Build email marketing and automation on your own data
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your email marketing and automation system, and it builds a real app with live segments, scheduled sends, consent rules, and reporting on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a mailing-list tool with tags to maintain — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in plain words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, the schedules, the templates, and the integrations. You own the result, run it on your own domain, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a fixed automation template.
On this page, that app is an email marketing system that reads your own database. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why build your own email marketing?
A business often knows things a mailing-list tool does not: who buys poetry, who attended the last author night, who has not bought since March. In a separate list tool, that knowledge usually becomes stale tags, CSV exports, or segments that were only true on the day someone built them.
Kliv can build the email system inside the app that already holds the customers, orders, and events. A segment becomes a live query, a campaign becomes a scheduled job, and the win-back email fires on day 90 because the system can count from the actual purchase record.
What the system knows
Email works better when it reads the same records the business uses.
Segments that are queries
“Bought poetry twice this year” is a query over your order rows, not a tag someone maintains by hand. It is correct at the moment of sending.
Templates in your voice
Every send uses templates you control: the new-arrivals digest, the event invite, the receipt, and the win-back note. Each one is written once and filled from live rows.
The sending calendar
The Friday digest is a scheduled server-side job. It gathers the week’s arrivals, renders the template, and sends on the schedule you set.
Events and RSVPs
An author night is a record with a capacity. Invites go to the right buyers, RSVPs land as rows, and reminder emails can read those rows later.
The Mailchimp bridge
If your list already lives in Mailchimp, the app can act in it and react to its events: subscribe, unsubscribe, and sync. Mailchimp keys stay server-side.
What the mail did
You can define events such as “came from the digest and bought within seven days.” The dashboard reports that alongside revenue per channel.
An example: Priya’s independent bookshop
Here’s how one bookshop might use email marketing built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own customers, inventory, events, templates, and consent rules.
The Friday digest sends from live inventory
Priya’s digest gathers the week’s new arrivals and fills the template. Poetry buyers see the new Tranströmer translation first because the segment reads what they actually buy.
Author-night invites go to the right readers
The visiting novelist’s previous buyers — 31 people in the order rows — get the invitation. The RSVP record caps the room at 40 people.
A win-back fires on day 90
A regular customer reaches 90 days without a purchase. The next morning she gets a staff-picks note and a discount code. If she buys, the flow stops.
Reminders respect RSVPs
Everyone who RSVPed gets the event details the day before. Customers who did not RSVP get nothing, and unsubscribed customers are skipped by every job.
Revenue is counted from the same rows
The dashboard shows the digest drove 11 sales and the invite filled the room. The report reads the same database the emails came from.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Name the data, timing, templates, consent rules, and measurements you need. Here are three to build on:
Weekly arrivals digest
A scheduled send from inventory and purchase history.
“Build an email system for my independent bookshop. Every Friday at 7:00, send a new-arrivals digest from this week’s inventory. Group customers by the genres they actually buy, put poetry buyers first for poetry arrivals, and skip anyone who has unsubscribed.”
Win-back automation
Lapsed customers found from the order table.
“Build a win-back flow that emails any customer with no purchase in 90 days. Send a personal note from the shop, include a 15% staff-picks discount code valid for 14 days, stop the flow as soon as they buy, and never send to customers who opted out.”
Event invitations
Author-night invites matched to purchase history.
“Build event invitations for our author nights. Invite customers who bought that author’s books, take RSVPs up to a 40-person capacity, send a reminder the day before to people who RSVPed, and report sales that happen within seven days of the invite.”
How it comes together
Automation is code on a schedule. Each flow — digest, win-back, reminder — is typed TypeScript running on your schedule, reading your rows, and sending on your templates. If the shop wants the digest split by branch, the schema and job can change together.
Test sends stay private. Scenario tests drive the real app in a browser against a throwaway database. Outbound email is captured for review instead of delivered, so you can read the 90-day note before any customer receives one.
Consent is checked at send time. Unsubscribes and preferences live on the customer record and are read by every job. They are not a separate suppression list someone has to sync.
Staff can ask the same data questions. The shop’s agent can answer “who should we hand-sell the new translation to?” from purchase rows — the same data the digest reads.
Email is one of the levers; scheduled jobs, integrations, and server-side functions are the machinery underneath. The build-and-extend page opens that machine room properly.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the system you need, it builds the app, and you own the result. For email marketing and automation, that means segments, templates, schedules, consent, integrations, and reporting built around your data.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database queries, screens, jobs, templates, and integration logic for your case. It is not a generic campaign template.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add a new flow, change the timing, edit a segment, add an event type, or adjust reporting by asking for changes in plain words.
Is this a replacement for my mailing-list tool?
It can be, or it can drive one. Sends can go out directly on your templates, or the app can work with Mailchimp by syncing segments and reacting to its events. Credentials stay server-side.
What stops an automation from misfiring?
Flows run as tested code. Scenario runs capture outbound email for review before delivery, and consent is checked from the customer row at send time.
Can I measure revenue, not just opens?
Yes. Because orders and email events are in the same app, you can report revenue per channel and custom events such as digest-to-purchase within seven days.
How current are segments when a send goes out?
Segments are queries executed at send time. A customer who bought this morning is out of tonight’s win-back automatically.
Can it send event reminders?
Yes. Event RSVPs are records, so reminders can go only to people who RSVPed, while everyone else is left alone.
Can it respect unsubscribes and preferences?
Yes. Unsubscribes and preferences live on the customer record and are checked by every scheduled job.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The app runs on your own domain and can send using your own templates and configured sending setup.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull, not a rebuild.
Do I need a separate analytics tool?
No. The app can report sends, purchases, channel revenue, RSVP outcomes, and custom events from the same records it uses to send.
