Build a ticket management and reservation system
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your ticket management and reservation system, with reserved seats, season passes, comps, waitlists, and a live door list, and Kliv builds it on your own Stripe account.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a ticketing platform built for arenas you sign up for and configure — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the rules, the screens, and the checkout. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run payments through your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a ticket management and reservation system built around your house rules. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one of them, and that’s what the rest of this page covers.
Why build your own ticketing?
Many ticketing platforms are built for large venues: dynamic pricing, service fees, and assumptions that do not fit a 90-seat theater. A smaller box office may need reserved seats, season passes, pay-what-you-can previews, press comps, and a waitlist that follows a clear order.
Kliv builds the box office around your rules. Seats, orders, passes, comps, and waitlist claims are records in one database, so the seat map, waitlist, and door list agree about who holds each seat.
What the box office knows
The details a small venue needs, and where each rule is enforced.
Performances
Each performance has its production, curtain time, and prices: $18 previews, $32 regular tickets, or opening night with a toast included.
Seat map
Every seat in every performance is a row: open, held, sold, or comped. Two orders cannot sell the same seat because the database refuses the second write.
Season passes
A pass can renew every June and give holders early seat selection for each production. If renewal fails, the early window closes on schedule.
Comps and door list
Press, donors, and guest comps run through the same checkout path as paid tickets, so the door list is one current list instead of several spreadsheets.
Waitlist
When a seat opens on a sold-out night, the next person in line gets an email with an expiring claim link. Order is preserved without a counter argument.
An example: The Cannery’s 90-seat theater
Here’s how one venue might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own room, prices, passes, comps, policies, and waitlist rules.
A subscriber swaps seats without office work
A season-pass holder moves her pair from Thursday to Friday in her account. Both seat maps update in the same transaction, so the office has nothing to reconcile later.
The last seats sell without overselling
The final four seats sell in one evening. There is no 91st ticket because there is no extra seat row for the system to sell.
A returned seat goes to the waitlist
A ticket holder cancels. The theater’s policy gives a credit toward a future performance, and the first waitlist name receives an expiring claim link.
The door list is live at check-in
The usher’s phone shows names, seats, comps, and verified passes. A latecomer is a lookup, not a lobby argument.
The recap is ready the next morning
A scheduled report lists seats sold, comped, credited, and final prices. The hand-built spreadsheet is replaced by a report from the ticket records.
Describe the box office you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include capacity, seat rules, prices, passes, comps, waitlists, and refunds. Here are three to build on:
Reserved seating
A 90-seat room with subscriber early access.
“Build a reserved-seating box office for a 90-seat repertory theater. Create a seat map for every performance, let subscribers choose seats one week before public sale, charge $18 for previews and $32 for regular tickets, and give ushers a live door list on phones.”
Season passes
Annual renewal with early seat selection.
“Add a season pass that renews every June for $180, gives holders early seat selection for each production, lets them change their own card, and closes the early-access privilege automatically if renewal payment lapses.”
Pay-what-you-can night
Flexible price with a floor, on the same seat map.
“Make Thursday previews pay-what-you-can with a $5 minimum, on the same seat map and door list as full-price nights, and include the selected amount on the receipt.”
How it comes together
One catalog can carry every way into the house: single tickets, season passes, and comps. Free tickets run through the same checkout path as paid ones, which is why the door list is complete.
Early-bird pricing is a dated window. The deadline printed in your program is the deadline the store keeps. When a performance cancels, refund requests can wait for your approval, and credits can offer the option many regulars prefer.
Before real cards are used, the whole season can be rehearsed in the Sandbox with test payments and simulated time: sell out a run, lapse a pass, cancel a night, and inspect what happens.
Ticketing is one corner of running events. The wider room is mapped on the events solutions page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder that builds custom web apps from a description. For ticketing, it can build seat maps, checkout, passes, comps, waitlists, door lists, refunds, and admin screens.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds your venue’s data, rules, and screens. It is not a generic ticket page with your logo.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change prices, seat rules, pass privileges, comp policies, refund flows, and waitlist behavior later by asking.
Are seats genuinely reserved, or just counted?
Genuinely reserved. Each seat in each performance is its own record, and the database refuses a second sale of the same seat.
What happens when we cancel a performance?
Ticket holders can be emailed on your template. Refunds can enter an approval queue, and credits toward a future performance can be offered instead.
Is there a fee added to each ticket by Kliv?
No. Kliv does not price your app by tickets or attendees. Payments run on your own Stripe account, and card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do my guests need Stripe accounts?
No. Guests pay by card. Stripe is how the money reaches your account.
Can subscribers manage their own passes?
Yes. Pass holders can have an account page for their card, renewal, and seats. Failed renewal payments can retry automatically with reminder emails.
Can we handle comps and press seats?
Yes. Comps can run through the same checkout path as paid tickets so they appear on the same door list.
Can a waitlist claim expire?
Yes. Released seats can be offered in order with claim links that expire after the time you set.
Can we test a season before connecting Stripe?
Yes. The Sandbox can run test payments and simulated time before you connect real payments.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The ticketing app can run on your own domain.
