    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a franchise shop suite you configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, vehicle records, estimate flow, approval rules, work orders, reminders, customer portal, and payment flow. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own domain, take payments through your own Stripe account, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.

On this page, that app is an automotive repair and maintenance system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; shop systems are one example.

Why build your own shop system?

Independent garages often need details that larger shop suites do not fit well: vehicle history by VIN, photos attached to estimates, approvals from a customer’s phone, seasonal tire storage, and reminders that bring regulars back.

Kliv builds the system around the way your counter works. You describe the bays, approval rules, tire racks, reminders, and payment flow, and the app keeps those records and rules together.

    What the shop system tracks

Six records run the shop and keep the history clear.

    Vehicles and VINs

Every car has a record with VIN, odometer history, and every job the shop has done. “What did we do last time?” becomes a lookup.

    Estimates and approvals

An estimate has line items and photos. It becomes a work order only after the customer approves it, with name and timestamp recorded.

    Work orders

Each work order tracks status, labor, parts, and the tech assigned. The invoice at pickup matches the approved estimate line by line.

    Tire storage

Stored tire sets keep customer, vehicle, rack location, tread depth at drop-off, and return season. Rack locations stop living in someone’s head.

    Reminders

Each service can write the next interval: oil change, inspection, or seasonal tire swap. A scheduled job sends the reminders.

    Customers

Each customer record connects phone, vehicles, stored tire sets, approvals, and a portal where the customer sees their own vehicles and nobody else’s.

An example: Marta’s auto repair shop

Here’s how one repair shop might use an automotive service app built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own jobs, approvals, reminders, and payment rules.

    01

Marta’s booking brings up the wagon’s history

A regular books Thursday at 8:00. The 2009 wagon’s record comes up with the booking: 214,000 km, and rear brakes flagged at the last visit.

    02

Check-in starts from the known condition

Staff add photos at the counter and log the odometer. The car’s page already lists April’s flagged brakes, so nothing depends on anyone remembering April.

    03

The estimate reaches the owner with proof

Rear rotors, pads, and one seized caliper are added as lines with photos. The estimate lands on the owner’s phone at 11:20, and she approves from the staff room at work by 12:40.

    04

Work waits for the approval row

The job cannot move into the bay until approval is recorded. Parts are logged as they are fitted, labor as it happens, and the $85 diagnostic she already paid credits against the total.

    05

    Pickup matches what she approved

The invoice matches the estimate. The owner pays by card at the counter or through the link on her phone, and either way it settles through Marta’s Stripe account.

    06

The next service reminder carries the details

In October, the winter-tire reminder goes out on schedule: the tires are on rack B4, and tread was 7 mm in May. The owner books from the email. Marta did none of the manual chasing.

Describe the shop system you want

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include vehicles, estimates, approvals, work orders, reminders, payments, and storage rules. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    Three-bay garage

    History, estimates, and lift boards.

“Build a shop system for my three-bay garage. Track service history by VIN, create photo-backed estimates, let customers approve estimates from their phone before work starts, show a job status board for each lift, and take payment through our own Stripe account.”

    kliv.dev

    Mobile mechanic

    Driveway slots and pay-by-link.

“Build an app for my mobile mechanic business. Customers should book driveway time slots, enter vehicle details and symptoms, approve photo estimates, receive status updates, and pay by link when the job closes.”

    kliv.dev

    Tire storage

Racks, tread depths, and swap seasons.

“Build a tire storage tracker for my garage. Track customer sets, vehicles, rack locations, tread depth at drop-off, storage season, and automatic swap reminders each spring and fall.”

    How it comes together

Photos support the estimate. Estimate photos sit in the app’s file store with per-customer access rules. A customer sees photos for their own vehicle, not anyone else’s.

Approval is a rule, not a suggestion. A Scenario test can fill out an estimate, skip approval, and try to start the job. The write should fail, proving the rule holds even on a busy day.

Reminders use shop wording. The October tire email can use your wording and your shop’s name, assembled by a scheduled job from each vehicle’s interval and each tire set’s rack record.

Kliv does not charge per work order or per customer on file. Card payments run through Stripe on an account that belongs to the shop. A garage is a local business before anything else, and the wider pattern, from bookings to reminders to being found on the town’s map, is laid out at the local-business solutions page.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the shop system you need, and it builds vehicle records, estimates, approvals, work orders, reminders, customer portal, storage tracking, and payments.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Vehicles, VIN history, estimates, approvals, work orders, reminders, tire storage, and customer access are built around your shop’s workflow.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can ask to change approval rules, add services, add tire storage fields, change reminder timing, or add a new status board.

Can customers approve estimates without installing anything?

Yes. The estimate is a page opened from a link in email or text. Approval writes a row with a name and timestamp, and the job status depends on that approval.

Can I import years of paper or spreadsheet history?

Yes. Existing history can be imported so each line joins a vehicle record. From then on, the history is in the shop’s database and can be exported later.

    What runs the reminders?

A scheduled job reads each vehicle’s service intervals and each tire set’s swap season, then sends email in wording you wrote.

Does Kliv take a cut of invoices?

No. Kliv does not take a per-invoice fee or charge per customer on file. Card processing is between the shop and Stripe, on your own Stripe account.

Do customers need their own Stripe accounts?

No. Customers pay by card or payment link. Stripe is how the money reaches your shop’s account.

Can customers see only their own vehicles?

Yes. Portal access can be scoped so each customer sees only their own vehicles, estimates, invoices, and stored tire sets.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The shop system and customer portal can run on your own domain.

Will the shop show up in search?

Yes. Public pages can be prerendered for crawlers, and the sitemap is generated automatically.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, and your data can be exported.
