Restaurant & Food Service
Build a restaurant and food service app
Kliv is an AI app builder. Describe the restaurant and food service app you need — online ordering, pickup slots, catering, kitchen screens, regulars, and checkout — and it builds it on your own domain.
Just enter your idea into the text box and AI will build it for you
What is Kliv?
Kliv isn’t an ordering product you configure — it’s an AI that builds software for you.
You describe the app you need in your own words, and Kliv builds it: the database, the menu editor, checkout, order flow, kitchen screen, customer accounts, notifications, and admin screens. What you get is a real web app that’s yours, on your own domain. You can use it, change it later by asking for changes, and run it on your own accounts, including your own Stripe account for payments. It isn’t a template with your name on it.
On this page, that app is a restaurant and food service app. Kliv builds all kinds of web apps; this is one example.
Why take your own orders
Marketplace ordering tools are built for average menus and charge for access to orders you could take yourself. Your menu may have modifiers, items that sell out during service, pickup slots the kitchen can actually handle, and catering trays that need three days’ notice.
Kliv builds ordering around how your kitchen works. You edit the menu. Pickup slots have real limits. Catering is prepaid. Orders land on your kitchen screen, and money lands in your own Stripe account.
What the kitchen sees
The records behind a night of service, each with a rule attached.
Menu and modifiers
Items, modifiers, and an 86 toggle live in the menu. If the octopus runs out, one change removes it from open menus.
Pickup slots
Each 15-minute slot can hold a set number of orders. When 7:00 is full, checkout offers 7:15.
Catering
Trays, lead-time rules, and payment at order time. A $145 tray is paid when ordered, not chased after prep starts.
Regulars
Order history and saved usuals let returning customers reorder quickly, and loyalty rules can read that history.
Kitchen screen
Every paid order appears with slot, items, and modifiers. The line sees the same rows the customer bought.
An example: Sami’s Lebanese restaurant
Here’s how one restaurant might use it. It’s only an example — you would describe your own menu, slots, catering rules, kitchen workflow, and customer accounts.
The menu changes before service
Sami 86es the octopus before dinner and adds the night’s special from a phone. Online ordering opens with the current menu.
Orders spread across pickup slots
Fourteen paid orders spread across the early slots, each confirmed by email with its pickup time and shown on the kitchen screen.
A full slot offers the next time
The order that would be seventh in a six-order 7:00 slot is offered 7:15 instead. The kitchen is not promised more than it can plate.
Catering follows the lead-time rule
A regular orders two trays for Sunday inside the 72-hour rule, pays in full at checkout, and the order appears on the prep list.
Regulars reorder quickly
A regular signs in and reorders last week’s meal from history. The ticket joins the queue without another long form.
The dashboard explains the night
Orders, revenue by hour, dishes that sold out, and declined pickup slots are visible before closing.
Describe what you want to build
Kliv builds from your description, so the more detail you give, the closer the first version. Include menu rules, slot capacity, payment, catering lead times, kitchen workflow, and analytics. Here are three to build on:
Family restaurant ordering
Modifiers, capped pickup slots, and kitchen display.
“Build an ordering site for my Lebanese restaurant. Include mezze modifiers, pickup slots capped at six orders every 15 minutes, payment through my Stripe account, an 86 toggle for sold-out items, and a kitchen display showing paid orders by pickup time.”
Catering with lead times
Paid trays and morning prep lists.
“Build a catering order app for my restaurant. Offer $145 trays for 12 people, require 72 hours’ notice, take full payment at order time through my Stripe account, collect allergy notes, and email the kitchen a prep list every morning at 6.”
Weekly meal prep
Subscriptions with pause and pickup days.
“Build a meal-prep site where customers subscribe to five meals a week for $79, pause a week from their account page, choose Monday or Thursday pickup, and receive a confirmation email after each payment.”
How it comes together
Checkout runs on your own Stripe account. One-time orders, prepaid catering trays, and meal-prep subscriptions can run through the same catalog. A paused subscription can move billing with it.
Slots are capacity. The order that would overfill 7:00 is refused when it tries to save, so the limit holds even when two phones order at the same time.
The morning prep list sends itself. A scheduled job can send today’s catering, pickup-slot load, and what ran out last night at 6:00.
Analytics can speak restaurant. Revenue by hour, by channel, by dish, plus a custom event such as “slot declined,” can show when demand outruns the line.
Taking orders direct is half of a bigger move — owning the whole storefront. How direct-to-customer stores run on Kliv is the longer story.
Common questions
What exactly is Kliv?
Kliv is an AI that builds custom web apps from a description. For restaurants, that can mean online ordering, menu editing, checkout, pickup slots, catering, kitchen screens, regular accounts, and analytics.
Do I get a real app, or a template?
A real app. Kliv builds the database, screens, checkout, menu rules, order flow, and admin around your restaurant.
Can I change it after it’s built?
Yes. You can change slot limits, menu fields, catering lead times, prep-list timing, analytics, or customer account features later.
Can we change the menu during service?
Yes. The menu is editable live. An 86ed item disappears from open menus, and a special can become orderable right away.
How do pickup slots stay honest?
Slot capacity is a database rule. When a slot reaches its limit, checkout offers the next available slot.
Do we need a delivery fleet?
No. This can be your pickup and catering channel first. If you add delivery later, you can describe a delivery zone and driver view.
What does testing look like before we go live?
Kliv writes unit tests as it builds, and you can ask for a Scenario that places an order in a real browser against a disposable database copy. The confirmation email is captured for inspection, and no real order is created.
Does Kliv take a cut of orders?
No. Payments run through your own Stripe account. Kliv does not take a percentage of each order.
Do customers need their own Stripe accounts?
No. Customers just pay by card. Stripe is how money reaches your account.
Can regulars reorder past orders?
Yes. Customer accounts can keep order history and saved usuals, so repeat orders take less work.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The ordering app can run on your own domain.
Do I need a separate dashboard tool?
No. The app can include the kitchen screen, admin, analytics, and customer ordering flow together.
