Build a customer self-service portal
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the customer portal you want — client walls, tickets, invoices, documents, runbooks, renewals, and assistant answers — and it builds it around your business.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a fixed portal product you configure from a narrow menu — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, sign-in, organization walls, ticket views, invoice pages, document access, assistant, and admin screens. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking, and run payments through your own Stripe account where the portal takes payment. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a customer self-service portal. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own portal?
A service company may need one place where clients can see tickets, invoices, contracts, runbooks, and answers about their own account. A rented helpdesk often covers only part of that, while the rest sits in accounting, file storage, and inboxes.
Kliv builds the portal as your own app. Each client organization signs in behind its own wall. Tickets, invoices, contracts, runbooks, and assistant answers all read from records scoped to that client.
What sits behind each client’s wall
One database can serve many client organizations when each row knows who it belongs to.
Client organizations
Each client is an organization with its own users and roles, such as an office manager who files tickets and an owner who reads invoices.
Requests and history
Every request is a thread with a status the client can follow: filed, in progress, waiting on parts, or closed.
The contract shelf
Service agreements, network diagrams, and runbooks live in file storage and are shared per client organization.
Invoices and renewals
Monthly invoices can appear in the same portal as tickets, and support plans can renew through your own Stripe account.
The portal assistant
The assistant answers from the signed-in client’s runbooks and rows. A question about backups is answered from that client’s documents, and the exchange can be filed on the ticket.
An example: Theo’s IT services company
Here’s how one services business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own client roles, tickets, documents, invoices, and assistant rules.
A client files a request
A client office manager signs in with Google and files a printer request. It lands as a ticket scoped to her organization.
The assistant checks the runbook first
The portal assistant reads that client’s runbook and suggests the fix that worked in March. If it works, the ticket can close without a call.
Theo’s team sees the queue in Slack
The request posts to the team’s Slack channel with client, priority, and a link, so triage happens where the team already works.
Status is visible without a phone call
The client sees “part ordered, arriving Thursday” on the ticket. The account manager does not have to answer the same status call.
Invoices appear in the same portal
At month end, the client reads the invoice, pays it, and downloads the PDF from the same signed-in view.
Renewals recover failed cards
The support plan renews on schedule. If a card declines, retries and a recovery link go to the right client contact.
Describe the customer portal you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include organizations, roles, tickets, documents, invoices, payments, and assistant boundaries. Here are three to build on:
IT services portal
Per-client tickets, runbooks, invoices, and assistant answers.
“Build a client portal for our IT company. Each client organization should see only its own tickets, invoices, contract documents, and runbooks; an assistant should answer from that client’s documents; weekly digests should show closed tickets and waiting items; and monthly support plans should renew through our Stripe account.”
Machine service desk
Fault reports, photos, service status, and reports per site.
“Build a self-service portal for our machine servicing business. Facility managers should report faults with photos, follow repair status by site, download service reports, and approve repair quotes before work begins.”
Print shop portal
Artwork uploads, proof approvals, job status, and invoice payment.
“Build an order portal for our print shop. Customers should upload artwork, approve proofs, follow job status from prepress to delivery, pay invoices by card, and download final receipts and print specifications.”
What holds it together
Organizations are the unit of privacy. Sign-in includes organizations, roles, two-factor options, and passkeys. A client can add staff, and row-level rules keep each organization inside its own data.
The wall can be tested. A scenario can sign in as Company B and try to open Company A’s ticket in a real browser against a temporary database. The test log shows the refusals.
Digests replace status meetings. A scheduled job can email each client a weekly summary: tickets closed, hours used, and items waiting on them, all on your template.
The portal is the client-facing half of a services business. Delivery work such as projects, approvals, and retainers is covered in Kliv for agencies.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder for custom web apps. You describe the customer portal you need, it builds the app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the organization records, ticket views, invoice pages, document access, assistant, payments, and admin screens around your workflow.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add client roles, change ticket states, add invoice fields, upload new runbooks, or adjust assistant behavior later.
Can clients add their own users?
Yes. Each client can be an organization that manages its own people. Roles decide who can file requests, approve work, or read invoices.
How is client data kept separate?
Every row carries its organization, and row-level security enforces the boundary at the database. A request for another company’s ticket returns nothing.
Will the assistant know the client’s environment?
Yes, if you load that client’s runbooks and reports. The assistant reads only the signed-in client’s documents and rows, and conversations can be stored as transcripts.
Can clients pay invoices inside the portal?
Yes. Payments can run through your own Stripe account, cards can be saved, and support plans can renew on schedule.
Do my customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Customers just pay by card. Stripe is how payments reach your account.
Does Kliv take a cut of invoice payments?
No. Kliv does not take a payment cut. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Can weekly summaries send automatically?
Yes. Scheduled jobs can send client-specific summaries from your rows on your template.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The portal can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
