Build a car rental and leasing system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your fleet, booking calendar, handover checklists, short rentals, trade leases, mileage, and payments, and it builds the system around them.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a rental product shaped for large chains — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the fleet database, booking calendar, checkout, handover checklists, lease invoicing, customer accounts, and admin screens. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking, and run payments on your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a car rental and leasing system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own rental system?
Independent rental operators often run a different business from the chains. One fleet may serve weekend movers, rolling monthly trade leases, damage claims, service holds, and one desk that cannot keep everything in memory.
Kliv builds the system around your actual fleet and customers. Vehicles, bookings, handover photos, renters, leases, mileage, and invoices live in one database, so availability, evidence, and billing all agree.
What the system knows
The fleet is the database. Each record carries the rule that makes it useful.
The fleet
Every vehicle has plate, class, odometer, service schedule, and insurance renewal. A van due for service can stop being bookable during the service window.
Bookings and the calendar
A booking holds the vehicle, renter, and time range. An overlapping booking is refused, so two customers cannot hold the same van.
Handover records
Pickup and return each create timestamped photo sets for panels, corners, fuel, and odometer, stored on the booking.
Renters and documents
License copies and signed agreements live with the renter account. A renter sees only their own bookings and documents.
Leases and mileage
Trade customers can hold monthly leases that invoice on schedule, with kilometres recorded per vehicle as metered usage.
An example: Samir’s port-side van fleet
Here’s how one rental operator might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own vehicles, prices, handover process, leases, mileage, and service rules.
A weekend rental books and pays
A couple books the long-wheelbase van for Friday to Monday at $180 and pays in full at checkout on Samir’s Stripe account. The van disappears from weekend availability immediately.
Pickup records the evidence
At the desk, the checklist captures the license, walkaround photos, fuel, and odometer before the keys leave.
Return completes the comparison
On Sunday, the return checklist creates the second photo set on the same booking. Condition is now documented before and after.
A damage charge has support
A new scrape appears on the rear quarter. Samir compares the photo sets and sends a one-time invoice with the evidence attached.
Service blocks the right day
The odometer crosses the service threshold. A scheduled job blocks Thursday for the workshop and emails the mechanic, while every other available day remains bookable.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include vehicles, prices, handover rules, leases, mileage, and payments. Here are three to build on:
Van fleet rentals
Weekend rentals plus monthly trade leases.
“Build a van rental system for 18 vans with per-vehicle calendars, paid-in-full online booking at $180 for a weekend long-wheelbase van, photo checklists at pickup and return, and monthly invoiced leases for trade customers with per-kilometre mileage charges.”
Classic car weekends
High-value cars, strict handover, and seasonal pricing.
“Build a classic car rental site with a showcase page per car, weekend bookings, a detailed photo handover protocol, a $500 deposit, and summer pricing that runs from June 1 through August 31.”
Corporate lease desk
Company fleets, invoices, and mileage billing.
“Build a leasing portal where companies manage leased vehicles, see monthly invoices with per-kilometre charges above 1,500 km per month, and request swaps or early returns from their dashboard.”
How it comes together
Mileage can be metered billing. For leases billed per kilometre, the odometer reading you record is the meter the invoice reads from.
Seasonal pricing can run on dates. Summer moving rates or winter discounts can open and close on the schedule you set, and checkout charges the price active that day.
You can test the season first. In the Sandbox, use test payments and simulated time to run bookings, lease invoices, card failures, damage charges, refunds, and recoveries before taking real payments.
A rental counter is also a local business: pickup directions, service area, and the phone that rings. The local playbook lives at the local-business solutions page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For rental and leasing, that can mean fleet records, calendars, checkout, handover checklists, lease invoices, mileage, and customer accounts.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the data, screens, and rules around your fleet. It is not a generic rental theme.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can ask for changes such as a new vehicle class, another checklist item, seasonal prices, or a different lease rule.
Can it prevent double bookings?
Yes. A booking has a vehicle and time range, and a conflicting booking is rejected by the database.
How do damage claims work?
Pickup and return photo sets are stored on the booking. A damage charge can go out as a one-time invoice on your Stripe account with evidence attached.
Can weekend rentals and long-term leases share the fleet?
Yes. They share one availability calendar per vehicle. Short rentals can be paid at booking, while leases invoice monthly.
What do renters see when they sign in?
Their own bookings, invoices, documents, and handover photos. Other customers’ records stay unavailable.
Does Kliv take a cut of rentals?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do renters need Stripe accounts?
No. Renters pay by card. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The rental system can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your records can be exported.
Do I need a separate admin tool?
No. The app is its own admin for vehicles, bookings, renters, leases, documents, and prices.
