Build a job application tracker
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the saved postings, resume versions, contacts, interview notes, follow-ups, and assistant you need, and it builds a private tracker.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t a spreadsheet template or job-board plugin — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the screens, the reminders, the file storage, and the assistant that reads your own records. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a tracker template.
On this page, that app is a job application tracker. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one private app for a serious search.
Why build your own job application tracker?
A serious job search creates decaying information. Postings get edited or deleted. Recruiters promise follow-ups. You send different resume versions. Interview details matter weeks later. A spreadsheet can start strong and still collapse under the volume.
Kliv builds the tracker around the campaign: postings preserved, versions pinned to applications, promises dated, notes kept, and follow-ups scheduled. The app exists for the candidate who needs reliable recall.
What applications leave behind
A search generates an archive. These are the records that keep it usable.
Posting, preserved
The job ad is captured when you find it. If the company edits or deletes it, your copy remains the one you prepare against.
Resume and letter versions
Each application records which resume and cover letter you sent, so you do not reconstruct your claims under pressure.
People and promises
Recruiters, referrers, interviewers, and every “you’ll hear from us by Friday” can be stored with dates.
Stages and nudges
Each application sits in one stage, and every live one can carry a follow-up date. Silence gets a date the day you apply.
Interview notes
Questions asked, answers given, compensation ranges, and details about the role are filed to the application while fresh.
An example: Margot’s QA leadership search
Here’s how one candidate might use a job application tracker built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own stages, notes, files, and reminders.
A posting is captured before it changes
Margot finds a senior QA role at lunch. One click files the posting text, company, and source before the tab closes.
The assistant drafts from her own writing
She asks which past cover letter is closest to the posting. The assistant works from her own letters and examples, and she edits for ten minutes instead of starting over.
The phone screen creates dated promises
The recruiter names a compensation range and two follow-up promises. Margot records them with dates before the call leaves her head.
Interview notes keep the story consistent
Four interviews create four sets of notes. Before the final round, she rereads what each interviewer already asked and what she already said.
An offer closes the search cleanly
The offer is recorded next to the range from the phone screen. Forty other applications close with one status change each, and the archive stays useful for future relationships.
Describe the tracker you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include stages, files, reminders, contacts, notes, and assistant behavior. Here are three to build on:
Personal search tracker
Saved postings, versions, stages, and interview notes.
“Build a job application tracker for my QA leadership search. Save each posting as a copy, attach the resume and cover-letter version sent for each role, track stages from found to closed, set follow-up reminders by date, and make interview notes searchable by company and person.”
Career pivot journal
Skills, courses, conversations, and weekly review.
“Build an app to run my career change from operations to product management. Track a skills inventory, five target role types, courses in progress, informational interviews with notes, application experiments, and a weekly Friday review email.”
Freelance pipeline board
Leads, proposals, follow-ups, and outcomes.
“Build a pipeline tracker for my freelance practice. Track leads by source, proposals and their versions, follow-up dates, expected value, stage, won and lost reasons, and a Monday email for anything overdue.”
Interview prep from primary sources
The assistant inside the app reads one candidate’s search: the postings saved, notes written, letters sent, and promises recorded. Before a final round, you can ask what you told the company about compensation and what they said back. The answer comes from your records.
It can also act within permissions you grant, such as filing a follow-up when a promise date passes or drafting a thank-you from your own letters.
A scheduled Friday review can list stalled threads, expired promises, and stage changes. The search stops living in your head between coffees.
An AI app with one user is still an AI app: one archive, one reader. The wider pattern lives at apps built on private reading.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For a job search, it builds the tracker, saved records, reminders, files, notes, and assistant around your process.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Your stages, files, notes, reminders, and assistant behavior are built into it.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can add stages, fields, reminders, views, imports, or assistant actions later.
Will it apply to jobs for me?
No. It does not scrape job boards or click submit. It runs the campaign around applying: what you sent, to whom, what happened, and what is due.
Where does the assistant get its answers?
From your rows and files: postings you saved, notes you wrote, letters you sent, and contacts you recorded. If you never recorded something, it should say the record is empty.
Is this overkill for a 20-application search?
Twenty applications can mean many people, promises, postings, notes, and versions. The point is recall when the search stretches into later weeks.
Can I save the original posting?
Yes. You can store the posting text and source when you find it, so later edits or deletions do not erase your preparation material.
Can I track resume versions?
Yes. Each application can store the resume and cover-letter version you sent.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The private tracker can run on your own domain.
Can I move off Kliv later?
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your data can be exported.
Will search engines index my job tracker?
No. This is a private app. You can keep it behind sign-in.
Can the app send reminders?
Yes. Follow-up dates and promise dates can drive scheduled reminders and weekly review emails.
