Build a laundry and dry cleaning management system

What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a point product with fixed screens — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the workflow, the screens, the notifications, and the payment flow when you need one. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.

On this page, that app is a laundry and dry cleaning management system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one tracks garments, routes, racks, customers, notices, and billing.

Why the counter needs a real answer

A cleaner gets asked the same question all day: where is it? A blazer may be at the counter, on the van, at the plant, on the press, or on the rack. A paper ticket may know the price but not the current state.

Kliv builds a system where every garment is a record with status, care notes, photos, route scans, rack position, and customer history. The counter, plant, and van write to one database.

Tags, racks, and routes

A cleaner handles thousands of small handoffs. These records keep them straight.

The garment

Tag number, fabric, care note, and intake photo stay on the garment. Pearl buttons and no-steam pleats stop depending on memory.

The order

Pieces, promised date, price, and status per piece stay together. Four of five ready becomes a clear answer.

The rack

Ready garments carry a slot number. The rack can show what has waited 30 days and what needs your overstay policy.

The route

The van manifest records pieces scanned on and scanned off between storefronts and plant.

The customer

Preferences, plans, past orders, starch level, hanger choices, and wash-and-fold details live on the customer record.

An example: Vartan’s dry cleaner

Here’s how one cleaner might use a laundry and dry cleaning system built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own storefronts, plant, tags, routes, rates, and customer policies.

01

A blazer is tagged at intake

The north counter tags the blazer, photographs worn lining, records the promised Friday date, and sends the customer away with a link instead of only a paper stub.

02

The van scan shows the handoff

The blazer is scanned onto the 2 p.m. run and scanned off at the plant. If a scan is missing, the manifest shows it early.

03

Care notes reach the press station

The pearl-button note appears where the work happens: hand-finish, no steam. The note lives on the garment record.

04

Ready notices send automatically

The blazer returns north and lands on rack 12. The ready notice sends when the state changes, without someone composing it.

05

Overstays get reminders

After a month, the rack sends a nudge. The reminder goes out before the blazer becomes a forgotten donation problem.

Describe the cleaner you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Say how pieces move, what gets tagged, how routes work, what notices send, and how billing is calculated. Here are three to build on:

kliv.dev

Two-store cleaner

Shared plant, routes, garment tracking, and ready notices.

“Build a dry cleaning system for two storefronts and one plant. Track every garment by tag with per-piece status, care notes, intake photos, van manifests with scan on and scan off, rack slots, automatic ready notices, and customer preferences.”

kliv.dev

Wash-and-fold plans

By the pound, billed from the scale.

“Build a wash-and-fold service where drop-offs are weighed once, customers are billed $2.25 per pound at month end, a $74 family plan covers weekly pickup, and vacation holds pause billing and pickups for the same weeks.”

kliv.dev

Alterations counter

Fittings, measurements, photos, and promised dates.

“Build an alterations tracker where each job holds measurements, pinned photos, fitting notes, promised date, and customer notices when the fitting or final pickup is ready.”

Pressed into the system

The scale is the ledger. Wash-and-fold drop-offs are weighed once. Month-end billing is those weights added at $2.25 per pound. The $74 family plan can run as a subscription on Vartan’s own Stripe account, with vacation holds pausing billing and pickups together.

Intake photos reduce disputes. Every flaw photographed at the counter lands on the garment record, visible to the customer from the start.

The night pass can be automatic. A scheduled job can sweep racks after closing, resend unanswered ready notices, flag overstays, and draft tomorrow’s van manifests from what the plant finished.

A cleaner earns its corner over years. Kliv for neighborhood businesses is written for local shops that need to stay findable, bookable, and answerable.

Common questions

What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a cleaner, it can build garment tracking, routes, racks, notices, customer records, plans, and billing.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the records and workflow around how garments move through your business.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can add a storefront, change rates, adjust route steps, add notices, or change customer policies later.

Can the counter answer where any piece is?

Yes. Every piece has a state, and every handoff writes one: counter, van, plant, press, rack, and pickup.

What happens when a customer claims damage?

You can open the intake photos. Damage noted at drop-off is on the garment record with a timestamp.

Does a subscription make sense for a cleaner?

For wash-and-fold, it can. A monthly plan can bill on schedule while per-pound work and vacation holds follow the same customer record.

Can two storefronts and one plant share it?

Yes. Each storefront can see its counters and racks, the plant sees its queue, and the owner view sees the whole operation.

Can ready notices send automatically?

Yes. Notices can send when garment status changes to ready or when rack overstays need a reminder.

Do customers need Stripe accounts?

No. Customers pay by card if you take online payments. Payments run through your own Stripe account.

Does Kliv take a cut of wash-and-fold payments?

No. Payments run through your Stripe account, and card fees are between you and Stripe.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The system can run on your own domain.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository.
