Build a clothing rental and subscription platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the clothing rental and subscription platform you need — garments, calendars, cleaning buffers, closet plans, swaps, repairs, and checkout — and Kliv builds it on your own Stripe account.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a shop theme or rental plugin — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, reservation rules, checkout, customer pages, and staff screens. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and payments run through your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a clothing rental and subscription platform. Kliv builds many kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own clothing rental platform?
A rental boutique is not a normal store. A garment is rented, returned, inspected, cleaned, repaired, and rented again. It can be booked for one event and unavailable for another because of cleaning time.
Kliv builds the app around that loop. Garments, reservations, cleaning windows, subscriptions, swaps, damage records, and payments live in one database.
A gown can’t be in two weddings on the same Saturday because the system will not write the conflicting reservation.
What hangs in the system
Six records that run the rack.
Garment record
Designer, size, purchase cost, condition notes, photos, and rental history all stay on the garment.
Reservation calendar
Each booking claims a date range plus your cleaning buffer. A conflicting reservation fails before it reaches staff.
Turnaround
Return, inspection, cleaning, repair, and back-on-rack states can each carry timestamps, so staff know where each piece is.
Closet subscription
A $119 monthly plan can allow four pieces out at a time, track what is due, and control what the subscriber may swap next.
Customers and fit notes
Sizes, alteration history, event dates, and preferences stay with the customer record.
Damage and repairs
Inspection photos, repair costs, and fees can attach to both the garment and the rental, so each piece’s economics stay visible.
An example: Amara’s rental boutique
Here’s how one boutique might use a clothing rental and subscription platform built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own garments, buffers, prices, subscriptions, and repair rules.
A gown is booked for a wedding
Amara’s silk gown is booked for a Saturday event, shipped before the date, and already blocked for its return and cleaning window.
Inspection starts the cleaning buffer
When the gown returns, staff scan it in, note a loose seam with a photo, and start the cleaning window. The calendar keeps the next days unavailable.
A subscriber swaps it in
A closet subscriber takes the gown as one of her four pieces. There is no new charge because her subscription is the entitlement, and the swap is recorded.
A double-booking attempt is refused
A rush request lands for a date the gown is already promised. Checkout offers another dress or another date instead of accepting the clash.
Promotion pricing runs by date
Prom-season pricing starts and ends on the schedule Amara set earlier, so weekend rates change during the window and then change back.
The garment reports its own numbers
At month end, Amara sees four rentals, one repair, and revenue against purchase cost on the garment dashboard.
Describe the rental business you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include garment rules, buffers, prices, subscription limits, and repair steps. Here are three examples to build on:
Occasion-wear boutique
Date bookings, cleaning buffers, inspections, and weekend prices.
“Build a dress rental shop where customers book gowns by event date and size, each garment has a two-day cleaning buffer between rentals, weekend rentals cost $95 to $240 depending on designer, and returns go through inspection with damage photos before the garment becomes available again.”
Monthly closet plan
Subscription wardrobe with limits, swaps, pauses, and returns.
“Build a clothing subscription where members pay $119 a month to hold four pieces at a time, can swap only after returned items are checked in, can pause their plan between seasons, and see what is out, due, and available in their size.”
Menswear for interviews
Suits, quick turnarounds, student discounts, and calendars.
“Build a suit rental service for students with weekend bookings, size profiles, a discounted first rental at $39, same-week turnaround per suit, cleaning buffers, and reminders for return deadlines.”
Stitched into one checkout
Rentals and subscriptions share one catalog. A weekend rental is a one-time purchase. A closet plan is a subscription with proration when someone upgrades to six pieces. A wedding-party package can be a bundle. All can run through checkout on your own Stripe account.
Availability is enforced by the calendar. Date ranges, cleaning buffers, and promotion windows are catalog rules. The prom-season rate scheduled in January is what April charges.
You can rehearse the season first. In the Sandbox, you can run a pretend prom month with test payments, booking collisions, subscriber pauses, and refunds before connecting Stripe.
Tests can try to break the calendar. A Scenario can attempt a double-booking in a browser against a temporary database copy, then show that the second reservation was refused. The pricing machinery underneath this — prices, windows, codes, and entitlements — is laid out at the commerce page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the rental and subscription platform you need, and it builds a real app with garment records, calendars, checkout, subscriptions, and customer pages.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds around your garments, rental windows, cleaning buffers, subscriptions, repair rules, and prices.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change prices, buffers, subscription limits, inspection steps, or promotion windows by asking for changes.
What stops a double-booking?
The database. A reservation claims its dates plus the cleaning buffer in the same write, and a conflicting write fails.
How do damage fees work?
Inspection can happen on return with photos on the rental record. If a fee applies, it can be charged as its own product from the same customer record.
How does the closet subscription know what someone may take?
The plan is an entitlement with a count, such as four pieces out at a time. A swap completes only when a piece checks back in.
Can we rehearse prom season before going live?
Yes. The Sandbox can run test payments and simulated time so you can try bookings, swaps, pauses, and refunds before connecting Stripe.
Do customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Customers pay by card or the payment methods you enable. Stripe is your payment account.
Does Kliv take a cut?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Can subscribers pause?
Yes. You can build a pause rule for seasonal plans, and access to swaps can follow the subscription state.
Can prices change for prom season?
Yes. Promotion windows can raise or lower prices for date ranges you schedule.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull.
