Electrical contractor operations management software
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the electrical contractor operations management software you need — job cards, permits, licenses, van stock, quotes, invoices, and portals — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a field-service suite with fixed screens — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: job cards, permits, license checks, van stock, quotes, invoices, payments, portals, dashboards, and access rules. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and keep changing it later by asking for changes. It isn’t a generic contractor template.
On this page, that app is electrical contractor operations management software. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one for crews, permits, parts, and billing.
Why build your own contractor operations system?
A small electrical shop can run on a whiteboard for a while. As the crew grows, small misses become expensive: an inspection not written down, a license renewal found too late, a van missing a needed panel, or a quote disputed because the paperwork is elsewhere.
Kliv builds the operation as records that reference each other. Jobs, permits, crew licenses, vans, parts, quotes, approvals, and invoices can all share one system.
The office in five tables
These are the records an electrical contractor’s system needs to hold.
Jobs and job cards
Each job can have address, scope, photos, hours, materials, and notes. The invoice can be read from the job card instead of rebuilt from memory.
Permits and inspections
A permit can carry number, scope, and inspection date. A failed inspection can create a re-inspection task instead of a sticky note.
Crew and licenses
Each electrician can carry classifications and expiry dates. Scheduling can check licenses before permit work is assigned, and renewals can trigger reminders 60 days out.
Van stock
Each van can have its own stock counts. A panel job can reserve the 200-amp panel to van 2 the day before the job.
Quotes to invoices
A quote can be line items with a status. Customer approval can be recorded from a phone, and completion can turn the quote into an invoice with actuals attached.
An example: Solveig’s electrical shop
Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own jobs, permits, crew rules, van stock, quotes, and payment flow.
A diagnostic booking creates the job
A homeowner books a $185 diagnostic visit online and pays through the company’s Stripe account. The job card exists before the van moves.
The field finding becomes evidence
The electrician photographs the scorched bus bar from the crawl space and drafts a panel replacement quote from the job card.
The quote is approved from a phone
The homeowner approves that night. The approval lands on the record with a timestamp, and the approved lines become the basis for the invoice.
Permit work checks the license table
The permit number and inspection window attach to the job. The schedule includes a master electrician because the license check happens before the crew assignment saves.
The finished job invoices from actuals
The green inspection sticker is photographed, the extra AFCI breaker is added as a line, and the invoice is paid by link before the van is unloaded.
Describe the operations app you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include job flow, license rules, permits, inventory, approvals, invoices, and payment terms.
Residential service shop
Bookings, job cards, phone approvals, and invoices.
“Build an operations app for my residential electrical contractor. Let homeowners book a $185 diagnostic visit online and pay at booking, create job cards with photos, hours, and materials, let customers approve quotes by phone, and generate invoices on completion from the job card lines.”
Panels and permits
Permit dates, inspections, and license enforcement.
“Build a job management system for an electrical contractor. Track permit numbers, inspection dates, failed inspections, and re-inspection tasks per job; block scheduling permit work unless a qualifying electrician is on the crew; and email the office 60 days before a license expires.”
Three-van stockroom
Per-van counts and supply-house lists.
“Build a van inventory app for an electrical company. Track stock counts separately for van 1, van 2, and van 3; let jobs reserve parts the day before; flag low-stock items; and generate a supply-house list every Friday.”
Paperwork at 600 volts
License checks can run every week. A scheduled job can walk the license table and email the office about anything expiring within 60 days.
The homeowner portal can be one address wide. A homeowner can see their own job photos, permit status, quote, and invoice. Other jobs and the pricing book stay behind office access rules.
The books can agree with the trucks. Payments can land with a job card as the source, and dashboards can show revenue by month, crew, and job type.
Electrical is one trade among many that run on quotes, crews, visits, and invoices. The services solutions page covers the broader service-business pattern.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the contractor operations app you need, it builds the app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the job cards, permits, license checks, van stock, quotes, invoices, portals, and reports around your operation.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add job types, license rules, reports, inventory fields, portals, or invoice logic later.
Can the app refuse an unlicensed assignment?
Yes. The schedule can check the license table when permit work is assigned. If the crew lacks a qualifying license, the assignment does not save unless you build a deliberate office override.
What do homeowners see?
Their own job: photos, schedule, permit status, quote, and invoice. Other jobs, pricing books, and crew schedules stay on the office side.
How do we switch from spreadsheets and a whiteboard?
Customers, parts, and open jobs can import from CSV. You can run the app and whiteboard side by side while the team proves the flow.
When do we get paid?
A diagnostic fee can be charged at booking. Project work can invoice on completion from job card lines, payable by card from the emailed link.
Does Kliv take a cut?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Kliv does not take a percentage of service revenue.
Do customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Customers just pay by card. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.
Can van stock stop second trips?
It can help. Jobs can reserve parts to a van ahead of time, and low-stock lists can show what needs restocking.
Can permit and license reminders run automatically?
Yes. Inspection dates, re-inspection tasks, and credential expiry reminders can run from scheduled jobs.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
