Inventory Management
Build an asset and inventory management system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the asset and inventory management system you need — serials, counts, job checkouts, maintenance, trucks, scans, and reorder rules — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t an inventory package with fixed item types — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, logic, screens, reports, scanning pages, and access rules. You own the result and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a generic stock template.
On this page, that app is an asset and inventory management system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one tracks serial numbers, consumable counts, job checkouts, maintenance, trucks, and reorders.
Why build your own inventory system?
A shop may track two different kinds of things: serialized gear with history and consumables with counts. Many generic tools flatten that difference. A spreadsheet can hold it for a while, until gear leaves on trucks, comes back damaged, or goes missing.
Kliv builds the system around how your shop works: what has a serial, what has a count, what a checkout means, and when low stock should trigger a purchase.
What the warehouse knows
These records keep gear, stock, and jobs connected.
Serialized assets
Each fixture, console, and rack has serial, purchase date, condition, and current custody: shelf, truck, or job.
Consumable stock
Tape, lamps, tie line, and other consumables are counted by location with reorder points.
Jobs and checkouts
A pull sheet belongs to a job number. Scanning gear out flips custody to the job and blocks double-booking.
Maintenance log
Repairs are logged against the serial. Gear with an open fault can be blocked from the next pull.
Locations and trucks
Warehouse zones, shelves, trucks, and sub-rented gear are separate locations or custody states.
An example: Dana’s event production shop
Here’s how one shop might use an inventory app built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own asset types, job flow, locations, scanning, and reorder rules.
The pull sheet checks availability
Dana’s project lead builds job 4417 with twelve movers, two consoles, and 400 feet of socapex. The app shows what is available that weekend and what is already promised.
A shortfall becomes a sub-rental
Two consoles are out on another show, so the gap becomes a sub-rental line with the partner shop and return date.
Load-out changes custody
Gear scans onto truck 2 item by item. Custody changes from shelf to job, and the prep sheet becomes a record of what actually loaded.
Return scanning finds the missing cable
On Monday, everything scans back except one 25-foot socapex. The discrepancy report names the missing item and job.
A damaged fixture leaves the pool
A mover comes back with a cracked yoke. The fault is logged against its serial and the fixture is blocked from pulls until repaired.
Describe the inventory system you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include serialized assets, consumables, locations, job checkouts, sub-rentals, maintenance, scanning, and reports. The more detail you give, the closer the first version.
AV rental warehouse
Serialized gear, job checkouts, and sub-rentals.
“Build an inventory system for our AV rental company. Track serialized fixtures, consoles, and racks; check gear out against job numbers; track sub-rentals with owner and return date; block faulty gear from pulls; and create a discrepancy report after every return scan.”
Contractor tool crib
Tools signed out to crews and vans.
“Build a tool crib tracker where every tool has a serial number and home shelf, crews sign tools out to a van or job site, anything not returned in 14 days appears on the foreman’s report, and damaged tools require a maintenance ticket.”
Lab equipment registry
Instruments with calibration due dates.
“Build an equipment registry for our lab. Track each instrument’s serial number, calibration due date, service history, booking calendar, and block instruments past due for calibration from being booked.”
How it comes together
The reorder digest reads live counts. A scheduled job can email every consumable below its reorder point, grouped by supplier.
An agent can answer warehouse questions. Ask where all 26-degree profiles are, and it can answer from the inventory rows the signed-in user may read.
Labels and scanning are app features. QR labels, shelf labels, and phone-friendly check-in pages are pages and records in the same app.
Utilization becomes visible. Checkout history can show which fixtures earn their shelf space and which have not left the building in months.
Crew scheduling and job costing often follow from the same operations data. More examples are collected at internal tools.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe your inventory process, and it builds a real app for assets, stock, checkouts, locations, maintenance, scans, and reports.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your asset types, custody rules, locations, reorder points, and reports are built around your shop.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add asset types, fields, scans, locations, reports, or rules by asking.
Can we scan barcodes or QR codes?
Yes. The app can generate printable QR labels and use a phone-friendly check-in page to read them.
Does it handle more than one warehouse?
Yes. Locations are records you define: buildings, zones, shelves, trucks, and partner shops.
What about gear rented from other shops?
Sub-rented gear can enter a job as borrowed, with owner and return date, and it cannot be shelved as yours.
Can we get data out for accounting?
Yes. Assets, checkouts, counts, and exports are rows in your database.
Can faulty gear be blocked from jobs?
Yes. An open maintenance ticket can remove an asset from availability.
Can the app create reorder lists?
Yes. Reorder points can trigger scheduled digests or purchase lists.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The system can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
