Build a cargo management and optimization system

Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your cargo desk — bookings, cube and weight, dock tallies, load plans, cutoffs, roll lists, and shipper access — and it builds the app around it.

    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a carrier system with modules you do not need — it’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, booking screens, tally tools, load-plan views, cutoff rules, shipper portal, scheduled jobs, and dashboards. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking, and run it on your own accounts. It isn’t a template.

On this page, that app is a cargo management and optimization system. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.

Why the workbook is not enough

A consolidation desk may know exactly how it works: weekly boxes, lanes, shippers, cutoffs, cube totals, dock tallies, and roll lists. A workbook can hold those rules, but it cannot reliably enforce them, notify shippers, or protect each shipper’s view.

Kliv builds the desk’s rules into a real database. Bookings, cube, weight, cutoffs, dock tallies, load plans, rates, and shipper access become records and workflows the desk can trust.

Bookings, cube, cutoff: what the desk tracks

The app keeps the records that replace fragile workbook tabs.

    Bookings and running totals

Each booking carries pieces, cubic metres, weight, lane, and ready date. The container total recalculates when a booking is accepted.

    Dock tallies

Received-on-dock counts compare against booked counts. A short shipment is flagged when it misses the truck, not on loading morning.

    Load plans

Heavy freight, no-stack flags, and incompatible hazard classes can be respected in the draft plan, with manual exceptions saved and explained.

    Cutoffs and roll lists

Thursday 16:00 can be a rule. Late bookings roll to the next sailing, and the shipper is notified with the new dates.

    Lanes and rate cards

Each lane can hold schedule, buy rate, sell rate per cubic metre, minimums, and validity dates, so margin is computed from confirmed bookings.

    The shipper’s window

Each shipper signs in to see its own bookings, tally results, and sailing status. Other shippers’ cargo is not available.

An example: Teodora’s Valencia consolidation desk

Here’s how one freight desk might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own lanes, rates, cutoffs, tally process, and shipper rules.

    01

A booking updates the running total

A shipper books 14 pallets, 11.2 cubic metres, ready Wednesday. The Valencia container moves to 31 of 58 cubic metres committed.

    02

The dock tally catches the short shipment

The tally clerk counts cartons on a tablet. One booking is two cartons short, so the discrepancy is recorded and the shipper gets an email.

    03

The load plan uses the rows

At 52 cubic metres, the draft plan puts machine parts on the floor, no-stack crates above, and incompatible hazard classes apart.

    04

    The cutoff is enforced evenly

At Thursday 16:00, the booking window closes. A late request rolls to next week’s sailing automatically and in writing.

    05

The sailing closes with margin visible

Statuses flip, notifications go out, and the sailing’s margin appears beside its 96% fill rate.

Describe what you want to build

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include lanes, units, limits, cutoffs, rate cards, and who sees what. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    Air cargo build-up

ULDs, weight limits, and left-behind freight.

“Build a ULD build-up planner for our air cargo desk. Assign booked shipments to containers and pallets per flight, track volume and weight against each unit’s limits, flag freight left on the ground, and notify the shipper with the next available flight.”

    kliv.dev

    Reefer groupage

    Temperature bands and compatible containers.

“Build a reefer consolidation tracker where every booking carries pieces, cubic metres, weight, temperature band, and ready date. Containers should hold only compatible bands, and the desk should see set point against booking before doors close.”

    kliv.dev

    Pallet network hub

Inbound scans, outbound bays, and missed departures.

“Build an overnight cross-dock tool that scans inbound pallets against manifests, assigns each pallet to an outbound bay by destination, and reports what missed the 22:00 departure and why.”

Where the desk stops doing arithmetic

Changes can be described in conversation. If the Piraeus lane adds a fuel surcharge or a customer needs a fourth address field, you describe the change and the app updates.

Scheduled jobs carry the calendar. A Wednesday cutoff reminder can go to shippers with open space, and a Monday digest can show fill rate, roll rate, and margin by lane.

IT can inspect the system. The app’s source syncs to your own Git repository, so the desk is not hidden inside a vendor workbook.

The workbook the desk fights every Thursday is useful evidence. How teams build their own tools explains how that evidence turns into software.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For cargo management, that can mean bookings, dock tallies, cube math, load plans, cutoffs, shipper portals, and dashboards.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database, screens, access rules, and workflows around your desk.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You can ask for changes such as a new lane, rate-card field, cutoff rule, warehouse, or report.

Can shippers see each other’s cargo?

No. Access rules scope each shipper to its own bookings. Staff can see everything because their role allows it.

What happens to a booking that misses the cutoff?

It rolls to the next sailing on the lane, the shipper is notified with new dates, and the roll is recorded for reporting.

Can it hold rate cards with minimums?

Yes. Rate cards can store lane, buy rate, sell rate, minimum, and validity dates. Margin can be computed from confirmed bookings.

Can we track received cargo against booked cargo?

Yes. Dock tallies can compare what arrived against what was booked and flag short or over shipments immediately.

Can it handle no-stack or hazard rules?

Yes, if you describe those rules. The load plan can respect flags and store manual exceptions with reasons.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The shipper portal and staff app can run on your own domain.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your data can be exported.

Do I need a separate admin tool?

No. The app is its own admin for lanes, rate cards, bookings, shippers, cutoffs, and reports.
