Recruitment & Hiring Management
Build a skilled trades recruitment platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the trades hiring platform you want, and it builds verified worker profiles, crew calls, availability matching, and contractor plans.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a job board product you rent — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the platform you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the matching rules, the screens, the sign-ins, and the payment flow if you charge contractors. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account for subscriptions, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template with your logo on it.
On this page, that app is a skilled trades recruitment platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; a trades hiring board is one example.
Why job boards miss trade requirements
A generic job board treats a master license, a safety card, and a hobby keyword as profile text. That is not enough when a contractor needs two journeyman electricians with OSHA 30 for a specific week.
Kliv builds the platform around workers, licenses, uploaded cards, expiry dates, crew calls, availability windows, contractor accounts, and subscriptions. The checks live with the data, so a call can be answered only by workers who meet the requirements.
The hiring hall, in six records
These records make the board work.
The trade card
A worker profile holds licenses, class, state, endorsements, safety cards, document uploads, and expiry dates.
Crew calls
Each call has a trade, headcount, required certifications, site, dates, and rate. Requirements are filters the app enforces.
Availability windows
A worker can record the date they are free after another job. Matching uses that date so calls go to people who can actually work.
The verification queue
Uploaded cards wait for review before a verified badge appears. Each decision records who made it and when.
Contractor accounts
A contractor signs in as an organization. Estimators can post, PMs can shortlist, and the office can manage the plan inside one account boundary.
Plans and posting allowances
Posting rights follow the subscription or paid call. The app reads allowances from the billing record when a contractor posts.
An example: Callum’s skilled trades board
Here’s how one founder might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own trades, rules, and pricing.
A contractor posts a specific crew call
A concrete contractor needs two certified finishers at the mill site from Thursday through Saturday. The estimator posts the call against the company’s plan, with requirements attached.
Only qualified workers can answer
Workers see the call only if their verified cards and availability fit the dates. Wrong matches are removed before messaging starts.
Rivals stay separated
Two contractors can shortlist the same finisher. Each company’s shortlists, messages, and rates stay behind its own organization wall.
The placement is recorded
The PM confirms two workers, the call closes, and both profiles carry the placement as work history.
Expiry reminders keep badges honest
Sixty days before a card expires, the app sends a renewal reminder. Verified status stays tied to current documents.
Describe the hiring platform you want
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include trades, license rules, who pays, and how matching should work. Here are three to build on:
Trades hiring platform
Two-sided, license-first, with contractor plans.
“Build a recruitment platform for skilled trades where electricians, welders, finishers, and millwrights keep verified license profiles with uploaded documents and expiry dates. Contractors subscribe to a $320 monthly crew plan or buy a single $80 crew call, and workers can answer only calls that match their certifications and availability dates.”
Union local board
Member tickets, signatory contractors, and qualified calls.
“Build a job board for our union local where members maintain their tickets, safety cards, and availability windows. Let signatory contractors post crew calls with required tickets, dates, site address, and rate, and allow only qualified members in good standing to answer.”
Shutdown staffing desk
Date-bounded work for certified crews.
“Build a staffing app for industrial shutdowns where contractors request certified welders, pipefitters, and millwrights for date-bounded turnarounds. Workers enter available windows, reviewers verify cards before badges appear, and dispatchers see only candidates who meet every required certification.”
Built to be sold as a business
Subscriptions control posting rights. Contractor plans, such as a $320 monthly crew plan or an $80 single call, can live in a catalog on Callum’s own Stripe account. When a contractor upgrades, the larger allowance opens because posting rights read from the subscription.
Verification is a workflow. Reviewers approve or reject uploaded cards, decisions are recorded, and expiry reminders keep badges current. “Verified” means there is a record behind it.
Contractors stay inside their own walls. Calls, shortlists, messages, and rate conversations belong to one contractor organization. The database checks that ownership on each read.
The board is the product. Running it as a business, with plans, trials, churn, and upgrades, is covered in Kliv for SaaS.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the platform you want, it builds the working web app, and you own the result.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds worker records, contractor accounts, matching rules, verification, and payment flow for your case.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add a trade, change a plan, add a license field, or revise matching rules.
Who verifies the licenses?
Your reviewers do. Kliv builds the queue, stores the uploaded card, records approval or rejection, and keeps the decision history.
Can contractors see each other’s activity?
No. Each contractor is an organization, and its calls, shortlists, and messages are available only to its own people.
What happens when a worker’s card expires?
The profile reflects the expiry date. Searches stop treating the card as valid, and reminders can go out before the date arrives.
Do workers pay?
Only if you decide they should. The source example has workers free and contractors paying, but you can describe a different setup.
Does Kliv take a cut of contractor payments?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Stripe’s fees are between you and Stripe.
Do contractors need Stripe accounts?
No. Contractors pay by card. Your platform uses your Stripe account to receive the money.
Can contractors subscribe and also buy single posts?
Yes. You can offer monthly plans, single paid crew calls, or both, with allowances enforced by the app.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The platform can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
