Build a podcast member archive
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the podcast member archive you want — free recent episodes, paid back catalog, searchable notes, and answers with episode and minute — and it builds it.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a podcast host or a membership plugin — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the pages, the access rules, the search, and the member flow. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can change it later by asking for changes and run payments on your own Stripe account. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a paid archive for a long-running podcast. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one for media businesses with valuable back catalogs.
Why build a member archive?
A podcast feed is built for what is newest. A long-running show has the opposite problem: older episodes are valuable, but they become hard to find, hard to cite, and hard to sell.
Kliv builds an archive beside the feed. Every episode becomes a record, the deep catalog sits behind a paid gate, and uploaded notes or transcripts become searchable. The feed keeps doing what it does; the archive turns past work into a product.
One show, four hundred seventy records
Membership pays for the gate, the gate protects the archive, and the notes make the archive searchable.
Episode records
Audio, notes, guest, season, and chapter marks live in one row per episode. The newest thirty can carry a public flag the pages obey.
The member gate
A membership is a subscription on your own Stripe account. Current members can stream older episodes; lapsed members see the join page.
Searchable notes
Show notes and transcripts feed a knowledge base you upload. A member searching for the grafting-failure interview can find it even if the title is “Patience, twice.”
The archive assistant
The assistant answers only from your uploaded notes. Its answers include an episode and minute, and each conversation is stored in your database.
Guest pages
Every guest links to their episodes across the catalog. Guests get a page, and the show gets a map of itself.
An example: Lachlan’s podcast archive
Here’s how one show might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own catalog, free window, membership price, and archive rules.
The back catalog moves in
Lachlan uploads 470 episodes and their notes into the file store and database. Nothing is re-recorded or rewritten; the work gains structure.
Recent episodes stay free
The latest 30 episodes remain public. Older episodes check the membership record before they play. As new episodes publish, the free window moves on its own.
The notes become searchable
Uploaded notes are searchable as soon as they arrive. “The interview about failed grafts” becomes a search, not a memory test.
Answers point to the audio
A member asks what the show has said about fig propagation in cold climates. The assistant names episode 214 and points to minute 43.
Membership becomes a second income
At $5.50 a month, the first hundred members turn the archive into paid work. Failed cards retry and reminder emails carry the fix without reaching Lachlan’s desk.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so include the free window, catalog size, price, access rules, and what search or the assistant should cite. Here are three examples:
Gated back catalog
A free recent window and paid older episodes.
“Build a member archive for my interview podcast. Keep the latest 30 episodes free, put the older 440 episodes behind a $5.50 monthly membership, and let members stream older episodes after payment through my own Stripe account.”
Ask the archive
Answers from uploaded notes, with episode and minute.
“Add an assistant for members that answers questions only from my uploaded show notes and transcripts, always cites the episode number and minute mark, and stores each conversation in my database.”
Guest index
A page for every guest and every appearance.
“Add a guest directory where every guest page lists their episodes across all seasons, includes short bios I can edit, and links directly into the member archive.”
How the archive works
The gate and membership read the same record. There is no exported list of paying listeners to sync. A join opens the archive when payment exists; a lapse closes it on the schedule you choose.
The assistant is limited to your archive. It cannot improvise from the wider internet. It retrieves what the show has actually said and attaches the citation. Stored conversations also show which questions your notes still do not answer.
The archive is yours. Episodes live in the file store; notes and members are rows you own. If the show ends someday, the archive does not disappear because a feed moved.
When the show starts selling more than the archive — live tapings, a book, a second feed — that is the media page’s subject.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a podcast member archive, it builds the episode pages, member gate, search, assistant, and admin views around your show.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your episodes, members, notes, access rules, and searches live in a database built for your archive.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change the free window, membership price, episode fields, assistant behavior, or member pages by asking for changes.
Does the public feed change?
No. The feed can keep serving the free window wherever people already listen. The archive is a destination beside it.
What do members actually get?
They get the full catalog you choose to gate, streaming pages that check membership, search across notes, and an assistant that answers with episode and minute.
Do I have to transcribe eleven years first?
No. Start with the show notes you have. Add transcripts season by season later; every upload improves search and the assistant.
Can the assistant answer from the wider internet?
No. Its source is what you upload. That is what lets answers carry citations to your episodes instead of broad guesses.
Does Kliv take a cut of memberships?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe.
Do listeners need Stripe accounts?
No. They pay by card. The Stripe account is yours.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The archive can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your episode records and member data are yours.

Answer “which episode was that in?”
