Build a church sermon archive with search
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the church sermon archive you need — recordings, manuscripts, search, restricted files, member questions, and giving — and Kliv builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a sermon-hosting product with fixed fields — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds the database, the logic, the file storage, the search, and the screens. You own the result, run it on your own domain and accounts, and keep changing it by asking for changes. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a searchable sermon archive for a church. Kliv builds many kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own sermon archive?
A church may have decades of recordings, manuscripts, scans, and notes in different formats. A podcast feed is not enough when members need to find a sermon from years ago, new pastors need to understand what was preached before them, and sensitive recordings must stay with the right family.
Kliv builds the archive as one app: files, metadata, search, access rules, member shelves, and the giving page that can fund digitizing work.
The point is simple: sermons that mattered to the congregation should be findable, readable, and governed by the church’s own rules.
What outlives a Sunday
The archive’s records, and the rule each one carries.
Sermons
Each sermon record can hold the recording, manuscript, date, passage, preacher, and series. Sermons can be public by default, with exceptions set by you.
Series and seasons
Jonah in Lent, the stewardship series, or the building-fund year can group sermons into the way they were preached, not just the way files happened to be named.
Restricted recordings
Funerals, weddings, and pastoral recordings can each carry their own access rule. A family recording is shared with that family and no one else.
Members and saved shelves
Members can sign in to save sermons, follow a series, and see their own giving history. Their shelf and giving records are theirs alone.
Gifts and funds
One-time gifts and recurring gifts can run through the church’s own Stripe account, including gifts designated for an archive or memorial fund.
An example: Pastor Ruth’s sermon archive
Here’s how one church might use a sermon archive built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own recordings, manuscripts, access rules, and giving needs.
The old formats become searchable files
Pastor Ruth retires after 31 years. Cassettes, MiniDiscs, MP3s, and typed manuscripts are uploaded, each with date, passage, preacher, and series.
Manuscripts join the recordings
Scanned manuscripts are attached to the sermons they belong to, including margin notes where the church wants to keep them.
The next pastor can search the pulpit’s history
Before preaching Jonah, Pastor Sam asks what this church has preached on the passage. He finds four sermons from two preachers over 20 years and can cite them by name.
A funeral recording stays with the family
A funeral recording is uploaded and shared only with the family. The access rule belongs to the file, so it does not become public by accident.
A former member funds the archive
A member who moved away listens for an evening and sets up a $65 monthly gift to the archive fund. Receipts and year-end statements are generated automatically.
Describe the archive you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include file types, search fields, access rules, and giving. Here are three examples to build on:
Searchable sermon archive
Recordings, manuscripts, series, member accounts, and giving.
“Build a sermon archive for our congregation with 30 years of recordings and scanned manuscripts. Organize by date, preacher, passage, series, and season; let members search in plain language; add member logins with saved sermons; and include one-time and recurring giving for the archive fund.”
Members-only study library
Public sermons with private teaching content.
“Build a media library for our church where Sunday sermons are public, Bible-study recordings and pastoral letters require member login, and each restricted file has its own access rule.”
Dharma talk archive
Talks organized by teacher, retreat, and theme.
“Build an archive for our meditation center’s dharma talks with audio, transcripts, teacher pages, retreat pages, searchable themes, saved member lists, and dana contributions through a giving page.”
How it comes together
Files carry access rules. Sermons can be public, study recordings can require a member login, and a funeral recording can be shared with one family. The rule is attached to the file and enforced by the server.
The agent answers only from your archive. Members can ask questions in their own words, and the app answers from uploaded sermons. If the archive does not address something, it says so. Conversations stay in the church’s database.
Giving supports the work. A $65 monthly gift renews on schedule, a memorial gift lands in the right fund, and statements assemble at year end. Payments run through the church’s own Stripe account, with failed-card follow-up handled automatically.
Sermons can be found. Each sermon can be a real page on the church’s own domain, included in the sitemap and readable to search crawlers and AI assistants.
A congregation is the original membership organization, and the membership page shows the broader pattern for communities of every creed.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the sermon archive you need, and it builds a real app with files, search, access rules, member accounts, and giving.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds your archive around your sermons, file formats, metadata, access rules, and giving needs.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can ask for changes later, such as a new search field, a different access rule, a new fund, or a new public page type.
Who decides what’s public?
You do, item by item. Sunday sermons can be public, study recordings can require member login, and pastoral recordings can stay with specific families.
Can the archive answer member questions?
Yes, if you build that feature. The agent answers from the sermons and documents you uploaded, not from the open internet.
What if someone asks about something the archive never covered?
The app should say the archive does not address it. That preserves the archive’s limits instead of inventing an answer.
Does Kliv take a percentage of donations?
No. Kliv doesn’t charge by donor count or gift volume. Gifts run through the church’s own Stripe account.
Do donors need Stripe accounts?
No. Donors give by card or the payment methods you enable. Stripe is the church’s payment account.
Can members save sermons?
Yes. Members can have shelves or saved lists tied to their own account, while the archive stays searchable to the audiences you choose.
Will the archive show up in search?
Yes. Sermon pages can be prerendered, listed in a sitemap, and readable to search crawlers and AI assistants.
Can we restrict funerals or pastoral recordings?
Yes. Each sensitive file can have its own access rule, such as sharing a recording only with one family.
What happens if we leave?
The records, files, and code are yours. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, and your archive data can be exported.
