Nonprofit & NGO Management
Build a nonprofit donation website
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe a nonprofit donation website with one-time gifts, monthly sponsorships, campaign goals, tribute gifts, and receipts, and it builds it on your own Stripe account.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a rented donation form you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, and the workflows. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account, and change it later by asking for changes. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a nonprofit donation website. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own donation site?
A donation page should do more than take a card. A small nonprofit may need one-time gifts, monthly sponsorships, campaign goals, tribute gifts, receipts, donor history, and year-end summaries. Donation platforms often put that inside their template and their donor database.
Kliv builds the giving site as your own app. Donors, gifts, campaigns, sponsorships, and receipts live in your records, while payments run through your own Stripe account.
What the giving site keeps
A real donation site needs records behind the donate button.
Donors and history
Every donor can have a record of gifts, sponsorships, tributes, receipts, and emails they have received.
Monthly sponsorships
Sponsor-a-resident giving can run as a subscription. Failed cards can retry, and recovery emails can send a link to fix the payment.
Campaign goals
A campaign can have a goal, deadline, and progress bar based on settled payments, not a number someone updates by hand.
Tribute and memorial gifts
A tribute gift can carry a dedication and send a notification email to the family or person you name.
Receipts and annual letters
Each gift can email a receipt on your letterhead, and a year-end summary can assemble from the same donor records.
An example: Talia’s wildlife rescue
Here’s how one nonprofit might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own cause, campaigns, sponsorships, and receipt rules.
A campaign launches with a real goal
Talia publishes a flight-aviary campaign with a $40,000 goal, story, and bird photos from the file store.
Gifts move the progress bar
One-time and monthly gifts arrive. The campaign bar moves when payments settle, so the public number matches the records.
A supporter updates her sponsorship
A longtime donor upgrades her monthly owl sponsorship from her own billing page without emailing the office.
Matching week follows set dates
A local firm matches gifts for one week. The campaign shows doubled progress during the window and stops when the dates end.
A failed card is handled quietly
A sponsor’s card declines mid-campaign. Retries and a recovery email help fix it before the sponsorship lapses.
Receipts and thank-yous are already recorded
When the campaign funds, thank-yous go out on the rescue’s template, receipts are in donor inboxes, and the final report is a query.
Describe the donation site you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include gift types, amounts, campaigns, receipts, donor actions, and payment rules. Here are three examples:
Sponsor-an-owl program
Monthly sponsorships tied to resident animals.
“Build a donation website for a raptor rescue with one-time gifts and monthly sponsor-a-resident subscriptions at $15, $35, and $75. Add profile pages for each bird, let donors update cards or change levels, and email receipts on our letterhead.”
Aviary capital campaign
A goal bar based on settled payments.
“Build a flight-aviary campaign page with a $40,000 goal, a December 31 deadline, progress computed from settled payments, one-time and monthly giving, tribute gifts, and a matching week from October 7 to October 14.”
Tribute giving page
Dedications and family notifications.
“Build a memorial giving page where donors dedicate gifts in someone’s name, choose whether the dedication is public, send a notification email to the family, and publish approved dedications on a remembrance wall.”
How it comes together
Recurring giving uses subscription handling. Monthly sponsorships can support level changes, pauses, and failed-card recovery.
Free and paid support can live together. A $0 member signup and a $25 gift can flow through the same supporter records, so you do not maintain two lists.
You can rehearse before real money moves. The giving year can run on test payments first: appeal, matching week, failed card, receipts, and refund handling.
Public dedications can be moderated. A remembrance wall can hold dedications for human approval before they appear.
Donations are one part of nonprofit work. Volunteers, programs, members, and operations are covered on the nonprofits page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe your donation website, and it builds a real app for gifts, donors, campaigns, receipts, and payments.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Donors, gifts, sponsorships, campaigns, tributes, receipts, and progress goals are records in your system.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can ask for a new campaign, sponsorship level, receipt wording, donor field, or approval step later.
Do we need a developer to change a campaign?
No. You can describe the campaign change, and the app updates. Small text edits can be changed directly and published when ready.
What happens when a sponsor’s card fails?
The payment can retry on a schedule, and recovery emails can send a link to update the card before the sponsorship lapses.
Where does the money go?
Payments run through your own Stripe account. The donations, payouts, and donor records are yours.
Does Kliv take a cut of donations?
No. Kliv does not take a per-donation cut. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do donors need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Donors just pay by card. Stripe is the payment processor for your account.
Can donors manage their own sponsorship?
Yes. They can update cards, change levels, or pause if you allow those actions.
Can tribute gifts be reviewed before posting?
Yes. Public dedications can go through a moderation queue before they appear.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The donation website can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
