Build an architecture client project portal
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the architecture client project portal you need — versioned drawings, approvals, project walls, decision logs, assistants, and invoices — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a project portal product you configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, logic, screens, files, and access rules. You own the result, run it on your own accounts, and can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template portal.
On this page, that app is an architecture client project portal. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one keeps drawings, approvals, decisions, invoices, and project-specific assistants inside client walls.
Why current drawings need a portal
Architecture teams answer the same question again and again: is this the latest set? Email threads and file names make that harder than it should be. Rev C, Rev B, and contractor copies can all keep circulating after a newer issue exists.
Kliv builds a portal where the current set is a database fact. Each client signs in to one project with drawings, approvals, comments, decisions, and an assistant scoped to that project. The portal replaces reply-all threads with records.
The project file, sheet by sheet
Six records keep each project clear and walled.
Projects
Each project stores client, site, phase, and team. Fourteen projects become fourteen walled files.
Drawing sets
Plans, sections, and elevations upload as revisions. Superseded revisions are kept and marked; the current one is clear.
Approvals
Issued, under review, returned with comments, and approved states record who moved the set and when.
Decision log
Window changes, cladding swaps, and other decisions are rows tied to drawings, so they remain findable later.
Client sightlines
A client login reads rows tied to that client’s project only. Other projects are not returned.
Project assistant
The assistant answers from that project’s documents and log, for that signed-in client only.
An example: Sofia’s architecture studio
Here’s how one studio might use a client portal built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own project phases, revision rules, client roles, and approval process.
A new revision lands with the right status
Sofia uploads Rev C of the kitchen elevations. Rev B is marked superseded at the same time, while the file store keeps both.
The clients get a link, not an attachment
The homeowners receive an email from the studio with a link to the portal. The set stays in the portal instead of spreading through forwarded files.
Comments stay on the drawing
The clients pin comments to Rev C. The set moves to returned with comments, and the questions stay attached to the sheets.
The next revision carries the reasoning forward
Rev D resolves the comments and keeps the comment history with it, so the reason for the change remains part of the record.
Approval records a person and time
The client approves Rev D. The state changes with a name and timestamp, and the contractor can download the approved set.
The assistant answers months later
In winter, someone asks who approved moving the window. The assistant answers from the decision log and links the matching drawing.
Describe the portal you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include project roles, revision states, comment rules, consultant access, approvals, and invoices. The more detail you give, the closer the first version.
Residential studio portal
Homeowners, revisions, comments, and approvals.
“Build a client portal for my residential architecture studio. Each homeowner sees only their own project, drawing sets have revision letters, clients can pin comments to sheets, approvals record names and dates, and contractors can download only the approved revision.”
Firm with consultants
Engineers see drawings but not fees.
“Build a project portal for our architecture firm. Clients approve issued sets, consulting engineers see drawings and comments for their assigned projects, engineers never see fees or contracts, and phase invoices can be paid online through our own Stripe account.”
Landscape practice portal
Planting plans, site photos, and phases.
“Build a portal for my landscape architecture practice. Track planting plans by revision, collect seasonal site photo updates, require client approval before each phase starts, and keep a decision log for plant substitutions.”
The structure behind the portal
The wall is in the database. A client login reads rows tied to that project and no more. A Scenario test can sign in as one client and verify another project is absent.
Approval states control downloads. Issued, under review, returned, and approved are structured states. Contractor-facing downloads can serve only the approved revision.
The assistant is scoped like the portal. It reads the signed-in client’s project — drawing sets, comments, and decision log — and stays outside the studio’s other projects.
Running client work with retainers, approvals, and walls between accounts is covered more broadly on the agencies page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe your architecture portal, and it builds a real app for projects, drawing revisions, approvals, comments, documents, assistants, and client access.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your revision states, project roles, client walls, consultant access, and approval rules are built around your studio.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add phases, revise approval states, change consultant access, or add new project records by asking.
Can the structural engineer see the client’s contract?
No, unless you allow it. A consultant can see drawings and comments for assigned projects without seeing fees, contracts, or client correspondence.
What happens if a client approves the wrong revision?
The approval names the revision, so the mistake is visible. The returned state exists for walking a set back, and transitions stay in the log.
Does the assistant know all our projects?
No. It reads the project of the signed-in client. The same client wall that scopes the portal scopes the assistant.
Can we invoice through the portal?
Yes. Phase invoices can ride the same project record and be paid online through the studio’s own Stripe account.
Can clients comment on drawings?
Yes. Comments can be pinned to sheets and carried into the next revision’s history.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The portal can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
Do I need a separate file-sharing tool?
No. Drawing files, comments, approvals, and access rules can live in the same app.

Make the current set clear
Describe how your practice issues drawings, records approvals, and walls off each project. Kliv builds the portal around that process.
