Build a streaming platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your streaming catalog — works, credits, rights windows, passes, rentals, and master-file rules — and it builds the platform.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a video hosting site — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the catalog, the database, the pages, the payment flow, and the access rules. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking.
On this page, that app is a streaming platform for your own catalog. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own streaming platform?
A repertory or archive is more than a set of videos. Each work may have a choreographer, composer, cast list, program note, music license, release date, and end date. A general video site does not treat those details as rules.
Kliv builds the catalog around the records you describe. Works appear only inside their rights windows. A pass or rental opens the right stream. Payments can run through your own Stripe account, and the platform lives on your own domain.
A catalog in rows
Under the player is a database that knows what each work is and when it may be watched.
The work
Title, choreographer, composer, program note, and rights window live on the work record. The catalog shows the work between those dates and not after.
The staging
Each filmed capture can have its own cast, venue, and year. A 2021 staging and a new staging can sit under the same work without overwriting each other.
The pass and rental
A $92 season pass and a $7.75 rental that opens one work for 48 hours both run through checkout and become recorded viewing rights.
The audience
Accounts can show what someone watched and where they stopped. Completion and trailer-to-rental events can feed the season report.
Credits
Dancers, composers, performers, and designers are credited on the record, so program pages are generated from data instead of copy-pasted lists.
An example: Tereza’s contemporary dance company
Here’s how one company might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own catalog, rights windows, passes, and rentals.
The filmed work is stored safely
Closing night is filmed. The master file stays in the company’s file store under private access rules; the audience streams an encoded copy.
The program page holds the details
Tereza adds the note, credits, cast, composer, and license end date to one record for the work.
The release happens on schedule
At 8 p.m. on Friday, the work becomes public because the rights window says it should. Pass holders press play; other visitors see the trailer and rental button.
A rental opens for 48 hours
A dance teacher in another country rents the film for $7.75. The purchase opens that work for 48 hours without anyone at the company doing anything.
The work leaves when the license ends
In May, the music license ends. The work comes off the public shelf that night because the end date was always on the row.
Describe the streaming platform you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include the catalog structure, rights windows, prices, access rules, credits, and what each visitor may watch.
Dance company catalog
Filmed repertory with rights windows and passes.
“Build a streaming catalog for our dance company with a program note, choreographer, composer, cast list, and rights window for each filmed work. Sell a $92 season pass and $7.75 48-hour rentals, and take expired works offline automatically.”
Theater on demand
Archived productions rented one at a time.
“Build a streaming site for our theater’s archived productions where each show has a cast list, director note, trailer, and 72-hour rental at $9. Members with a $60 season pass can watch every production currently licensed.”
Concert film library
Supporter access with performer credits.
“Build a concert film library for our chamber ensemble where supporters pay $12 a month to watch, each film lists performers and repertoire, and expired licenses remove films from the public catalog automatically.”
How the catalog runs
Rights windows control availability. A work appears when its start date arrives and leaves when its end date arrives. Renewing the license is an edit to the record.
Masters and streams have different access rules. Master files stay private in your file store. Audience access opens the stream, not the vault.
Reports count the events you care about. You can track events such as “watched to the end” or “rented after the trailer” because those events are stored next to the revenue records.
The pages, audience, and payment door are part of what media businesses share. Media businesses on Kliv covers the wider pattern.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For streaming, it builds a real catalog, player pages, payments, and access rules around your content.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds your catalog structure, rights-window logic, checkout, and audience views for your case.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for new pass types, rental terms, catalog fields, or page changes, and Kliv updates the app.
Do premieres stream live?
This page describes scheduled release of recordings. If you broadcast live, you keep your broadcast tool; the catalog can take the recording afterward and give it a permanent page.
Does everything have to sit behind the pass?
No. Each work can be public, rentable, pass-only, or unavailable outside its rights window.
What happens when a music license expires?
The work leaves the public catalog on the end date. Pass holders can see it marked as out of license, and it returns if you extend the window.
Who owns the films?
You do. Masters stay in your file store, the catalog is in your database, and the app is yours.
Can I sell rentals and passes together?
Yes. A pass and a rental are both access rights recorded by checkout, with their own scope and duration.
Does Kliv take a cut of sales?
No. Payments can run on your own Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The streaming platform can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s source syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull.
