    What is Kliv?

Kliv isn’t a writing-management product you sign up for and configure. It’s an AI that builds software for you.

You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the logic, the screens, and the workflows. What you get is a real, working app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own domain and, for paid readers, your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template with your name on it.

On this page, that app is a writing and storytelling management app for your books or series. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one of them, and that’s what the rest of this page covers.

Why a long series needs its own system

A long-running story creates facts that are hard to keep in ordinary writing tools: who knows what, which promise was made in which chapter, which draft beta readers saw, and who has paid for early chapters.

Kliv builds the system around the writing. The bible, drafts, beta access, reader circle, comments, snapshots, and discussions become records in an app you own. Kliv does not write the prose for you.

    A saga’s working parts

These records help keep canon, drafts, readers, and access together.

    Series bible

Characters, places, oaths, events, and rules can be records that cite the chapter and draft where they were established.

    Manuscripts and drafts

Chapters can keep versioned drafts, so the draft beta readers saw in March remains available beside the later revision.

    Beta readers

Each reader can be invited to one draft of one book. Comments live on the scene they mark, with access limited by the invitation.

    Readers’ circle

A $44-a-year subscription can open early chapters to current members and close access when a card lapses.

    Chapter discussions

Reader discussions can belong to the chapter they discuss, under rules you set for the community.

    An example: Halla’s fantasy series

Here’s how one writer might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own books, drafts, canon, beta process, reader access, and paid circle.

    01

    Old drafts become searchable material

Halla brings in three finished books, a novella, and years of drafts. The bible starts indexing the text that already exists.

    02

The bible answers from the books

She asks what Sereth swore at the ford in book two. The answer comes back with chapter and draft. She asks about eye color, and the app points to where it changed.

    03

    Beta readers get narrow access

Three readers receive draft six of book four and nothing else. Even a close friend cannot open the unpublished ending unless invited.

    04

A paid chapter publishes on schedule

Chapter forty-one publishes to current reader-circle members while Halla is away. The discussion thread belongs to that chapter.

    05

A snapshot protects a risky revision

Before moving a death two books earlier, Halla takes a snapshot. If the experiment fails, the app can step back to the save point.

    06

Book five starts from the record

The new outline is checked against the bible, so promises the series already made are visible before drafting begins.

Describe the writing app you want

Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include your books, drafts, bible fields, beta-reader rules, paid access, snapshots, and discussions. Here are three to build on:

    kliv.dev

    Series novelist

Canon bible, versioned drafts, and scoped beta access.

“Build a writing app for my four-book fantasy series. Keep a series bible of characters, places, promises, and events cited to chapters; store versioned drafts; and invite beta readers to one draft each with comments on scenes.”

    kliv.dev

    Serial with subscribers

Scheduled chapters, paid early access, and discussion threads.

“Build a serialized fiction site where chapters publish on a schedule, paying subscribers read two weeks early for $44 a year, and each chapter has its own discussion thread.”

    kliv.dev

    Shared-world group

Common canon, per-writer drafts, and editor approval.

“Build a workspace for five writers sharing one story world. Include a common canon wiki, per-writer drafts, beta notes, and an editor role that approves what becomes official.”

    How the writing stays yours

The bible’s answers come from your own books and notes. The agent answers from that corpus and points to chapters or drafts, rather than writing the story for you. Every question and answer can be stored so you see what the bible still needs.

Snapshots let you try a major revision and step back if it fails. The reader circle can use the same records as payments: membership opens early access, and failed-card recovery can happen automatically.

Kliv does not charge per reader. A writer who publishes chapters is also running a creator business; Kliv for creators covers that side.

    Common questions

    What exactly is Kliv?

Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. You tell it what you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For this page, that means a writing app with a series bible, versioned drafts, beta-reader access, comments, snapshots, reader subscriptions, and chapter discussions.

Do I get a real app, or a template?

A real app. Kliv builds the database, the logic, and the screens for your specific case. It is not a pre-made theme you fill in.

Can I change it after it’s built?

Yes. You ask for changes in plain words and Kliv updates the app, without starting over.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. The app can run on your own domain and go live as soon as you build it.

Can I move off Kliv later?

Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.

Does Kliv take a cut of payments?

No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Stripe’s card-processing fees are between you and Stripe.

Do my customers need their own Stripe accounts?

No. Your customers pay by card. Stripe is how money reaches your account; they do not need to manage Stripe.

Does Kliv write any of the prose?

No. Kliv builds the system around your writing. The agent answers questions from your own corpus; the sentences remain yours.

Can beta readers see each other or the rest of the series?

Only if you decide. An invitation can cover one draft of one book, and comments can be visible to you and the reader by default.

What happens when a reader-circle card lapses?

The subscription and access gate are tied together. Early access can close on schedule and reopen when payment is fixed.

Can I import years of Word files?

Yes. Manuscripts can upload into the file store and become part of the corpus the bible indexes.

Can the bible cite chapters and drafts?

Yes. Facts can point to the chapter and draft where they appear, so answers are traceable.

Can I keep different draft versions?

Yes. Drafts stack instead of replacing one another, so feedback always refers to the version readers saw.

Can multiple writers share one world?

Yes. You can create a shared canon area, per-writer drafts, and an editor role that approves official entries.
