Why build your own partner platform?
Priya sells scheduling software to barbershops, and her partner program started with supply reps and consultants sending referrals. A spreadsheet could not explain one disputed commission three months later.
Kliv builds the program inside your own product. The referral, conversion, commission, partner rate, and statement are rows in your database. Each partner signs in and sees their own numbers, and the month-end statement is generated from the same ledger you would use to settle a dispute.
What the program knows
Five records connect a shared link to a settled commission.
Partners and tiers
Each partner has a rate, such as 15% for silver or 20% for gold. Tier changes are dated, so older commissions keep the rate that was active when they were earned.
Links and codes
Each partner can have a referral link and promotion code. Clicks, signups, and conversions arrive as attributed events within the window you define.
Commission ledger
Every conversion writes a row with partner, customer plan, amount, rate applied, and month earned. Disputes are easier when both sides can read the same row.
Statements
Month-end statements are assembled from the ledger, itemized by row, and emailed on your template. Paid and owed stay visibly separate.
Partner resources
Co-branded decks, logos, and email copy live in the portal, so partners pull the current version instead of forwarding old PDFs.

Here’s how one SaaS business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own rates, attribution window, statements, and payout process.
A referral link records the click
A supply rep shares her link with a barbershop owner. The click lands as an event with her attribution and a timestamp inside Priya’s chosen window.
The trial inherits the attribution
The shop starts a trial three days later. The pending referral appears on the rep’s dashboard, visible to her and not to other partners.
The conversion writes the commission
The shop subscribes at $79 per month. The ledger writes the partner, plan, 20% gold rate, and $15.80 earned for that month.
The statement is generated from the ledger
At month-end, a scheduled job totals the partner’s rows and emails an itemized statement. The partner can compare it with the same dashboard numbers.
The payout is recorded separately
Priya pays from her bank and marks the statement settled. The ledger shows earned, invoiced, and paid without mixing those states.
A tier change affects future rows
Ten conversions move the rep to gold. The change is dated, future rows earn 20%, and history keeps the old rates.

How it comes together
Each partner sees exactly their own numbers. Ledger rows, referrals, and statements are scoped to the signed-in partner by data rules, so transparency for one partner does not expose another partner’s program.
Attribution is events you define. Clicks, trials, and conversions are attributed by link or code within the window your terms specify. If the program changes rules, the new rule applies from the date you set.
Statements are generated, payouts are deliberate. The app can total each partner’s rows and email statements. You still pay from your own bank or payment rail and record the settlement.
Rates live next to revenue. Because the program runs near your product’s own records, commissions can be computed from the subscription or sale that caused them.
