Build a content rewriting and correction platform
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe your content rewriting and grammar correction workflow, and it builds intake, versions, review states, style sheets, editor queues, and word-metered billing.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a grammar checker — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app your editing studio needs in plain words, and Kliv builds it: intake, files, version history, review states, style sheets, editor queues, word counts, billing, and admin screens. What you get is a real app that’s yours. You can run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account, and change it later by asking. It isn’t a template.
On this page, that app is a content rewriting and grammar correction platform. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this page focuses on the business system around editing work.
Why a grammar checker is not an editing business
An editing studio may use several rewriting and correction tools. The harder problem is everything around them: files arriving in different formats, drafts overwriting each other, client style sheets, contractor queues, deadlines, and invoices rebuilt from memory.
Kliv builds the studio system: intake, versions, states, style rules, editor access, and billing based on the work returned. It does not care which editing tool you use this quarter.
The studio’s paper trail
The records that turn edits into a business.
The style sheet
Each client can have structured rules: serial comma, capitalization, banned words, number style, and house terms. The sheet is searchable, versioned, and attached to jobs.
The job
One manuscript carries word count, deadline, assigned editor, and state: submitted, in edit, returned, approved. The pipeline is visible from the records.
Draft versions
The original, edited pass, and client revision are separate files with timestamps and authors. Nothing gets overwritten.
The word ledger
Every returned job appends its word count to the client’s running total. Billing reads the same rows the work created.
The editor bench
Contract editors sign in to their own queues, deadlines, and client style sheets. They do not see other engagements unless you allow it.
An example: Wren’s copyediting studio
Here’s how one editing studio might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own intake, style sheets, review states, editor roles, and billing terms.
The manuscript enters intake
A novelist uploads an 84,000-word manuscript through the client portal. A job opens with word count, deadline, and the client style sheet attached.
An editor takes the job
A contract editor accepts the job into her queue. The state changes to in edit, and the studio dashboard updates without a separate status email.
Style questions use the client’s rules
The editor asks whether this client capitalizes “chapter” in cross-references. The agent answers from that client’s style sheet.
The returned draft keeps its history
The edited draft uploads as a new version. The client gets an email from Wren’s studio address with a review link.
Billing follows the returned work
The 84,000 returned words join the client ledger. At month end, the invoice prices those rows per 1,000 words through Wren’s Stripe account.
Describe the editing platform you want
Kliv builds from your description, so include intake, states, file versions, style rules, editor roles, word counts, rates, and billing timing. Here are three examples:
Editing studio pipeline
Jobs, versions, and review states.
“Build a copyediting studio platform for my editing business. Clients should submit manuscripts, jobs should track word count, deadline, editor, and states from submitted to approved, drafts should keep version history, and clients should get review links when work is returned.”
Client style sheets
House rules as structured records.
“Build a style sheet manager for my editing studio. Each client should have structured entries for punctuation, capitalization, banned words, numbers, and preferred terms. Every job should link to the client’s sheet, and editors should be able to ask an agent what the sheet says.”
Word-metered billing
Invoice by returned words.
“Build word-count billing for my editing studio. Each returned job should add its final word count to a per-client ledger, monthly invoices should price the total at $38 per 1,000 words, and payments should run through my Stripe account.”
The pipeline around the red pen
Billing uses the unit you sell. Returned words accrue per client, and the monthly invoice is computed from that ledger. A rate change can start on a specific date in the catalog.
Style memory is available to editors. The agent answers staff questions from client style sheets and your house guide, citing the rule it used. It exists to help consistency, not to replace editorial judgment.
Confidentiality is enforced in the database. Novelists do not see software clients, and contract editors see their own queues. Each session’s reads are scoped by row.
As for where AI belongs in an app like this — that question has its own page: AI apps on Kliv covers agents, grounding, and responsible app design.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI app builder. You describe the editing platform you need, and Kliv builds the intake, files, states, style sheets, editor queues, billing, and admin screens.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. It is built around your clients, jobs, files, style sheets, editor roles, word counts, and billing rules.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add states, change rates, add client rules, revise editor roles, or change the billing cycle by asking.
Does Kliv rewrite the text or fix the grammar?
No. Your editors and the correction tools they choose do the editing. Kliv builds the business system around that work.
What does the agent do?
It answers editors’ questions from your clients’ style sheets and house guide. It is staff-facing and grounded in documents you wrote.
Do clients ever see each other’s manuscripts?
No. Each client’s files and jobs are scoped by database rules to that client account.
How does per-word billing stay honest?
The count comes from returned jobs. The ledger used for billing is the ledger the work wrote, with dates, versions, and word counts attached.
Does Kliv take a cut of invoices?
No. Payments run on your own Stripe account, and card fees are between you and Stripe.
Can contract editors have limited access?
Yes. Editors can see their own queues, deadlines, and style sheets without seeing the studio’s other engagements.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The app’s code syncs to your own Git repository, so leaving is a git pull rather than a rebuild.
