Build a contract generation and e-signature app
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe how agreements are generated, sent, signed, reminded, and filed, and it builds the contract workflow as a real app.

What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a generic signing product — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the document workflow, the screens, and the rules. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, available on your own domain for the people you invite, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a contract generation and signing workflow. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own signing tool?
Per-envelope pricing puts a fee on every signature, and generic signing services do not know what is inside your agreement. An event-staffing agency sending thirty engagement agreements a week may need templates that pull from the client record, merge fields that know the rate card, and reminders that run without a coordinator keeping a list.
Kliv builds the path as one app: generate, send, remind, sign, and file. The agreement, client, request, and acceptance record reference each other, so the system can answer what was agreed to and when.
The objects behind every agreement
Five records make the workflow traceable.
Templates and merge fields
Your agreement is a template with fields for client name, dates, rate table, and clauses that vary by engagement. The fields fill from records instead of copied files.
The signature request
A generated document becomes a private link with an expiry and a status: sent, viewed, signed. The link opens the exact version created for that client.
The acceptance record
Who accepted, when, from where, and which document version are written to the database when the signature happens.
Reminders
If a request is unsigned after three days, a scheduled job sends the reminder. The follow-up no longer depends on someone checking a tracker.
The executed archive
Signed copies file themselves under the client in the file store. Access rules decide which client and staff accounts can see each agreement.
An example: Omar’s event-staffing agency
Here’s how one agency might use a contract app built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own templates, fields, reminders, and filing rules.
The agreement is generated from records
A coordinator picks the client and engagement. A server-side function merges the template with client details, dates, and rates, then stamps the result as a new document version.
The client receives a private signing link
The email opens that client’s document and nothing else. The status changes from sent to viewed when the client opens it.
Unsigned requests get reminded
After three days without a signature, the reminder goes out automatically. Coordinators can focus on the engagement rather than chasing paperwork.
The signature creates proof
Acceptance records the name, timestamp, source, and document version. Both parties receive the executed copy.
The signed copy files itself
The PDF lands in the client archive, and a Slack message posts to the deals channel: signed and ready to staff.
Describe the agreement workflow
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include templates, fields, signing order, reminders, and what a signature unlocks. Here are three examples:
Staffing agreements
Generate, send, remind, sign, and archive.
“Build a contract tool for our event-staffing agency. Generate engagement agreements from templates using client name, event dates, hourly rates, and cancellation clauses; send private signing links; remind unsigned clients after 3 and 7 days; and archive executed copies per client.”
Rental contracts
Signed contract required before handover.
“Build a hire-agreement tool for our equipment rental company. Generate contracts with item lists, rental dates, deposit amount, and liability terms; send signing links; and block handover until the signature is recorded.”
Onboarding packets
Several documents signed in order.
“Build a client onboarding tool that sends new clients a packet of four agreements: services agreement, data-processing addendum, billing authorization, and project kickoff form. Require them to be signed in order and track completion per document.”
How it comes together
Generation is server-side logic. A typed TypeScript server-side function reads the client record, fills the template, and creates the document. A rate-card change affects the next generated agreement, while the version already sent remains reconstructable.
The record is the point. Acceptance rows carry name, time, source, and document version. Executed copies live in the access-ruled file store. If a dispute question arrives later, the answer is a lookup.
You can test the workflow before relying on it. Ask Kliv for a Scenario test that signs as a test client and verifies an unsigned agreement blocks the next step. It runs in a real browser against a throwaway copy of the database, with side effects receipted.
Contracts are the front door of many services businesses. The rest of the house — quotes, projects, invoices, and repeat work — is on the services page.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For contract generation, it builds the templates, records, signing flow, reminders, archive, and permissions.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. It is built around your templates, fields, reminders, and filing rules, not a generic signing form.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for a clause change, new reminder timing, another signer role, or a changed archive rule, and Kliv updates the app.
Is a signature collected this way binding?
The app records who accepted which document version, when, and from where, and stores the executed copy unchanged. Whether a document needs a qualified signature process is a legal question for your counsel.
Can clients see their own contracts later?
Yes. Give clients a sign-in, and row-level rules scope them to their own agreements.
What stops an outdated template going out?
The signing link opens the numbered document version generated for that client. Editing a template later does not change documents already in flight.
Can we change the templates ourselves?
Yes. Describe the clause or wording change in chat. The next generated agreement uses it, and earlier versions stay on the record.
Can reminders stop after a signature?
Yes. Reminder jobs read the request status, so they stop when the document is signed.
Can there be more than one signer?
Yes. If your workflow needs several signers or a required order, describe it and the signing states can reflect that.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Signing pages and client access can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. Your records and files are exportable, and the code syncs to your own Git repository.
Can the app notify our team when a document is signed?
Yes. The source workflow includes a Slack notification, and that decision is recorded on the agreement.
