Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the private holdings, instruments, marks, founder updates, deadlines, and scoped sharing you need, and it builds your portfolio app.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
Kliv isn’t a brokerage app or wealth-management product — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the data, the logic, the screens, the file storage, the access rules, and the reminders. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain, and you can change it later by asking. It isn’t a spreadsheet template.
On this page, that app is an investment tracking and portfolio management app for private holdings. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one for records your brokerage cannot see.
Private holdings do not behave like public tickers. The truth arrives as DocuSign envelopes, PDFs, decks, founder letters, K-1s, wires, capital calls, and notes you wrote when you made a decision.
A spreadsheet can hold numbers, but it does not hold the paper well. A brokerage app cannot see private SAFEs, notes, priced rounds, and fund positions. Kliv builds the tracker around the companies, instruments, marks, documents, and decisions you actually have.
A system of record, not a dashboard with opinions. Here is what it keeps.
Each company has a record: what it does, when you first wired, every instrument you hold, and the current mark with the round that set it.
Each SAFE, note, and priced round can store cap, discount, preferences, and the executed PDF, so the terms are read from the record.
Valuation history names the round that produced each mark. An unpriced company shows the last real number and the date it stopped being current.
Founder letters and decks are filed to the company when they arrive, private by default in the file store.
Pro-rata windows, follow-ons, and passes can carry deadlines and the reasoning you wrote at the time.
Wires out to rounds, distributions back from exits, and escrow tails can reconcile against instruments instead of memory.
A scheduled job can check which companies have gone quiet past 90 days and which windows close this month, then email the list on Monday morning.
The assistant answers from your update library and your records: holdings, marks, and decisions. Every conversation is saved in the app.
Semantic search can find the hiring freeze even where a founder wrote “pausing recruiting velocity.”
A co-investor can be invited into one company’s room, and an accountant can see the tax drawer each spring. Scope is a rule on rows and files.
Here’s how one investor might use an investment tracking app built with Kliv. It’s only an example — you would describe your own holdings, documents, marks, and sharing rules.
Astrid has 41 checks across 12 years: SAFEs, priced rounds, two funds, and one convertible note. Each company gets a record with documents, instruments, and notes.
A SAFE stores its cap, discount, and executed PDF. When Astrid needs to check terms later, she reads the record instead of searching email.
Founder letters and decks are filed to the company. Astrid can ask which companies raised this year and see answers drawn from the updates she uploaded.
A pro-rata window gets a deadline and a note explaining why Astrid passed or followed on. Future Astrid can see the reason, not just the outcome.
A co-investor sees one company’s room. The accountant sees the tax drawer each spring. No guest sees the rest of the portfolio.
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include holdings, instruments, documents, marks, deadlines, sharing, and reminders. Here are three to build on:
Private companies, SAFEs, rounds, marks, and updates.
“Build an angel portfolio tracker. Create one record per company, store SAFEs and priced rounds with cap, discount, and executed PDFs, track valuation marks by round and date, file founder updates to each company, and remind me when a company has been quiet for 90 days.”
Private companies, funds, K-1s, and capital calls.
“Build a family investment ledger for eight private companies and two funds. File K-1s and quarterly statements per entity, track capital-call deadlines and paid status, store distributions, and give the accountant access only to the tax drawer.”
Member-scoped deals, allocations, wires, and updates.
“Build a private deal room for my syndicate. Each member should see only deals they joined, with allocations, wire instructions, post-close updates per company, and admin reports on who has funded each allocation.”
Ask a question no single letter answers, such as which companies raised this year and at what marks. The assistant can read across the update library and answer company by company, citing the letters it used.
The app can evolve with the portfolio. If the first fund position arrives with capital calls, you can ask for capital calls with due dates and paid status. The new records inherit the same privacy rules as the rest of the app.
The value is not in generic market advice. It is in private documents only you have, organized and readable. The wider pattern lives at apps whose moat is their data.
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For portfolio tracking, it builds the holdings, documents, marks, reminders, sharing, and assistant around your private records.
A real app. Your companies, instruments, file types, deadlines, and access rules are built into it.
Yes. You can add capital calls, tax drawers, new sharing rules, new reports, or different mark fields later.
No. It records what you hold, what you signed, and what founders wrote, then answers from those records. Investment judgment stays yours.
Yes, as rows you enter or import, such as ticker, cost basis, and notes. It is not a live trading terminal.
Nobody unless you invite them, and only within the scope you set: one company, a tax drawer, or another limited room.
In your app’s file store, private by default and attached to the company or record they belong to.
Yes. You can import rows from a spreadsheet and attach files to the right companies or funds.
Yes. It answers from documents and records you uploaded, and it should say when the record is empty.
Yes. The private app can run on your own domain.
Yes. The code syncs to your own Git repository, and your data and files can be exported.
Not by default. This page is about a private system of record for holdings and documents a brokerage does not see.
