Build a radio streaming and playback site
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your stream, program grid, host pages, archive rules, playout log, requests, and supporters, and it builds a radio streaming and playback site on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a stream host or a generic station theme — it’s an AI app builder that builds software for you.
You describe the site you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the program grid, show pages, host logins, archive, playout log, request forms, supporter access, and screens. You own it, run it on your own domain, and change it later by asking. It builds around the stream you already use.
On this page, that app is a radio streaming and playback site. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this one is for stations that need the schedule, archive, and reporting to be real data.
Why the stream was never the hard part
A station may already have a reliable live stream. The harder work is often around it: a program grid in a spreadsheet, host uploads by email, paper playlists for royalty reports, and a website schedule that lags behind the studio.
Kliv builds the station site around the stream. The grid, shows, archive, requests, supporters, and playout log become records in the station’s own database, so every page reads the same source of truth.
Grid, shows, log: the broadcast week in rows
Radio is a schedule with audio attached. These are the records underneath.
The grid
The broadcast week is data. Every slot belongs to a show, and the on-air-now banner reads the same grid as the schedule page.
Shows and hosts
Each show is a record with its host team attached. A host signs in and manages their own page, uploads, and requests.
The playout log
Every track the stream plays lands as a row with title, artist, timestamp, and show. The quarterly royalty return becomes a report on that table.
The archive
Episodes live in the station’s file store. Each show sets its own archive rule, such as public forever or supporter-only back catalog.
Supporters
A listener can support the station, such as $3.50 a month in the source example. Support and archive access are one record, and a lapse closes supporter-only shelves on schedule.
An example: Csilla’s community radio station
Here’s how one business might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own stream, grid, hosts, archive, reporting, and supporter rules.
The show slot drives every page
Bogdan’s folk show holds Saturday 10:00 in the grid, so the homepage, schedule page, and show page all show the same time.
Listener requests attach to the show
A listener requests the Véletlen Dalok single from the show page. The request lands as a row tied to this Saturday’s broadcast.
The playout log records tracks live
Fourteen tracks air, and fourteen timestamped rows appear with title, artist, and show. Nobody transcribes a playlist later.
The host uploads to the right archive
On Monday, Bogdan posts the episode. It files under the show’s access rule without Csilla editing permissions.
A schedule change updates everywhere
In September, the folk show moves to Sundays. Csilla edits the grid once, and every page reads the new slot.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Name your stream, grid, hosts, archive rules, logs, requests, and supporter access. Here are three to build on:
Community station site
Grid, hosts, archive, supporters, and existing stream.
“Build a community radio site around our existing stream. Include a program grid, an on-air-now banner, host-managed show pages, listener requests tied to each show, an episode archive with public and supporter-only rules per show, and a $3.50 monthly supporter membership.”
Internet-only station
A live player with logging and requests.
“Build an internet radio site with a live player for our existing stream, a playout log that records title, artist, timestamp, and show for royalty reporting, and listener requests that attach to the current show.”
Campus radio
A grid that resets each term.
“Build a campus radio site where the program grid resets each semester, student hosts apply for slots, each approved show gets its own page and episode archive, and old term schedules stay available for reference.”
Dead air, engineered out
The royalty quarter is a report. Collecting societies need what aired, when, and how often. The playout log already contains those rows, so the return can be exported and checked.
The archive earns its keep. Every episode is a page with its show’s access rule attached. Some shows can stay public, while others reserve the back catalog for supporters.
Volunteers can change without breaking the site. When a host hands over a show, it is a role change in the database. The page, archive, and request history stay where they are.
Everything here is one part of a media operation. The media floor plan maps the larger set of tools.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the station site you need, and it builds the working app around your stream, grid, hosts, archive, logs, and supporters.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. The program grid, show pages, host permissions, archive rules, playout logs, and supporter access are built around your station.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. Ask for changes in plain words, such as changing archive rules, adding a request form, or revising the supporter area.
Does Kliv run the live stream itself?
No. Your encoder and stream host keep doing that. Kliv builds the site around the stream: grid, show pages, log, archive, and playback pages.
Does Kliv charge per listener?
No. Audience size does not appear on the Kliv bill. If you take supporter payments, those run on your own Stripe account.
Do supporters need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Supporters just pay by card. Payments run through your own Stripe account.
Can a host damage more than their own show?
No. Each host’s access can end at their own show’s page, uploads, and requests, enforced by database rules.
Where do old recordings go?
Into the file store, attached to the shows they belong to, under the access rule for each show.
Can the archive be partly public and partly supporter-only?
Yes. Each show can have its own rule for public episodes, supporter-only back catalogs, or other access patterns.
How does royalty reporting work?
The playout log stores track, artist, timestamp, and show as rows, so a royalty return becomes a filtered export.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The station site runs on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
