Build a synagogue and Jewish community platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your congregation — households, pledges, yahrzeits, High Holy Days seats, school enrollment, and reminders — and it builds the platform.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a congregation product with one fixed membership shape — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the database, member portal, payments, calendars, forms, reminders, and admin screens. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, running payments through your own Stripe account where you need them, and you can change it later by asking.
On this page, that app is a synagogue and Jewish community platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; congregation management is one example.
Why build your own synagogue system?
A congregation often counts membership by household, not by individual. One household can include multiple last names, Hebrew names, lifecycle dates, yahrzeits, school enrollment, seats, and a dues pledge agreed with the office.
Kliv builds from the household outward. Pledges, seats, school forms, yahrzeits, reminders, and statements all hang off one record, so the office does not have to reconcile three lists.
The roll, and everything that reads it
One membership can hold many small promises. These records keep them together.
The household
People, Hebrew names, lifecycle dates, and family history live on the household record and can be updated without retyping elsewhere.
Dues and pledges
Each household can give at its own amount and schedule. The system remembers, bills, and keeps one family’s arrangement private.
The yahrzeit calendar
Hebrew and civil dates can sit side by side. Reminders go to the family, and the week’s names assemble into the reading list.
High Holy Days seating
Member seats and guest tickets can be sold by section. When a section reaches capacity, checkout knows.
Hebrew school
Enrollment, class rosters, allergy notes, and tuition can live on the same household record as dues.
An example: Aviva’s 340-household congregation
Here’s how one congregation might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own households, pledge rules, seating, school, and calendar.
Renewal uses each household’s pledge
Pledge letters go out on the shul’s templates. Each household renews at its own amount and schedule, and the roll updates as responses arrive.
High Holy Days seating fills by section
Members claim seats and guests buy $126 tickets by section. When the east section is full, checkout stops selling it.
Yahrzeit reminders come from the roll
Three weeks ahead, a family gets the reminder with the Hebrew and civil dates and service time. That Shabbat, the name appears on the reading list.
A failed pledge installment stays discreet
A card fails in Elul. Retries run and a gentle email links to the payment page, without an office call about money.
School enrollment shares the household record
Hebrew school enrollment creates class rosters, puts allergy notes where teachers need them, and invoices tuition alongside dues.
Describe the community platform you need
Kliv builds from your description, so include households, names, dues, calendars, seats, school records, reminders, and payment rules.
Full congregation system
Households, pledges, yahrzeits, seats, and school.
“Build a synagogue platform with household memberships, pledged dues at each family’s own amount and schedule, yahrzeit reminders with Hebrew and civil dates, High Holy Days seating by section with $126 guest tickets, and Hebrew school enrollment on the household record.”
Chavurah shared calendar
Service calendar, potlucks, leadership, and directory.
“Build a site for our lay-led chavurah with a shared service calendar, potluck sign-ups with item limits, a rotating leadership schedule, and a member directory visible only to signed-in members.”
Community day school portal
Family enrollment, tuition, announcements, and pickup lists.
“Build a parent portal for our Jewish day school with enrollment by family, tuition billing by semester, classroom announcements, allergy notes, and pickup authorization lists visible to staff.”
Dues, dates, and the door
A pledge can be its own amount. Sliding-scale dues can live as a number on the household and bill on the schedule the family chose, through the congregation’s own Stripe account. Waived pledges can still be recorded cleanly.
Reminders come from the roll. Yahrzeit reminders, service-time emails, weekly reading lists, and sponsorship dates can be scheduled from the records.
Members can ask from their own rows. An agent inside the site can answer questions such as “when is my father’s yahrzeit this year?” from that household’s records and not anyone else’s.

Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a synagogue, it builds a real platform around households, pledges, calendars, seats, school records, and reminders.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database, member portal, payments, calendars, forms, and admin screens for your congregation.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for changes to pledge schedules, seating maps, yahrzeit reminders, school forms, or member access, and Kliv updates the app.
Can dues be different for every household?
Yes. The pledge is a number on the household record, billed monthly, quarterly, annually, or on the schedule you set.
Who can see what a family gives?
That family and the office. The pledge amount is protected by database access rules and does not appear in the member directory.
Do High Holy Days guests need member accounts?
No. Guest tickets can be a normal checkout by section and price. Ushers can read or print the paid list by section.
Can it handle the Hebrew calendar?
Yes. Yahrzeits and lifecycle dates can store the Hebrew date you enter, with conversion logic and reminder rules you describe.
Can Hebrew school use the same household record?
Yes. Enrollment, rosters, allergy notes, tuition, and pickup details can connect to the household.
Does Kliv take a cut of dues or tickets?
No. Payments can run through your own Stripe account. Card processing costs are between you and Stripe.
Do members need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Members and guests just pay by card.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The platform can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s source syncs to your own Git repository, and the data is yours to export.
