Build an art and gallery website
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the art and gallery website you want — works, provenance, editions, viewing rooms, collector accounts, checkout, and consignment ledgers — and it builds it on your own Stripe account.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a store template for galleries — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, logic, screens, checkout, files, and access rules. You own the result, run payments through your own Stripe account, and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template with artwork pasted in.
On this page, that app is an art and gallery website. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one handles works, provenance, editions, collectors, viewing rooms, certificates, and consignment ledgers.
Why a shopping cart is not enough for a gallery
A generic store treats art like ordinary inventory: quantity, price, add to cart. A gallery usually needs more. A work has provenance, condition notes, exhibition history, edition counts, collector records, certificates, and artist splits.
Kliv builds the gallery around those records. The work, its history, its edition count, its sale, and the consignment terms stay connected, so the storefront can sell the exact object once and keep the paperwork with it.
The work and its papers
These records keep the storefront and back office aligned.
Works and provenance
Artist, medium, dimensions, year, exhibition history, condition notes, and past owners where known. The public page shows the biography, and the sale carries it forward.
Editions and counts
A numbered edition sells by the count. When 30 of 30 sells, the edition closes automatically.
Collectors
Collector accounts keep acquisition history, interests, order history, and certificates. Each collector sees their own records only.
Viewing rooms
A pre-launch room can be shared with named collectors. Others cannot reach it, even with a leaked link.
Consignment ledger
Each sale records the gallery and artist split from the work’s consignment terms and rolls into monthly statements.
Certificates
A certificate of authenticity attaches to the collector’s purchase and the work’s history.
An example: Hana’s gallery
Here’s how one gallery might use a website built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own artists, works, edition rules, viewing rooms, checkout, and statements.
The work is entered with its history
Hana photographs a painting, records provenance, adds condition notes, and sets the consignment split agreed with the artist. Full-resolution images stay private; the public sees the versions she chooses.
Collectors preview it before launch
Six collectors who follow the artist get access to a private viewing room. Anyone outside that list cannot open the room.
The public page can be read by search engines
When the listing goes live on the gallery’s own domain, the page is prerendered with the work’s biography, so search engines and AI assistants can read it.
Checkout sells the original once
A collector buys the work for $4,800 through the gallery’s own Stripe account. The sale and sold status happen together, so a second buyer cannot complete checkout minutes later.
The artist statement comes from the ledger
At month end, the statement lists the sale, split, and balance owed from the consignment ledger, not from Hana’s memory.
Describe the gallery website you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include artists, works, edition sizes, checkout, collector accounts, viewing rooms, certificates, and consignment terms. The more detail you give, the closer the first version.
Contemporary gallery
Originals, editions, viewing rooms, and artist statements.
“Build an online gallery for the nine artists we represent. Sell originals and numbered editions through our own Stripe account, show provenance and exhibition history on every work, create invitation-only viewing rooms for named collectors, attach certificates to collector accounts, and produce monthly artist statements from consignment splits.”
Artist studio store
One artist selling direct.
“Build a studio website where I sell my own paintings and a $480 edition print run of 30. Number each print, close checkout when 30 are sold, attach a certificate to every sale, and let collectors see their order history in a private account.”
Photography print shop
Sized editions with framing options.
“Build a photography print store with three edition sizes: 8x10 at $120 in an edition of 100, 16x20 at $280 in an edition of 50, and 24x36 at $600 in an edition of 20. Offer framing as a checkout add-on, collect shipping details, and keep certificates in collector accounts.”
Commerce, gallery-grade
One-of-one sales are structural. An original has inventory of one, and the sale marks it sold in the same transaction. Two simultaneous checkouts leave one order and one sold work.
Checkout runs on your account. Cards and payments run through your own Stripe account, so the collector relationship, money, and mailing list belong to the gallery.
Splits are recorded without outsourcing payouts. The ledger records each sale against its consignment terms. The gallery still settles artists the way it chooses, with the math and trail already prepared.
Work pages are findable. Each work page is prerendered for crawlers, the sitemap stays current, and SEO checks can keep titles and descriptions clear.
The storefront machinery underneath — catalog, checkout, and a customer list that is yours — is direct-to-consumer commerce. The direct-to-consumer page gives it the full wall.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe your gallery website, and it builds a real app for works, provenance, editions, collectors, viewing rooms, checkout, certificates, and consignment records.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your works, edition rules, collector access, checkout, and ledger are built around your gallery.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add artists, change edition rules, revise viewing rooms, add reports, or change checkout details by asking.
Can we sell one-of-one works without overselling?
Yes. The sale and sold status happen together, so a second simultaneous checkout cannot complete.
How are artist splits handled?
Each sale records the split from the work’s consignment terms. Monthly statements total what is owed per artist, while payment to artists stays in the gallery’s hands.
Can select collectors preview a show before launch?
Yes. Viewing rooms can share specific works and files with named people only.
Who owns the collector list and sale history?
The gallery. Works, collectors, sales, provenance, and ledger entries are tables in your app.
Do my customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Collectors just pay by card. Payments run through your own Stripe account.
Does Kliv take a cut of sales?
No. Payments run on your Stripe account. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Will the gallery show up in search?
Yes. Public pages are prerendered and readable to crawlers, with a sitemap generated for the site.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The gallery can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
