Build a digital assistance kiosk
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the digital assistance kiosk you need — documents, directions, queues, language support, session resets, and staff review — and it builds the web app.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t kiosk hardware or a fixed directory-board product — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the full-screen web app, document-grounded assistant, queue check-in, wayfinding, language options, staff logs, and admin screens. What you get is a real app that can run on your own domain. You can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a digital assistance kiosk. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why the lobby needs more than a directory
Visitors often do not know the room number they need. They know what they are trying to do: contest an assessment, request a record, start a permit, or find the right office. A directory board answers location questions. A kiosk can answer service questions.
Kliv builds the kiosk as a web app running full-screen on a mounted tablet. It answers from your uploaded documents, checks visitors into queues, gives directions, and keeps a log of questions staff should review.
Behind the glass
Five records make the kiosk useful.
The building map
Offices, windows, hours, and which services live at which counter, so a service question can end in directions.
The document shelf
Handbooks, fee schedules, office hours, meeting calendars, and records-request rules. Answers come from these documents and point back to them.
The queue ticket
Check-in writes a row with service, name, and time. Staff read the same row from their screen.
The question log
Kiosk conversations are kept for staff review. Unanswered questions show what the organization needs to document next.
The language switch
The interface can be available in 23 languages, and the assistant follows the visitor’s chosen language while reading the same documents.
An example: Marina’s county services building
Here’s how one lobby might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own documents, offices, queues, language needs, and staff review process.
A permit question gets a sourced answer
A visitor asks about selling coffee outside the courthouse. The assistant answers from the vendor handbook: two forms, a $75 permit fee, and the window that takes them, with a pointer to the page it used.
A wrong-building visit is avoided
The assessor’s office moved to the annex in March. The kiosk gives directions and today’s hours before the visitor waits in the wrong line.
Queue check-in creates a staff row
A records request becomes a queue row with name and service. The clerk calls the visitor from her own screen when the window clears.
The visitor can use another language
A visitor switches to Korean and asks about marriage-license appointments. The same documents produce an answer in the visitor’s language, and the exchange lands in the log.
Unanswered questions become staff work
At day’s end, a scheduled summary lists questions the documents could not answer. Three people asked about the new short-term-rental rule, so staff know what to publish next.
Describe the kiosk you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include documents, offices, queue rules, language support, hardware assumptions, and staff review. Here are three to build on:
County services kiosk
Permits, records, directions, and queue check-in.
“Build a lobby kiosk for our county building. Visitors should ask permit and records questions answered only from our uploaded handbooks and fee schedules, check into a queue by service and name, get directions to the right window, and have unanswered questions emailed to staff each afternoon.”
Museum lobby guide
Exhibit answers, tickets, tours, and gallery map.
“Build a lobby kiosk for our museum. It should answer visitor questions from our exhibit guides and event calendar, sell $18 adult day tickets and $9 child tickets by card, show a map of the galleries, and list today’s tours with start times and remaining capacity.”
Clinic check-in kiosk
Arrivals, wayfinding, and paperwork instructions.
“Build a check-in kiosk for our clinic lobby. Patients should join the arrival queue, see which forms their visit needs from our own instructions, get directions to the right department, and reset the screen after each visitor walks away.”
The assistant behind the screen
Grounded, or silent. The assistant answers from the documents you upload. If the documents do not contain the answer, it says so and points the visitor to a staffed window.
Every conversation is on file. Exchanges are saved as rows staff can review, including questions no page currently answers.
The queue is a table. Check-ins are rows, the staff dashboard reads them, and evening summaries can be scheduled jobs. Adding a new window is a change to the app.
Sessions reset between visitors. The next visitor gets a fresh screen. The saved conversation remains where only staff can read it.
The same grounded assistant pattern can answer on a website or inside staff tools. For permissions and agent trust, start at the agents page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder for custom web apps. You describe your kiosk, it builds the app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the full-screen web app, assistant, document shelf, queue, directions, logs, and admin screens around your lobby.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can update documents, add an office, change queue rules, add a language, or adjust staff summaries later.
What stops it from inventing policy?
Answers come from the documents you upload, and each answer can point to the page it used. If the documents are silent, the assistant declines and refers the visitor to staff.
What does the next visitor see after someone walks away?
A fresh screen. Sessions reset between visitors, while the saved conversation stays in the staff-only log.
Which languages does it speak?
The interface can be available in 23 languages, and the assistant replies in the visitor’s chosen language while reading the same documents.
What hardware does a kiosk need?
Any tablet or screen you can mount and run full-screen in a browser. The kiosk is a published web app.
Can it check visitors into a queue?
Yes. Check-in writes a queue row with service, name, and time, and staff can call visitors from their own screen.
Can staff review unanswered questions?
Yes. Conversations can be logged, and scheduled summaries can show which questions the documents could not answer.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The kiosk web app can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
Do I need a separate CMS?
No. The app can be its own admin for documents, offices, directions, queue settings, and screen text.

Build the kiosk around the questions visitors ask
Describe your documents, offices, queues, directions, languages, session rules, and staff review needs in detail. Kliv builds the kiosk from that description.
