you own continues at the internal-tools solutions page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. You tell it what you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For this page, that means a WMS with bin locations, stock records, PO receiving, pick waves, cycle counts, variances, and warehouse roles.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database, the logic, and the screens for your specific case. It is not a pre-made theme you fill in.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You ask for changes in plain words and Kliv updates the app, without starting over.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The app can run on your own domain and go live as soon as you build it.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
Can pickers use phones they already carry?
Yes. It is a web app, so pick lists, receiving, bin flags, and counts can run in the phone browser under each person’s sign-in.
What happens when a count disagrees?
The count does not overwrite stock by itself. It opens a variance with both numbers, then someone with the right role resolves it.
Can it keep two vintages of the same wine apart?
Yes. The SKU can include producer, vintage, and format, so receiving, counts, and picks treat them as separate stock.
Can bonded stock stay unsellable?
Yes. Bonded status can be a stock state, and selling or picking can depend on that state.
Can pick waves be sorted by aisle?
Yes. You describe the walking order and allocation rules, and Kliv builds the wave logic into the app.
Can third-party clients see only their own stock?
Yes. Client access can be enforced on the rows, so each client sees only its own pallets and outbound requests.
Can we import existing spreadsheets?
Yes. You describe the columns, and the data becomes bins, stock, counts, or other records in your database.
