Build print shop management software
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the print shop management software you need — quotes, artwork, proofs, press queues, paper stock, payments, and pickup shelf — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a print MIS you configure around trade-printer assumptions — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the job records, proof workflow, stock tables, queues, customer uploads, payments, and website pages. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can change it later by asking for changes and run payment checkout on your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is print shop management software. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one is for a shop that needs public quote requests and back-office job tracking to read the same records.
Why build your own print shop system?
A local print shop needs answers fast: which proof was approved, what stock is on hand, what was charged last spring, and what is waiting on the pickup shelf. Paper tickets and whiteboards can move work, but they cannot answer those questions reliably.
Kliv builds those answers into the shop. Every job is a record, every approval has a timestamp, every reprint starts from history, and payment can live on the same job the press queue reads.
Everything the counter promises
Six records replace the whiteboard.
Jobs and stages
Quoted, artwork in, proof out, approved, on press, bindery, shelf. A job is always in one stage, and the counter screen shows the queue.
Artwork and proofs
Customers upload files into the shop’s file store. The proof and the approval stay attached to the job.
Paper stocks and machines
Each stock stores weight, finish, size, and amount on hand; each machine has its queue. A quote that needs out-of-stock paper says so early.
The price book
Quantity breaks, stock upcharges, and rush multipliers live as rows the quote screen applies consistently.
Customers and history
The diner’s past orders, the realtor’s sign spec, and the file that ran last time are all available when someone says “run it again.”
The pickup shelf
When a job reaches the shelf, the customer gets an email on your template with the balance shown, and the shelf list shows what has waited longest.
An example: Wendel’s print shop
Here’s how one shop might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own job stages, pricing, proof rules, stocks, and pickup process.
A quote becomes a job
The diner needs 500 menus. Wendel enters quantity, stock, and folding; the price book returns $214, emails the quote, and the diner accepts from a phone.
Artwork arrives in the right place
The customer uploads the new artwork through their page. The file lands in the shop’s file store and attaches to the job.
Approval is recorded clearly
The shop posts a proof. The owner approves at 9 p.m., and the job records the file, person, and time before moving to press.
The queue knows the stock
The digital queue shows the menus behind the realtor’s rush signs. The gloss text was reserved when the quote was accepted.
Pickup closes the loop
The job is trimmed, boxed, and shelved. The pickup email goes out, payment was settled at order, and the files and price are ready for the next reprint.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so include job stages, pricing rules, proof approvals, uploads, stock, payment timing, and pickup notifications. Here are three examples:
Screen printing shop
Garments, colors, approvals, and press calendar.
“Build a screen printing manager that tracks orders by garment, size, color count, and screen setup, lets customers approve art proofs online, schedules production per press, and shows payment status on each job.”
Sign and banner shop
Site notes, proofs, materials, and installation.
“Build a sign shop system with site-measure notes, design proofs, material tracking for substrates and vinyl, installation scheduling, and completion photos attached to the job.”
Copy center counter
Walk-ins and uploads in one queue.
“Build a copy center tool where walk-in jobs get a ticket with due time and binding options, self-serve customers upload files ahead, payment links go to the customer’s phone, and the counter sees one queue.”
The machinery behind the counter
The proof workflow uses the file store. Uploaded artwork is private to its customer; the proof and approval live on the job, so a version dispute ends with a record.
Payment can be checkout on your own Stripe account, taken when the order is placed. One-time purchases fit print work, and the payment lands on the same job record the press queue reads.
The public side can be part of the same build: a website on the shop’s own domain, service pages, a quote-request form that opens a job, and hours that stay current.
Half the town has walked past your window, and the whole market lives within a twenty-minute drive. Where local shops start is written for that kind of business.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a print shop, it builds job boards, customer uploads, proof approvals, stock tracking, payments, and public quote forms around your workflow.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your jobs, files, approvals, stocks, price rules, and customers live in a database built for your shop.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change stages, quote rules, stock fields, proof wording, pickup emails, or public pages by asking for changes.
How do proof approvals work?
The customer opens the proof and approves or requests changes. The job records which file, which person, and what time.
Most of our trade is walk-in. Does this still fit?
Yes. The counter creates tickets in the same system online orders use. Payment links can go to a phone, while cash can stay with your till.
Can it remember repeat jobs?
Yes. Closed jobs keep files, stock, finished size, and price, so a repeat starts from the last record.
Is this also our website?
It can be. Public pages and quote forms can run on your own domain, while job boards and queues sit behind sign-in.
Can customers only see their own files?
Yes. Customer uploads can be scoped to that customer, so one customer cannot browse another customer’s artwork.
Does Kliv take a cut of orders?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Card fees are between you and Stripe.
Do customers need Stripe accounts?
No. Customers just pay by card.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your job records are yours.
